I Can't: Part 1
Jade huffed, sitting on a dumpster. She had honestly no idea what she was even doing, but decided to wait it out. Like she had been doing. For the past hour. Yes, the goth was bored. Yes, she had no idea what to do. And yes, she did see the mysterious figure carrying a bat and walking towards her. Wait... what?
Jade raised a black brow as the figure kept walking. Limping towards her. Was it limping? Wobbling? Jade didn't know anymore. But she did know that she probably shouldn't be there right about now. So, she got up, standing on the dumpster, and climbing up a strategically placed ladder hanging from the side of the building.
The man, who was obviously running now, followed, jumping onto the dumpster as Jade climbed, attempting to follow the frail girl. Jade climbed higher and higher, eventually going as far as the ladder would go. She climbed onto the top of the building, the man right behind her. How he was climbing faster than her, along with the bat, Jade had no idea. But she did know where he was, and slammed the 'lid' shut which was to the metal rungs that kept people from falling down the ladder.
The man fell. Fast. And landed on the dumpster, crashing through the lid. He was dead. Jade backed up, covering her mouth in shock. She just killed a man. She just. Killed. A. Man. Maybe he was just trying to play baseball on the roof of a building? Maybe he was trying to get a ball? All these thoughts ran through Jade's head, but she knew that he was trying to kill her. She looked down again. The man had on a weird shirt, shorts, and some greyish curly hair. There wasn't a lot of it, but it was there. He had a coconut tee shirt under his pool-side top.
A girl was behind Jade, her arms crossed. "Dang, hardcore," she said, blowing up some pink gum and popping it loudly.
Jade jumped, turning around quickly. She stumbled back, almost tripping over the rungs on the ladder. The girl caught her arm so she didn't fall. Jade got a good look at the girl now. Dirty clothes, face, and hair. It seemed like she had black smudges everywhere. She had platinum blonde hair, dark at the roots due to the dirt. Jade slowly got back onto the roof with the girls help. The blonde smirked. "I'm called Net. Nice to meet cha," she said, shaking the goths hand.
Jade nodded. "My name is...." she thought for a moment. This girl didn't seem to use her real name, so Jade made up a fake one. "Victoria. Most call me Tori, though," she said. Jade, or Tori now, had never heard of this name being used, so she used it. Simple as that. Or is it?
