Anna's family and Amity's family stepped out from the woods, along with a few other people she didn't recognize, that were dressed in green and gray mottled cloaks.

John Flanagan stepped out the door also, "I have some people I want to introduce you to."

A man in a Ranger cloak with a salt-and-pepper beard stepped over to them.

"Anna, I'd like you to meet Halt." John introduced, "Halt, this is Anna."

Halt offered his hand, and Anna shook it, barely containing a grin. Another green-and-grey cloaked man joined Halt, also offering his hand to shake, "And I'm Will." Anna grinned, "Nice to meet you." Next up, a girl whom John introduced as Alyss met Anna, and then Horace, Evenlyn, Gilan, Crowley, and Pauline.

Tables were set up, chairs were brought out, food—which amity had hidden in the cabin—was also brought out, and everyone seated themselves. Amity and John sat next to Anna. The meal was filled with laughter and talking. During it, Anna leaned over to Amity and whispered, "Did you organize this?" Amity grinned, "Yah. I was just going to have John come meet you, but he amped it up a little. It was his idea to have some people dress up as the Rangers." Anna grinned back, "Well, thanks."
"No problem. What are best friends for?"

Once, during the meal, John turned to Anna and asked, slightly louder than normal, "So, Anna, what is your cabin's name?" Anna's face turned red, and she was painfully aware of Halt's gaze on her, "Greybeard Halt." She mumbled. Choruses of laughter broke out, and eventually Anna joined in.

Once the meal was over, Crowley stood up and announced the new Ranger. Clapping and cheers followed, and then they all sang songs, ending with the Cabin in the Trees. Anna sighed contentedly and sang softly along.

I am truly a Ranger.
