"IF ICARUS COULD SEE ME NOW" For anyone who doesn't know, Icarus is a character from a Greek myth. He and his father Daedalus tried to escape from the island of Crete, where they were stuck, by creating wings of wax and feathers. Daedalus told his son not to fly too close to the sun, and Icarus agreed. But once they were in the air, Icarus got excited, and flew higher and higher. The wax on his wings melted from the heat of the sun, and they came apart, leaving Icarus to fall to his death. Earlier in the Journal, Fiddleford tells Ford not to forget what happened to Icarus. This is basically just a warning not to be foolhardy or reckless.
