Prompt #3 for @-midnightsky

   "Please, please listen to me!"
His breathing was ragged, as he swerved into the next lane, trying to go faster.
"Caelum," the voice on the other end said slowly, and calmly. "Cae, please don't come. It's okay."
"No!" Caelum's voice was nearly a scream. "Hyun, please listen to me. You are smart, awesome, and the best guy I've ever met. You're my best friend! Don't do this. Please, please don't do this."
"I'm sorry." There was so much sudden emotion in Hyun's voice, it made Caelum's heart sink. "I-I can't go on like this. I can't let myself keep holding you back. You deserve a life unburdened by me. It's okay," he repeated.
It was partially true. Sometimes Caelum was frustrated that his best friend was unable to do almost anything for himself. Sometimes he wished that he didn't have to take care of his friend, while he could be out partying, or studying. But he didn't blame Hyun. And he didn't ever expect his friend to take it this far.
Caelum had started taking Hyun to therapy ever since the idea of suicide had come up. He'd tried everything he could think of, to talk his friend out of it. But now he was caught in a difficult situation. Hyun was at home, and Caelum was trying to get home to him from work.
Five minutes ago, Hyun had called Caelum to inform him of his plan.
Caelum's only hope was to keep Hyun talking.
But he still needed to hurry.
It was 6:45, as he pulled into the fast lane, and began to plead to Hyun.
"Just, please think. What would I do, without my very best friend?"
"You'd find a new one, who was able to take care of himself." He sighed. "Maybe a girlfriend. Maybe you'll get married. Have a family. Without me, there are so many more options and opportunities."
   6:49.
"Hyun, I don't need anyone but my best friend. I would be broken, beyond repair, if you-you... did that."
   6:50.
"Caelum, I'm sorry. I don't want to hurt you. I want to help. You deserve so much more than me."
   6:51.
Caelum pulled into the exit, and neared his neighbourhood.
   6:52.
"I just want to say, goodbye."
   6:53
He felt the conversation wrapping up.
   6:54.
"Please don't do this." He couldn't think of anything else to say.
   6:55.
"Thank you for being the best friend I could have asked for."
   6:56.
   Caelum pulled onto his street.
   6:57.
He was in sight of their rental house.
   6:58.
He was out of the car, running up the driveway.
"Goodbye, Caelum," Hyun said, as the phone went dead.
   6:59.
He ran back to the car, and grabbed the key to the house, fingers fumbling frantically.
   7:00.
Caelum ran up the stairs, to Hyun's room.
Not a thing was out of place. The wheelchair sat neatly by the bed.
Nothing amiss. Except the phone, which was knocked off the bedside table.
But he knew without a doubt--he was gone. There was a tiny packet—not unlike the ones sugar might come in, at a restaurant. It was torn open, and its contents gone. A cup was on the bedside table, filled a quarter of the way, with reddish-yellow liquid.
   And Hyun was dead.
