Slippers
My story, or evolution as I like to call it, with slippers has happened over a significant amount of time. When I was a wee child I loved to walk, run, crawl without anything on my feet. To the point where I would go home at the end of the day with the soles of my feet looking like they gathered all the dust from the world.
At that point my mom made me clean my feet three times a day, and although it was tiring I never stopped and thought of the simple solution of wearing slippers.
So it went on, I would come back with black and blue feet, and injuries that God knows where they came from because I had no clue. I always was a clumsy lad, still am, so any possible chance of me getting mildly injured my future grabbed.
Then I started getting older, noticing how all the girls wore pretty pink slippers with barbie somewhere on there. I felt excluded, but I really didn't care as up to second grade all of my friends where boys. Until the boys no longer saw me as an equal, said I couldn't do the same things they did which sparked that war I think I once talked about.
Anyway I ended up switching up the amount of male friends to female. I started loving slippers, stopped running as much, and being "manly". I became a tomboy for a time, and then fully blossomed into the spineless girl society wanted me to be.
Until I grew, and I heard about equality, and knew what I went through was societies way of conforming me into the gender role that a child girl is "supposed to be".
❤️ Be strong, and don't let the worlds roles for you conform you into being anything you are not ❤️
