His eyes fell on Avni who was still working, he saw her how effortlessly she have working since she joined the office.

He was definitely proud of her and had faith she will do much better in her field. He has also noticed her love and passionate regarding arts and sketches.

At home he tried many times to talk about her but didn't never happened as she kept herself closed from him once she arrives home.

He doesn't know how can one person show two different behaviour at two different place. She is very open minded and dedicated towards her work and teams but at home she is mysterious girl.

Neil sighs and closing the file he gets up and walks out of his cabin.

He walks up to Avni's desk and stood there waiting Avni to notice his presence but nothing happened like that.

He clears his throat gaining her attention.

Avni snaps her head and looks at Neil confusingly.

Avni : sir! What are you doing here?

Neil : how come you still here? Why are you overworking your time?

Avni : I had to finish this before Monday.

Neil : you don't need to overwork Avni. You should go home and rest.

Avni : what about you sir? Aren't you going back home?

Neil : I have some work to complete.

Avni : really sir! Wasn't someone telling me off about overworking, then how come you are doing same thing?

Neil: i am the boss Avni! I can do whatever I want.

Avni: off course sir you can do whatever you want hence you're the boss. Who am I to say anything.

Avni starts wrapping her stuff and looks at Neil who stood there watching her.

Avni : I should leave now! I will see you next day sir!

Neil rolls his eyes and crossing his arms against his chest looks at Avni.

Neil : wait by my car! I will come in a minute!

Avni simply nodded her head and grinning herself as a victory walks away leaving Neil moving back to his cabin.

Neil taking his blazer and few files in his hand walks out the office and starts walking to car park.

He found Avni there standing leaning against his car. He shook his head and unblocks his car making her jump.

He chuckles at her antics and starts moving towards her.

Neil : get inside the car!

He opens the driver side and sat down, he looks at other side and found Avni seated on the passenger seat.

Neil glancing at Avni pulls the car on the road, he turns the radio in between.

He speeds up and takes next left making Avni look at him confused.

Avni: this is not way back to home?

Neil : correct! We are not going home but a restaurant.

Avni : restaurant! Why?

Neil : because I am hungry. Aren't you hungry?

Avni: maybe little bit! But I could have cooked at home.

Neil : I know! And much as  I devours home food made by, I am craving to eat at an restaurant.

Avni : fine! You win!

Neil smiles and stops at the one of his favourite restaurants, they both got down the car and starts walking inside the restaurant.

Neil : I can get a table for two!

Waiter : yes sir! Please come this way.

The waiter leaded the way to their table. Neil thanks the waiter.

Waiter : please have a seat, we will shortly be with you.

Neil nodded his head and pulls a chair for Avni gesturing her to take a seat. Avni smiles at Neil and sat down.

Neil also sat down and looks around the restaurant to find quieter than usual.

Neil turns his gaze back to Avni who flips pages through the menu. He then calls the waiter who came to take their order.

Neil : what would you like to eat?

Avni : I am so confused. What would you suggest?

Neil also looks at the menu and said few things with explaining the dish to Avni.

They looked at the waiter and placed their order.

Waiter : sir! It will be served within 20 minutes. I will get your drinks right away.

Neil nodded their head. The waiter went away while Neil looks at Avni.

Neil : Avni I am not your boss here but as a friend.

Avni got startled with this type of question from Neil but nevertheless looks at him to continue.

Neil : how is work? How have you coping with new role, responsibilities and overall how are you finding it? I mean no one is forcing or troubling in office. You do know, you can come to me with any complains or problems you may have.

Avni : I know Neil. I am thankful meeting you. Because you, I am able to stand for myself. I am feeling so much stronger and confident. I would never forget your kindness.

Neil : how is work? are you enjoying it?

Avni : work is good! I am getting there. I am liking what I am doing. Though it stressful but I am getting there. Like you said there any problems, I will come to you.

Neil smiles and looks at the waiter who brought their drinks and Neil thanked him again.

Avni : can I ask you something?

Neil : yeah sure!

Avni : i heard a lot of things about which is not true. Why is that? Why are you different? I mean in office you have so much attitude and cold to everyone and herd so soft and friendly.

Neil : I am only soft to my people. I don't know what connection we may have but I feel protective towards you.

Neil poured his heart out knowing there is no way he could hide his own feelings, even he is confused with his own behaviour.

Avni felt butterflies jumping inside her stomach. For the first time someone was protective over her. Her heart burst out with happiness and gratitude.

Avni : how can I thank you?

Neil : you don't have to thank me Avni. I want you to be happy.

Avni smiles and took a sip of her drink.

Avni : this is good!

Neil also drank his drink and they both continued talking about work when they were disturbed by the waiter who served then the food.

Avni gasped seeing so much food on the table. She worriedly looks at Neil who dreamily stares the food making her chuckle.

Avni : you behaving like a lovesick puppy.

Neil didn't respond but attacks on the food.
Avni also starts eating while chatting with Neil.

Neil paid the bill and looks at Avni.

Neil : what do you want to do now? Home or somewhere else?

Avni : I don't know. Where can we go?

Neil : I know a place! They also sell amazing ice cream.

Avni : wow! Ice cream.

Neil nodded his head. They both went settled in the car. Neil drove to the place.

They comes out and Avni was amazed to see the place. Neil brought for themselves a ice cream.

Neil : I really like this place.

Avni : it's beautiful.  I really like it!

Neil smiles and they continued to walk with distance between them.
