Chapter Thirty-Six // {jordan's pov}
›
I strode back into my hospital room in the search for any weapons. I did have a bow and a knife that was in my boot before. I looked all around my room in search of my bow, probably the hardest weapon to use in my situation but I would take anything right now.
No sign of the bow.
I frantically glanced around the room for my boot and noticed them next to the bedside table. I sighed in relief and made my way over to them, certain that I would find the precious weapon. I checked the left boot, where it usually is and it was empty.
Empty.
I frowned and checked the other boot. Also, empty. I cursed furiously and threw the boot towards the wall. It bounced straight off and landed right back in front of me. I pulled off the converse Noah had given me and I placed them under the bed. I put my feet in my favourite boots. It was the only piece of clothing I had from before. They must've thought that if I still had my other clothes in here, I'd remember something. They weren't completely stupid. But still stupid enough to not of let Noah know of my 'memory loss.'
I decided to check Dawn's office for my knife or bow. Mainly my knife. I didn't want to lose that.
I quietly stepped towards the door and pried it open. The same cold air invited me into the hallway. I glanced now both ways to check if anyone was watching, luckily, it was empty, like my boots were.
I silently made my way down to Dawn's office -- which was about 3 hallways away. On the whole way there, I bumped into nobody at all, which was surprising. I opened up the door of her office and peered in. There was no one inside. Everyone must've been out. I sighed with relief and stepped into the room. I closed the door quietly behind me.
This was once a doctor's office...
My eyes immediately scanned the room for my bow but I came up empty handed. I checked around for my knife. I pulled open a few draws on her desk but there was nothing but junk and random unnecessary shit. I moved over to the shelf and as soon as I looked at the first shelf, I saw it. The light shined off of the blade, making a smile form on my features. My small hand wrapped around the handle.
It felt good to hold onto something that represented so much for me. I holstered the knife and left the office immediately, acting as if I had always just been wandering around the hospital.

"I can convince Dawn to allow us both out and search my old apartment for anything of use. She used to look up to me so, I might be able to use that to my advantage," I told Noah quietly as he sweeped the floor. It made me cringe, seeing him do such an activity that doesn't need to be done anymore.
He glanced up at me while still sweeping, "sounds good to me but, when are we going to do this?"
Before I could answer, Dawn shoved the door open, making me jump.
"We have guests. They're saying that .... we have a patient that they want to see, but we're strictly told to allow no one inside. Jordan, just be confident around these people and let me sort it out. If things go wrong, I need you there by my side," Dawn lied.
"Why are you sorting it all out? Wouldn't it be better if Lamson did it?" I acted clueless. She shook her head, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Uh.. The... head doctor told me the exact way to handle this situation," she explained with a short stutter. The need to roll my eyes was real.
"You should teach me afterwards, just in case," I smiled brightly at her. She fell for it. Big time. She returned the gesture before leaving the room. I waited until she was completely out of hearing range.
I whipped around to face Noah.
"After."

Dawn had explained how to deal with the situation. I was told to stand near the back, out of sight, which didn't make a difference to me. Dawn had obviously told all the people here that I didn't remember the apocalypse so when she explained what we were doing, it was said in a way that made you think that the apocalypse never happened and that we're just a bunch of cops.
Whoever was here, wasn't obviously going to be friendly. Everyone else had weapons but they didn't even think to give me one. Although, I had Rick's knife holstered, just in case. I had found it in Dawn's office earlier. Stupid woman stole the only thing I had left of him. No one saw it because it blended in well with my uniform trousers.
We marched forward as a group. I noticed that Lamson wasn't here, making me wonder about his whereabouts. I had only spoken to him once while I was here and he seemed normal enough, still avoided the 'walkers' topic though.
I couldn't see the people since I was so short. All I could see was black uniforms. I rolled my eyes in pure annoyance. There's no point in being here.
"Holster your weapons," Dawn commanded the people or for all I know, person.
Someone replied but I couldn't make out what. All of sudden, everyone from our side was holstering their weapons.
The person mumbled again saying something that made a few people sigh from our side.
"Where's Lamson?" Dawn questioned them. Did they have our people or something?"
"Rotters got 'im," Shepherd spoke loudly from further away, making me think that the other group did have our people, "we saw it go down."
"Oh," Dawn simply said before adding, "he was one of the good guys."
Someone mumbled something again.
"Now, where is she?" a voice that I could recognise from anywhere demanded loudly enough so that I could hear. Everything seemed to slow... Did they actually come for me? How did he find me? I came back to reality while tears threatened to spill down my cheeks.
I pushed past everyone and Dawn. I came to a stop in front of my family. My family...
His blue eyes stared at my small figure. A look of disbelief was written all over his face.
"Rick?" I stuttered, looking at him and the rest of the group with shock. A hand latched onto my wrist tightly, pulling me back.
"What the fuck! Let go of me!" I screeched, trying to free myself from the man's hold. It was an officer that I had seen around but never knew his name. The man groaned and tightened his grip making me whimper in pain.
"Maybe I should've harmed yours," Rick growled, referring to the two officers that stood behind him.
"She was apart of our team, she can't leave," Dawn explained, looking slightly restless.
"She is apart of our family," Rick retorted angrily. He was becoming impatient and so was I.
"We need her," Dawn argued, "we save people, you don't!" I noticed Daryl raise his eyebrows in confusion at the woman.
"We saved her and brought her back. To her home. Back to what she's best at. If anything, we're her family!" she ranted. I sighed, she's deciding everything for me.
"I don't want to be here, Dawn," I said calmly, making her look over to me. She looked desperate. She was at her weakest. The man behind me let go of me.
"This is your home though, why would you want to leave it?" she mumbled, looking towards the ground. I stepped forward towards the woman who once looked in control and strong.
I sighed, "you save people, Dawn," I commented, making her grey eyes look up at me in confusion.
"and now, I'm going to save you." It all happened so fast...
I unholstered my knife and shoved the blade into her chest.
...
The sound of a bullet being shot went off, milliseconds later.
....
Before I knew it, I was on the floor in a heap.
.....
Pain in my lower right side, above my hip. Unbearable pain...
......
Another gunshot went off. Another body fell to the floor.
.......
I looked lazily up at the figures surrounding me. My eyelids were becoming heavier and my vision was no longer crystal clear.
........
I felt far away, as if I wasn't really there.
.........
"I'm sorry," I whispered before my eyes finally closed.
