Confrontation
NXT
December 5, 2023
The show begins as everyone was ready for tonight as it will be the last Iron Survivor Qualifying Match for both men and women at NXT Deadline. Also, Daikon Black, who has been on a role since his debut, has become the #1 Contender for Dominik's NXT North American Championship. Many were happy that someone is going to bring the title back as Dom was flaunting it around RAW, disrespecting the NXT crowd and Superstars. And know, someone in the roster, one with having around 6 years of experiencing long title reigns, respecting the history of each, is going to bring it home.
The show begins as normal until...

The crowd pops as the lights went out and Daikon's shadow appears as he comes out.
Vic Joseph: Folks, you're not hearing things—that's Daikon Black's entrance music, but why now? He isn't scheduled to compete tonight!
Booker T: Man, I gotta tell you, I'm just as shocked as everyone else here. Daikon stepping out when he's not on the card? This isn't just unusual; it's unheard of! What's he up to?
Soon, as the beat hit, the flights came back on in a violet color as the titantron shows a interesting logo.
Vic Joseph: Look at him, Booker. Daikon doesn't seem to be here for a fight, but you can never tell with him. The intensity is off the charts!
Booker T: That's right, Vic. You know, Daikon always has a plan. He's not the type to show up without a reason. Could be a message he's about to deliver, or maybe he's setting up something big for the future.
Daikon walks down the ramp as everyone cheers and bows to him while singing his theme song. Soon, he walks around the ring and and hops over the barricade. He glares at a woman who was sitting at the front row, which scared her, as she leaves the seat to find another.
Daikon then sat down on the front row seat and closed his eyes, before snapping his fingers, ending his theme and setting everything back to normal. Everyone cheered as Daikon sat there, arms crossed, eyes closed, and calm. Which makes the fans around him and Vic and Booker nervous.
Vic Joseph: And just like that, silence. Daikon Black has just taken a front row seat, folks, and honestly, I'm not sure what to make of this. This isn't just a surprise appearance; it feels like a statement.
Booker T: I hear you, Vic. Look at him—arms crossed, eyes closed. He's like a storm waiting to happen. It's making everyone around him uneasy. You gotta wonder, what is going through his mind right now?
The camera pans to show fans nearby, some trying to sneak pictures, others simply staring, unsure of how to react to this proximity to such an unpredictable figure. The commentators continue to try to make sense of the situation.
Vic Joseph: He's not just a spectator tonight, that's for sure. This is Daikon Black, a man who commands attention just by being present. There's got to be a reason he chose to be this close to the action without being a part of it.
Booker T: Absolutely, Vic. And whatever that reason is, it's clear he wants us all to be on the edge of our seats. Just look at the tension he's created here! Everyone's on high alert, wondering if he's going to spring into action or if this is just his new way of scouting the competition.
*later*
We see the the Fatal 4-Way match between Fallon Henley, Kiana James, Roxanne Perez, and Thea Hail in the last qualification of the Women's Iron Survivor Challenge. However, each women, during the match, would see Daikon sitting on the front row, eyes closed, arms crossed, and just eerily calm making them uncomfortable.
Vic Joseph: You can feel the intensity in the ring, but there's another story unfolding here ringside. Daikon Black hasn't moved a muscle, his eyes are closed, and yet you can tell every competitor has noticed him there. It's like a psychological game just having him this close.
Booker T: That's right, Vic. You see Fallon just threw a glance his way before that last move. It's messing with them, man. They're trying to focus on the match, but having Daikon Black sitting there, so... deliberate—it's got to throw you off your game.
The camera occasionally flicks back to Daikon, capturing the contrast between the dynamic chaos in the ring and his serene stillness. As the match progresses, the women's reactions vary from confusion to frustration, with each competitor clearly disturbed by his unexplained presence.
Vic Joseph: Look at Kiana James now—she almost seemed to hesitate there. Was it because of Daikon? This is no ordinary spectator effect; his presence is a psychological element all its own.
Booker T: And don't forget, Vic, Daikon isn't just any spectator. This guy's a legend with a deep history in the business. The competitors know it, the fans know it, and his silent watch is speaking volumes right now.
Soon, Fallon wins the match, thus becoming the last contender in the Iron Survivor Challenge, but Daikon didn't even react. He stayed still, eyes closed, still having his arms crossed.

Daikon still sat there as several segments backstage were shown, still having his eyes closed and arms crossed, which made the crowd feel uneased yet captivated by his silence and motionless.
Then...
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
The crowd boos as Dominik Mysterio comes out, looking smug and confident as he did last week. He makes his way to the ring as he points at Daikon and laughs at him. Daikon didn't even flinch when Dom's theme played, which is very unnerving how he's not even reacting.
Vic Joseph: Here comes Dominik Mysterio, oozing arrogance. And look at him taunting Daikon Black. It's bold, it's brash, but Daikon? Not a twitch, not a blink. He's like he's carved out of stone.
Booker T: This is mind games on another level, Vic. Dom thinks he's getting under Daikon's skin, but look at Daikon—nothing. That's got to be unsettling for Dom. He's used to getting some kind of rise out of people.
Dominik climbs into the ring, still keeping his eyes on Daikon, trying to gauge any reaction. His smug smile fades a bit as he realizes that his attempts to disturb the calm of the former wrestling giant have no effect.
Vic Joseph: You have to wonder what's going through Dominik's mind right now. He's used to being the provocateur, the one who gets under your skin. But facing someone like Daikon, who won't give him the satisfaction of a reaction, that's got to throw him off.
Booker T: That's exactly it, Vic. Daikon sitting there, calm and collected, it sends a message. It says, 'You can try all you want, but you're not in control here.' And that's something Dom's not used to dealing with.
Dom's theme fades as he demands a mic. He gets one as he tries to speak, but gets booed by the crowd. Daikon remained silent and motionless, keeping his eyes shut. Dom tries to speak again, but gets booed again. Then a chant rang out, "You're a Victim!" which annoyed him. Then another chant rang out, "God of Justice!" as the camera shows Daikon, still motionless and still in his world inside his mind.
Then the last one set Dominik off, "Drop the Title/Walk Away!" as the crowd knew Daikon would crush Dominik and are just telling him to give up the title and leave NXT.
Booker T: "This is psychological dismantling, Vic. 'Drop the Title/Walk Away'—that's not just a chant; that's a direct challenge to his pride, his standing in NXT. The crowd's made their choice. They don't see Dominik as their champion if Daikon steps up.
Dominik yells back at the crowd, unable to form coherent words over the uproar.
Vic Joseph: Dominik's lost it, Booker. He can't even get a word out without the universe shutting him down. This is a tough night for him, and if he doesn't find a way to turn this around, he might just be proving them right.
Booker T: He's got to find some inner strength, Vic. But with Daikon sitting there, silent and stoic, it's like having the ghost of your future defeat staring you in the face. Dominik needs to dig deep or he's going to be remembered as the guy who lost it before the fight even started.
Daikon remained silent as Dom finally spoke as he stares at the silent God of Justice.
Dom: This is your fault you know that?
The crowd boos as Daikon remain still, eyes closed from the world around him.
Dom: You know, this would never have happened if you didn't come to WarGames and help Cody beat Judgement Day. Hell, this wouldn't have happened if you haven't come to RAW and make everyone chant your name to discourage Rhea and the others. And, also, this wouldn't have happened if you didn't give that stupid Rose to Mami, insulting her pride and making her feel lesser of a being than you.
Fan: Because she is!
Dom: Shut up!
The crowd booed and laughed as Daikon tried to not make a smirk, feeling that the fan arguing with Dom was funny.
Dom: And now that you're #1 Contender for my Title, I promise you, Wannabe God, that I'll make your life a living Hell all the way to Deadline, and trust me, my Judgement day buddies will be at my side to make you regret ever making us your enemy.
Younger Fan: You just made them his targets, idiot!
The crowd laughs and oohed by the fan calling out Dominik, since it's true. He's putting targets on them without even knowing. Dom glares at the fan before leaving the ring and goes in front of Daikon.
Dom: Mind your business, brat. *gets booed* And you... *looks at Daikon.* I'll make you regret coming here to WWE, and I will beat you and do what my father, Eddie Guerrero, did and steal your medals-
The crowd oohs as a haunting chill ran down everyone's spines as Daikon finally opens his eyes. Dom froze he stares into the Soulless and Chaotic Grey eyes of Daikon Black, as if he looking at his future and was scared off what's to come.
Vic Joseph: Oh, my... Daikon Black just opened his eyes, and look at that intensity! It's like he's staring right through Dominik. You can feel that chill in the air, Booker.
Booker T: I'm telling you, Vic, those aren't just eyes; those are portals to a storm, man. Dom thought he was playing mind games, but he just got a front-row seat to a real psychological thriller. He's looking into those eyes and seeing a future he's not ready for.
The camera cuts between Daikon's unblinking gaze and Dominik's visibly shaken demeanor. Dominik, visibly struggling to maintain his composure, slowly backs away, his bravado crumbling under the weight of Daikon's silent scrutiny.
Vic Joseph: Dominik looks like he's seen a ghost. Those eyes of Daikon, they don't just scare you; they pierce you, they unsettle everything you think you know about yourself and your place in this world.
Booker T: And that's the power of Daikon Black, Vic. He doesn't need to say a word. His presence, those eyes—they communicate everything he wants to say. Dominik came out here trying to make a statement, but it looks like Daikon just wrote the whole narrative without uttering a single word.
Daikon stood up as he stares coldly at Dominik. He then steps over the barricade, which made Dom get even more scared as he runs off.
Vic Joseph: Daikon Black just stepped over the barricade like it was nothing, and I think that was the last straw for Dominik Mysterio. He's running now, literally running from what many would say is his inevitable confrontation with Daikon.
Booker T: I've seen a lot in my career, Vic, but the psychological edge Daikon is wielding tonight is something else. It's like he's playing chess and everyone else is playing checkers. Dominik doesn't just think he's outmatched physically; he's been outplayed mentally, too.
Dominik ran to the stage as Daikon slowly follows him, just to make him feel fear. Soon, Dom stood at the stage as Daikon stopped in between the ring and the ramp as he stares at Dominik. Soon, the lights when dark as Dom looks on and stares at Daikon's unnerving stare through the darkness.
Soon, the arena went pitch blank, spooking the crowd. When the lights came on, Daikon is nowhere to be seen.
Dominik, however, still stares at where Daikon stood, shaken and still having that cold stare in his mind and soul. He knew one thing though:
The Deity of Judgement has left a message without words.
*backstage, offscreen.*
Paul: Wow... never in my mind that a statement was made without a promo or any emotions. You managed to stay seated at ringside, barely reacting to the women in their match, and not even reacting to Dominik trying to egg you on. You're remarkable, Daikon.
Daikon: *gives a bow* Thank you, Hunter. Dominik told me the same and how his emotions on camera were real.
Paul: Indeed. You cannot act that kind of fear, especially when you know how legit you are in world of fighting.
Daikon: Yes. Are there any plans for me before Deadline?
Paul: One... I want you to appear on Smackdown.
Daikon: *eyes widen* On Smackdown?
Paul: Yes. You see, Roman was made aware of the fact you were not only the one who won Three Gold Medals in the Summer Olympics during that reign in Fighting Games, but also, who held the IWGP Heavyweight Championship for 4 years, even before his reign began. So, you're going to have a meeting with him, but also will have a match against Solo Sikoa.
Daikon:
Daikon: Careful, Hunter. You're spoiling me.
Paul: *chuckles* Hey, I wouldn't do it to anybody, but you, I'll make the exception.
Daikon: Alright. I'll be there on Smackdown. I can imagine the crowd would be eager to see the two long reigning Champions in the ring.
Paul: Indeed. Have a good night.
Daikon bows before he walks away, a bit excited for what's to come on Friday.
How's the chapter?
What do you think of this entire moment?
How would the meeting between Roman and Daikon be and especially the match between him and Solo?
