Sighing to himself he closed the file and looked outside of his cabin and saw Avni working. He smiles seeing her dedication but a second later his smile faded away seeing a boy coming there and pulling a chair sitting beside her so close.

He clenched his fists and his jaw tightness as he witnessed them laughing on something. His fists balled up and he stares them angrily.

He didn't understand why he is getting bottled up seeing her with a guy so close. Why is she affecting him so much.

He composing himself and shaking his head diverts his gaze away from there.

He got back to reading the file but his thoughts ran over them. He glanced them between and had having enough he closed the file and got up moving out his cabin.

He got near them and still heard them laughing like an idiot. He stood there putting his arms against his chest with stern expression on his face.

He clears his throat gaining their attention. Avni who burst out laughing hearing the joke that her colleague cracked couldn't help herself from laughing her heart out but immediately stopped as she heard him clearing his throat.

She looks at her and a lump got stuck in her throat as she stares him confusingly who was throwing deadly glares at the person sitting beside her.

Neil : what is happening here? This is my office to work but a circus where you would waste your time? I am not paying you for this. Get back to work.

He shouted at the poor fellow who turning at Avni and muttering a sorry walked away from there leaving them alone.

Neil looks at Avni who shook her head at his attitude and turns back to her computer ignoring Neil making him irritated.

Neil : why are you ignoring me? Avni speak to me.

Avni : what is wrong with you sir? Why are you shouting? I am not ignoring you.

Neil : really! You ain't ignoring me.

Avni : no! I am not!

Neil sighs and moves closer to her making her breath hitch. She moves her chair back and got up.

Avni : what are you doing Neil? This is office.

Neil : I know that! Why were you laughing with him? Who is he?

Avni shook her head in disbelief seeing Neil behaving like a spoiled child.

Avni : where does it say that I can't laugh and with who I can't? Neil you are not making any sense. What has gone into you? You are behaving so strangely lately.

Neil : there is nothing wrong with me. I don't like him being close to you.

Avni : why is that Neil? He ain't going to harm me.

Neil : I don't feel good seeing you with him.

Avni : Neil! There is nothing wrong with him. He is just my colleague.

Neil : you won't get it!

Neil walks back to his cabin not wanting to make it worse. Last night Neil had figured that there something between them. He couldn't name it what but he knew she meant something to him more than employer in his company.

His heart fastens whenever he is with her. He never felt with any other girls, it just lust and flings with them but being around Avni he felt something that he called a home. Like Avni feels safe with him, he feels safe with her.

Avni shaking her head sat back down and saving the work, she decided to take a break.

She got up and moves to canteen. She ordered something for herself and sat in the corner of the canteen, she still doesn't have much friends in the office.

She only talks with her team when its needed. It wasn't easy to her, those days still hunts her. Her pain is still behind the smile that she carries.

Unwrapping the packet she starts having her lunch. She was still in her world didn't realise when someone next to her.

She flinched feeling a hand on her shoulder, she looks at the person and saw Ricky, the guy who was crush on her. She caught him glancing many times looking at her with different emotions in his eyes, she also heard people around her saying that he likes her.

She has always avoided him but sometime they still come face to face. She kept her hand on her heart and looks at him angrily.

Avni : what the heck is your problem? Why do you always scare me? You almost gave me heart attack.

He smirks and puts his hand on her heart making her flinch his hand away.

Ricky : I don't want to give you attack but I want your love.

He softly muttered under his breath but it was enough audible for Avni to hear.

Avni : what did you say?

Ricky : nothing! I didn't say a word. Why are you sitting by yourself alone? Come join me.

She glanced at the table where his friends sitting passing a disgusted look. She turns back looking at Ricky.

Avni: no! I am okay! I am almost done.

She picks her half finished food and starts walking out of the canteen. She didn't miss few comments made on her as she walked passed them.

Girl : what a desperate bitch she is? Always looking for attention.

Girl 2: exactly, god knows how she got the job? She must have slept with Neil sir...

Nasty comment were thrown for her and no dared to speak against them, instead they joined them and laughed. Not bearing their assaults she speeds go and walked away.

She wipes her tears up and moves to her desk not realising when she bumped into hard chest. She looks up and stares his eyes who looked worried seeing her teary eyes.

He didn't a word but holding her hand dragged her to his cabin. He closed the door and looks at her who stood there looking down.

Neil : why are you crying? Who made you cry?

His anger was on peak seeing her eyes filled with tears.

Neil : don't test my patience Avni! Tell me what happened. Why are you crying? Why is there tears in your eyes? Look up and answer me.

He sighs and moving closer to her, tilts her head up making her look into his eyes.

Neil : what happened? Did someone say something to you?

Avni shook her head still staring into his eyes. He knew she was lying to him.

Neil : don't lie! I know you're lying! Tell me the truth.

Avni: I am not lying. Something went my eyes. I am not crying.

Neil : and you want me to believe on that. Do I look a stupid to you?

Avni: I am not lying. Leave me!

She pushed him and tried to leave but he held her back.

Neil : why? Why are you lying? Speak up the truth Avni.

Avni : I don't know what you are talking about.

Neil : you won't tell me! Fine! Go!

He left her and she ran out from the cabin. He frustratedly ruffles his hair and turning back through heard her slamming the door.

He sighs and knew something happened that made her upset.

He sat down and dialling intercom calls the reception number.

Shivangi : hello sir! How can help you? You need something?

Neil: stop with your questions. When does your shift end?

Shivangi : huh!

She got confused hearing him.

Neil : stop being confuse. You heard me right! When does it end?

Shivangi : in half an hour sir! Is there something i need to do  before taking a break?

Neil : yes! Come into my cabin then go on your e break.

Shivangi : okay sir!

Neil ended the call and taking his phone out calls someone.

Avni wiping her tears and washing her face in the washroom looks herself in the mirror.

Avni ( mind) how can be so weak? Why is it affecting me? It never affected me before then why now.  Those comments shouldn't affect me because I am worser than that. It shouldn't affect me. Why am I being upset? This is first time someone called that. I should lose my confidence.

She tried to be strong than being broken and weak. Last time glancing herself she walks out of the washroom and went back to her desk. 

Neil opening the door enters inside the car and found it quietly. He was pissed off since Avni didn't come home with him.

He takes his shoes off and walks living hall. He sat down and takes glass of water as the maid brought it soon as she heard him entering.

He drank it and returns it back to her.

Neil : where is Avni?

Maid : she is sleeping. She said, she is tired and not disturb her.

Neil: did she eat?

Maid : no! She refused it. She wasn't hungry.

Neil sighs and gesturing maid to leave he takes his stuff and headed towards his room. 

Neil changed into casual and taking his phone with went to check on Avni.

He pushed the door and saw her asleep. He sighs and moving closer to her noticed her cheeks dried due to tears.

He took a deep breath and sighing to himself closing the door left the room.
