1(short version)
Getting the news of Dussala's whereabouts Yuvraj Duryodhan arrived at Dravida and Gandhar Raj Shakuni followed him. But it was at the time when Dussala was present at the court demanding Maharani Mangalya punish her son.
Everyone at the court tried to make her understand that it wouldn't be right, but dussala heard nothing. Shakuni and Duryodhan entered the family court of Dravida supporting her. Dhikshit and Duryodhan was at the verge of breaking into a fight right there. But was refrained from doing so.
"Maharani! You people talk so much about the suffering of women and are determined to give justice to all. Then why would my niece be deprived of it?"
"No one will be deprived, Gandhar Raj. Dussala has lost all dear to her. Her vermillion, her home, her son and her respect too. Though Dhikshit never intended it to be, but her character has been maligned using Dhikshit's name. So, the right justice here will be to return her everything that she has lost."
Maharani Mangalya looked at all the confused faces before announcing.
"Yuvraj Duryodhan, in absence of her parents, as the guardian of Rajkumari Dussala, I ask you for your sister's hand in marriage for my son, Rajkumar Dhikshit."
Shock would be an understatement for what everyone felt at that moment. Arguments went on for a while before Duryodhan agreed for the proposal.
This alliance would put Dravida in a neutral position between Hastinapur and Indraprasth. They wouldn't be able to support Indraprasth against Hastinapur in future. Though Dussala didn't want to get remarried in the first place, least of all to Dhikshit, Duryodhan made her compliant by reminding her of the horrible choices and deeds of the past that she had foolishly made Duryodhan a part too.
Dhikshit threw up a fit as he refused to accept that vile woman as his wife. But Maharani Mangalya requested him to respect her wish.
On the very next day, the wedding took place in Dravida. Rajkumar Dhikshit became numb. The only thing he remembered was the face of a dead girl, whom he had loved with all he had!
Vaishnavi!
She was a commoner in Hastinapur and also worked in the palace for Rajkumari Dussala. And that's how Rajkumar Dhikshit met Rajkumari Dussala for the first time. As a commoner. She had no knowledge of Dhikshit being a Prince. And used to tease both him and Vaishnavi a lot.
Rajkumar Dhikshit was absolutely smitten with Vaishnavi. To the point where he expressed his wish of marrying her to his father, Maharaj Drishadvat.
But everything shattered before he could tell everything to Vaishnavi and bring her to Dravida.
The last time he went to meet her was the day of his birthday and it was coincidentally Rajkumari Dussala's birthday too. Rajkumari Dussala, along with her new husband had come to Hastinapur to celebrate her birthday that year. Vaishnavi was busy in her work inside the palace. She had told earlier to Dhikshit that she would meet him later that night. But she never came.
On the very next day when Rajkumar Dhikshit went to her home, he got to know that Vaishnavi was dead. Another maid of the palace who was also Vaishnavi's friend told him about everything that had aspired that night.
Vaishnavi was just doing her job of decorating Rajkumari Dussala's chamber when Sindhuraj Jayadrath found her. Dussala was busy with her mother and when she came back to her chamber, she found a very much injured and raped Vaishnavi beside her drunk husband. A devastated Dussala could think of no one, but remember only her Jyesth for help. As Duryodhan arrived and took in the scene, he was furious at Jayadrath. But Dussala begged him to save her husband. If anyone heard about this and words got to Pitamah Bhismah, Jayadrath would lose his life. Mahamahim Bhismah would never let this crime under his roof slide unpunished.
Being helpless in front of his love for his sister, Duryodhan did the unthinkable. A crime which he hated himself for doing!
He killed Vaishnavi. After that he secretly took her body outside the palace and threw her body into the river. The next day the body was discovered by the villagers, but no one knew what happened to her except the maid friend of Vaishnavi's who had seen everything.
Dhikshit lost his mind in grief and wanted to attack Duryodhan. He was blinded for revenge. He was going towards the palace of Hastinapur after hearing everything. But destiny brought Rajkumari Dussala in front of him. He confronted her for Vaishnavi's death. Dussala became afraid and refused to talk at first. She even threatened to punish him for false accusations.
"Whom are you going to punish Rajkumari? It's your husband and brother who are going to be punished for their crimes! I will bring hell to Hastinapur. I will burn this whole kingdom to ashes."
"Too much big talks from a nobody like you! If you don't go away right now, I will call the guards and hang you till death."
"How can you be this selfish? Do you have no humanity remaining? How can you defend that monster!"
"Watch your mouth! I will not hear a single word about him! Go! And besides, he is a King! A trained Ksatriya! You won't even be able to touch him!"
"(Abbasya karunga! Ek din tumhare hi netro ke samne uska mastak uske dhar se aalag kar dunga, Rajkumari! Aur yeh mera bachan hain tumse.
Bachan hai Dravida ke Rajkumar Dhikshit ka!)
I will. I will behead him one day right in front of your eyes, Rajkumari! And that is my promise to you.
The promise of the Prince of Dravida, Dhikshit."
