Chapter 43

The above tune is what I listen to while thinking of Yuyutsu. I know it was for Arjun but here it is dedicated to Yuyutsu...😊

♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧

"Bhrata Yuyutsu!!!!!" Arjun shouted and ran towards the riverbank as he saw Chitrangada releasing the arrow aiming at Yuyutsu's head.

But just at the right time before the arrow could pierce his head, Yuyutsu caught the arrow still with his eyes closed. Chitrangada looked pleased as Arjun released the breath that had gotten stuck inside him earlier.

Yuyutsu slowly opened his eyes. His expression never changed from the calm one that he sported while chanting. His eyes locked on Chitrangada as he singlehandedly broke the arrow that he held on his hand and let the broken pieces fall on the water. He then came out of the waters and stood before Chitrangada.

"Mujh par prahar ka karan jan sakta hu? (May I know why you attacked me?)" Yuyutsu asked evenly.

"Baas parikshan kar rahi thi, ki meri jo dharna hai aapke bisay mei woh satik hai yeah nehi. (I was just checking, if my assumption about you is right or not.)" Chitrangada replied.

"Aapke parikshan ke chakkar mei abhi parlok sidhar jate yeh. (In your checking, he would have died right now.)" Arjun said.

"Jab doo youdhha baat kar rahe ho, toh tapaswi o ko bich mei nehi bolna cahiye. (When two warriors are talking, saints shouldn't talk in between.)" Chitrangada said in irritation.

Arjun looked at her being stupefied while Yuyutsu covered his chuckle with a cough. Arjun gave a look to him and then turned to Chitrangada with a fake sweet smile.

"Jaisi aapki eccha devi. (As you wish ma'am.)" Arjun said folding his hands and took two steps back looking elsewhere.

"Toh baatane ka kast karengi, ki aap kis baat ka parikshan kar rahi thi? (So will you take the trouble of telling what testing were you doing?)" Yuyutsu asked again.

"Of course. That day while duelling with you, I got the impression that you're not any ordinary warrior. You're a well-trained highly skilled one. And to confirm that only I took this little test." Chitrangada replied. Even though the arrow would have pierced him, the force behind it was measured to not do any life threatening damage.

"Thank you for the praises, but I still see no point." Yuyutsu said.

"The point is, I want you to train me." Chitrangada replied surprising him and Arjun both.

"You misunderstood. I am not some acharya (teacher) to give you training. There are many Gurukuls and Gurus in Aryavart. I suggest you seek someone knowledgeable for your purpose." Yuyutsu answered smoothly.

"I want you to train me. And you're knowledgeable enough for me." Chitrangada replied stubbornly.

"So much confidence in me? You don't even know who I am." Yuyutsu said with amusement dancing in his eyes.

"But I do know you have skills. Skills that I lack and can learn from you." Chitrangada said again.
"Human's worth is decided by his talents. I do not care for your name or address. For me, you're a highly skilled warrior passing through Manipura who can help me."

"And if I refuse?" Yuyutsu asked crossing his arms over his chest.

Chitrangada smirked slowly before raising her hand and making noise by twisting her fingers. In a few moments, soldiers came out from their hiding spots surrounding them.

"I'm not a fool to think I can take you forcefully all by myself. But trust me, unless I want, you cannot step a single foot outside Manipura." Chitrangada said staring at him.
"Look, you train me and go away in a few weeks after being heavily rewarded. It'll benefit both of us."

"Look around yourself. You'll find far more better warriors than me to train you." Yuyutsu said looking at Arjun nonchalantly. Arjun was alarmed and then thinking something came forward.

"Rajkumari, let him leave. He is not in the mood to train you." Arjun said requesting.

"Do I look like I care about his moods?" Chitrangada asked arching a brow.

"Dekhiye Rajkumari ji, inhe jane dijiye. Mukh dekhiye inka. Dekh kar hi pata cal raha hai, kitne vimukh hai yeh iss bichar se. Sambhabta aap ek stree hai, isiliye yeh aapko prasiksan nehi dena cahte.
(Let him leave, Rajkumari ji. Look at face. It's obviously shown in his face how much he detests the thought. Probably you're a woman, that's why he doesn't want to teach you)" Arjun said sympathetically.

Yuyutsu's eyes widened and Chitrangada's narrowed.

"What are you talking about?" Yuyutsu asked in surprise. Arjun glanced at both of their expressions and then hurriedly said,

"No. No. Not that way. What I meant is, he actually feels shy of girls. That's why."

"There's nothing like that." Yuyutsu retorted.

"See. He is even feeling shy in admitting. Let him go or he will have to make excuses." Arjun said again causing Yuyutsu to narrow his eyes slightly at him.

"No excuses will work. He will have to train me." Chitrangada said firmly.

"Why don't you find another teacher for yourself?!" Yuyutsu said in a bit annoyance.

"Yes. Find another teacher for yourself. Though there is no one else except me. Who will you learn from?" Arjun said again acting to contemplate on that.

"Why don't you train her?" Yuyutsu asked frowning at Arjun. He knew Arjun well enough to know something was cooking on his head.

"Main?!!! Haa. Main sikha sakta hu. Parantu sikhayu kya? Dhyaan karna? Aab inhe prasiksan na dena pade, isliye yeh maat keh dijiyega ki main koyi Atimaharathi hu.
(Me?! Yes. I can teach her. But what will I teach? Meditating? Now don't make me some Atimaharathi to escape training her.)" Arjun said causing Yuyutsu's jaw to go slack.

"Parantu Maharathi toh ho! (But you're a Maharathi!)" Yuyutsu said.

"Main? Maharathi???!!!!! (Me? Maharathi???!!!!!)" Arjun gave a surprised look to Yuyutsu and then turning towards Chitrangada said, "Haa. Haa. Main Maharathi hu. Balki main toh Maharathi veer dhanurdhar Arjun hu.
(Yes. Yes. I am a Maharathi. In fact I am brave archer, Maharathi Arjun.)"

"Main kya murkh dikhti hu? Jo kahoge main maan lungi? Yeh doo jodi bastra aur char badam wala tapaswi Gandhivdhari Arjun hai? Jubaan toh calna band hota nehi iska, dhanus kya calayega!

(Do I look like an idiot? I will believe whatever you say? This tapaswi living on two clothes and four almonds, is Gandhivdhari Arjun? His mouth doesn't stop working, when will his hands work on a bow!)" Chitrangada said making Yuyutsu speechless.

He kept staring stupendously as Arjun sighed sadly and said to Yuyutsu, "She is not believing. Now only you will have to train her."

In Indraprasth:

"You go inside. I will wait here only." A female said to the one standing with her in the premises of Mayamehel.

"Why will you wait here? You also come with me." The male said.

"No. They summoned you. I was worried to let you come alone. That's why I accompanied. You go. I will wait outside." The female replied and sent away the male.

She kept pacing around nervously thinking why would have they summoned him when a voice stopped her.

"Who are you?" A guard of the palace had spotted her.

The female stared only thinking what reply should she give.

"Why are you silent? I am asking you. Who are you and what are you doing here?" The guard asked again forcefully.

"I---I--" She stumbled for words to give a proper response.

"What is happening here?" Valandhara asked coming closer. She and Drisana went to the large temple situated in the middle of the town and was returning from there. The guard was with the troupe who escorted them only. Valandhara had stopped the palanquin outside the palace to greet some brahmans who had come to the Palace in the hope of getting some donations.

"I-I was actually waiting for someone." She finally said.

"Who are you waiting for?" Valandhara asked frowning slightly.

"My son. He has gone inside the palace." The woman replied politely.

"Who is your son and what--" Valandhara was asking but was interrupted by Drisana who came searching for her.

"Jiji, what are you---" Drisana stopped in middle as her gaze fell on the woman.

"Hidimba?"

Hidimba also recognised her and folded hands in greeting with a slight smile.

"Parnipat. You're here? In Indraprasth?" Drisana asked smiling at her.

"Actually, Vrikodar Bheem has remembered Ghatotkach. So, I came with him." Hidimba replied feeling a little at ease.

"Drisana, do you know her?" Asked a confused Valandhara.

"Yes, Dhara Jiji. She's our special guest. Years before, when Pandavs, Mata Kunti and I was in incognito exile, we met her there. She helped us back then. And Hidimba, this is Rajkumari Valandhara, bhrata Bheem's wife." Drisana introduced them and then addressed Hidimba.
"Why are you standing here? Come inside with us."

"No, no. I am good here only. Ghatotkach has gone inside. We will leave after he returns." Hidimba said.

She was surprised when Ghatotkach informed her that Bheem had summoned him and she was shocked after knowing that the family who saved and helped her years before, were actually the royals of Indraprasth. She had suspected so though witnessing the might of Bheem. But as the Rakshasa clan remained in their territory away from humans and their interaction lasted for a brief time, She had no idea that they were Pandavs, descendents of Kuru. And getting summoned suddenly in the Palace of Indraprasth had made Hidimba uneasy. So, she accompanied her son.

"No! How can we let you go just like that after you've come so far to meet us? Come inside and I am not hearing anything." Drisana said and didn't let her protest anymore. They ordered the palanquins to be taken away and decided to walk the rest of the way to the main Palace.

"Drisana, her son's name is Ghatotkach? Thora bicitra nam nehi hai? (Isn't it a little weird?)" Valandhara whispered to Drisana in between.

"Aapke pati ne hi rakhha hai. (Your husband only named him.)" Drisana whispered back with an amused smile.

Valandhara's eyes widened in surprise.

'Kuch bhi ho, iss bhaaloo ko main aapne baccho ka nam toh nehi rakhne dungi! Kya paata, kahi mere putra ka nam Ladduram rakh dia toh?!'
(Whatever happens, I won't let this bhaaloo name my children. Who knows, what if he names my son 'Ladduram'?!)

Valandhara thought with a shudder.

♧♧♧♧♧

"Will you be able to do it?" Sahdev asked explaining the plan to Ghatotkach.

There was a Maya (illusion) created in the forest where the Rakshasa clan lived which protected their territory. Once entered, no human could come out of it without their help. They got trapped inside.

Similarly, Sahdev wanted Ghatotkach to create a maya around entire Indraprasth which would prevent entry of any disguised person. If any person tried, an invisible door would lead them directly in the dungeon.
Which meant Indraprasth would be protected from disguised spy or enemy.

As for Mayamehel, there was already such a spell which prevented any unwanted intrusion. Someone could enter only from the entrances which were heavily guarded. But like Rasika, anyone could enter lying. To prevent that the entrance would be spelled as such so if a person with ill intention or hiding something dangerous like poison or weapon tried to enter, the entrance would be alight with raging fire preventing entry.

But, still one kind remained. Those who were truthful, did not take any disguise and had no ill intention apart from just selling information to other Kingdoms. For instance, an artesian who travelled Kingdom to Kingdom showing his talent, but at the same time transferring information of the Kingdoms they visited to other kings.
Those acted as assets sometimes unknowingly. So, they would be spared.

"Why not we seal whole Indraprasth? That way no one would be able to enter with any harmful objects?" Bheem asked with a frown.

"Because there are times when harmful objects are carried without any ill intention. For instance, the chemical used for polishing ornaments or the medicines carried by a Vaiyd could be harmful, but that depends on their uses and intentions. If we stop entry for all, it'll be foolishness on our part." Nakul replied him.

"And as for preventing entry to Mayamehel, our guards will be there to catch the person. But imagine if some King or diplomat of other Kingdom comes bearing hostility in mind and through the spell they land directly in dungeon, unwanted wars will ensue for sure." Sahdev added.

"So, we only prevent entry and later escort them inside knowingly or capture them." Yudhisthir finished.

"Will it be possible?" Bheem asked again arching a brow at Ghatotkach.

"A bit difficult, but possible. But I will need the blood of such a woman, who has shed the blood of 100 innocent warriors." Ghatotkach said making them frown.

"No. We cannot shed blood of a woman for our cause." Yudhisthir objected.

"We won't need to kill her. Just a little blood for sacrifice, would be enough." Ghatotkach said again.

"But where will we find such woman?" Nakul asked but added at Yudhisthir's frown, "The woman who has killed 100 innocent warriors, isn't faultless bhrata and as Ghatotkach said, we won't kill anyone."

"There is such a woman actually. But for that I will have to go to Pragjyotisha." Ghatotkach informed them.

In Manipura:

Arjun moaned as the Rasgulla (sweet item) melted on his mouth. This was served as offering in the ashram where they were staying.

"What was that?" Yuyutsu asked staring at him with irritation.

"Rasgulla. Aapko nehi diya kya? (Didn't they give you?)" Arjun said casually.

"I am not talking about Rasgulla. What was that outside? In front of Rajkumari Chitrangada?" Yuyutsu asked gritting his jaw.

"Accha woh! Woh Drisana mantra 238 tha. Jab kisi ko satya batana na ho, aur mittha bolne par pakde jane ka bhay ho, toh satya ko hi kuch iss prakar prakash karo taki satya hi mittha pratit ho.
(Oh that! That was Drisana mantra 238. When you do not wish to say the truth, but there's a chance of getting caught if you lie, then tell the truth only in such a way so it seems untrue.)"
Arjun replied with a shrug. Yuyutsu only stared at him aghast hearing his reply.

Yuyutsu had to give in to the demands of Chitrangada as she was adamant and wasn't ready to listen anything else. So, Yuyutsu had agreed on the condition that he would take a test of Chitrangada too to determine either she was worthy of teaching or not and if Chitrangada passed, then only he would train her. Chitrangada had accepted the deal.

"Look bhrata Yuyutsu, that stubborn Princess wouldn't have heard anything. Because I have understood one thing, that when she sets her eye on something, she gets that by hook or crook. And the news of me being here will spread like wildfire. After the attempted attack by Takshak, I do not want that. Besides, my weapons are laying unprotected in Indraprasth near my wife. I want them to remain unharmed." Arjun said calmly.

"You've gone full mad after marriage." Yuyutsu said after hearing his last words.

"Pehle aap vivha kar lo. Uske paschat yeadhi aapka mastisk thik raha, toh baat karenge. (You get married first. If you don't get mad after that then we will talk.)" Arjun said with a sarcastic smile.

Hello readers!!!

How was it?

Don't doubt Yuyutsu. He was a dhanurdhari too and had the divine knowledge of bows and arrows except Brahmastra.

We all know Guru Drona gave Brahmastra to only Arjun and Ashwathama.

Among his students, only two other were remarkable archers.

Yuyutsu and Vikarna.

Another large misconception is about Bheem, Hidimba and Ghatotkach....

1. Bheem never fell in love or got attracted to Hidimba. After killing Hidimb, Pandavs and Kunti continued their journey and Hidimba kept following them. At that time Bheem repeatedly threatened Hidimba to leave their trail or he will kill her too.

Hidimba then begged Kunti to order Bheem to marry her. Kunti and Yudhisthir felt pity on her (or saw a political opportunity to gain power) and agreed, but there was 2 conditions
          1. Bheem would only remain with her at day time as after sunset the power of Rakshasas increases.
          2. Bheem would remain with her until the birth of their son.

Hidimba agreed and thus, for one year Hidimba took Bheem with her to visit many places at daytime and returned him to his mother and brothers before sunset.

The star plus version of Bheem becoming the Rakshasa King and living with Rakshasas is completely false. Bheem was forced to marry her.

2. Hidimba was a Rakshasi and humans were her food. She actually did not have a good heart when she approached Pandavs in forest. Her mouth watered with the smell of human flesh. But, when she saw Bheem, she changed her mind. But that did not mean she became a pure non-human eater.

There's a tale actually....

Once Hidimba ordered Ghatotkach to bring a human for sacrifice and Ghatotkach went to obey his mother. He found a Brahman family and told one of them to come willingly or he will forcefully take one. The second son of the family agreed to come. At the way, the brahman boy requested Ghatotkach to let himself clean in a lake. Ghatotkach agreed. There Bheem came. Upon inquiry when he found out what Ghatotkach was doing, he told the brahman boy to go back to his family.
And when Ghatotkach asked what about his mother's order, Bheem answered he had a human just in front of him. Bheem told him, he himself will go for the sacrifice if Ghatotkach defeated him in a duel.
Ghatotkach was aghast at the suggestion and refused to duel with his father and left empty-handed.

3. Hidimba and Ghatotkach both came at Indraprasth to visit Pandavs. In fact Krishna was also visiting Indraprasth at that time. There's a very interesting tale here which I will describe later.

There's another story where Draupadi and Hidimba ends up cursing each other's child which resulted in Ghatotkach and upapandavs deaths later in Kurukshetra.

4. It is also said that at the time of their exile, when Pandavs and Draupadi got tired, Ghatotkach and his few Rakshasa friend carried them to their destination. More specifically, it was Draupadi whom Ghatotkach carried.

5. Yes. Ghatotkach's death was planned by Krishna. But very lesser known fact is Yudhisthir was the one who was the most closest to him and was the most depressed one. And Rishi Ved Vyas had to console him afterwards.

So, the question is....why are we so quick to call Bheem a selfish father and a cruel bully who doesn't have a brain and acts cruelly all the time? Why we forcefully conclude that Bheem didn't care for Ghatotkach?

Swayam bichar kijiye....😃😃😃
