The fathers and daughters began working on the cabin. It was hard work, and the progress was slow. Anna and Amity directed the whole progress, helping as much as they could. When darkness finally fell, they rested their tools.
Doyle wiped sweat off his brow, and spoke to James and Amity, "Would you like to have dinner with us?"
"I'm sure Heather would like a day off cooking, and this goofball would love it I'm sure." James accepted.
Anna and Amity looked at each other, mirroring grins.
"Come on!" Anna said excitedly, "We can go ahead of the dads!" Amity and Anna set off in a run ahead of the fathers, who started walking after them.
When Anna and Amity reached the end of the trail, they stopped, breathing heavily.
When their breathing had steadied, they started off at a jog again towards the front of the house.
They opened the front door and stepped inside. The two moms, Sylvia and Heather, were seated around the living room with mugs of tea.
"Hey mom!" Anna greeted, "Dad invited the Madsens over for dinner!"
Sylvia smiled, "Sounds great." She stood up and walked over to the soup she had in a crock pot and stirred it. Heather stood up also and walked over to the kitchen.
Anna and Amity set the table, and when the men came inside, everyone sat down to eat.
After dinner, the Madsens stayed for a while, talking and playing games, until it was nine o'clock, when they left. Anna headed to bed, while Doyle and Sylvia stayed up talking.

Over the next few months, Anna, Amity, and their dads worked on the cabin. Anna and Amity worked on it after school, and the dads helped after they came home from work. They shoveled to make the area flat, and laid wood on top of the dirt to make a sort of foundation, as they couldn't get concrete back in the woods. Then they started building up the walls of the cabin, leaving spaces for windows and a door. Lastly, they did the roof, and then made it waterproof.
Amity squealed in excitement, "Look at it Anna!" She exclaimed. The last step on the cabin had just been finished.
Anna was grinning ear to ear, "Isn't it great?" She ran over to her dad and hugged him tightly, "Thank you, daddy!"
Doyle smiled, "Your welcome, sweetheart."
The cabin was small. It had three rooms; two small bedrooms and a larger main area.
Anna and Amity went in through the gap that would soon be a door.
"It's great!" Amity exclaimed. Anna nodded agreement, "Tomorrow we can furnish it." She said happily.
"Amity!" Her father called out from outside the cabin, "It's time to head home!"
"Okay, dad!" Amity replied, and headed back out, Anna following behind her.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Anna. Let's meet out here as soon as we're done with school!" Amity suggested.
Anna grinned, "Right after school. Got it."
James and Amity headed down the long trail towards their house.
Anna wrapped her arms around her dad, and together the father and daughter headed home.

Sorry this chapter is so short, but it was mainly just saying that the cabin structure was finished. :)
