Part 1 - Chapter 5: Theme Park

Kim Dokja dumbfoundedly stared at the grand exquisite Gothic gate in front of him.

"...What are we doing here?"

Next to him, Yoo Joonghyuk still had the same aloof face as ever, but somehow Kim Dokja felt that he was conflicted, like a mix between happy and involuntary. He said:

"You said you're taking a vacation."

"Well, yes, but..."

"Don't think about working today."

How can you expect me to rest after dumping that much information on my head !?

Kim Dokja still harbored some negative feelings toward the word 'park', due to his latest mission in the BR-001. But it was already the last day of his precious vacation and he didn't want to waste it, now that they were already here.

While Kim Dokja was still considering, a rough hand grabbed his wrist and pulled him toward the gate. Yoo Joonghyuk's expression was as if he was dragging Kim Dokja toward the scaffold. A group passed them, mascot hats decorated with flowers sat on top of their head, like badly made witch hats.

An image of Yoo Joonghyuk wearing the same hat popped into his head, combined with his usual murderous look. A laugh almost surged from Kim Dokja's chest, but he managed to hide it with a small snort.

The park was a grand theme park with a fantasy setting. Greeting them right after the main gate was a large hologram wheel, with various roles written on it, ranging from bard to dragon. It wasn't hard to guess that they would have their role chosen randomly. However, his eyes were glued to the short ombre-haired girl standing a few steps from the wheel, next to her was a man dressed in black and green. On the table between them was some kind of map - obliviously the reason behind their fierce conversation.

Etti?

Kim Dokja remembered she was gone for a commission related to game building. He instinctively took a step back, for some reason, Yoo Joonghyuk also did the same, but the other two already noticed. Etti's eyes light up upon spotting them:

"Just when we needed it, my Chosen One!"

Kim Dokja's lips twitched:

"...I thought you said you were commissioned for a video game?"

"To be exact, it's a magic video game, based on the one I let you try before but better. You are lucky! We're testing our first beta, it was supposed to be just us, but now you're here, so..."

Before she could finish her sentence, he already gave his answer:

"I'm not joining!"

"...Even if it's Yo** Ta** newest work?"

Kim Dokja flinched.

Yo** Ta** was his favorite director and writer, who was famous for unconventional writing and tragic plot. But right now what he needed was a heartwarming story, not mental damage!

Sensing his reluctant, Etti decided to deal another blow:

"It's the sequel of N***!"

...Damn.

In the end, the reader's nature still won. He quietly asked her:

"Just to be sure, it won't end with all the characters' death, right?"

"...Ahaha, of course not!"

Did you just pause?

He glanced at Yoo Joonghyuk, his face was still grim - didn't seem to want to play into these two hands. The wariness in his gaze toward the man next to Etti was too vivid to go unnoticed. Kim Dokja didn't want to force him either. He didn't know about the man in black, but Etti definitely wouldn't let this be an uplifting trip.

Still, he wanted to know how the sequel will unfold, the first's open ending already pissed him off so badly...

Yoo Joonghyuk knew too well what was running in Kim Dokja's head at the moment. So he simply reached out his hand, and pressed the 'roll' button on the wheel, solving Kim Dokja's dilemma by himself. He raised his eyebrows at Yoo Joonghyuk, sending a look saying 'You sure?', to which Yoo Joonghyuk only returned with a 'Who cares' face.

The wheel started rolling fast for a few rounds, then slowly stopped on a pizza-shaped piece. A gold crown decorated with flowers was given to the dumbfounded Yoo Joonghyuk, while the word 'Princess' could be seen vividly on the wheel. Kim Dokja's imagination quickly ran on its own, painting the image of Yoo Joonghyuk wearing various types of flower accessories and pink gowns. He finally couldn't hold it anymore, laughing uncontrollably next to Yoo Joonghyuk.

For a second, Yoo Joonghyuk's face said he seriously thought coming here was a mistake and should just straight up murder everyone in sight. But seeing Kim Dokja wheezing so hard he had to lean on the handrail for support, his gaze conflicted a few times, then just put the crown on his arm.

In a coffee shop not so away, Harry looked at them through their special binoculars disguised as sunglasses, mouth agape:

"Wow, those soft eyes... Are they for real?"

Next to him, Cinnabar was covering her face, a bright red color flushed down to her neck. The girls in the MBCC had been successful in making her read a lot of romance novels, so even if she had no experience, she still could not help but embarrassedly glance through her fingers, while trying hard to maintain professionalism:

"I-is this okay? I mean, they are strangers, right?"

"Who knows? Chief had never said anything about his past, maybe they were e—... close friends?"

Garofano took a sip of her fruit tea, a large hat covering half of her face, made her look like a loving mother watching over her childs:

"It's Chief's personal life, he's free to choose who to go out with. Besides, if that guy is unreliable, you think someone as skeptical as him wouldn't notice?"

"That's true..."

They looked at each other, then glanced at a spot not so far away. A group of teenagers wearing sunglasses and brown coats was gathering there like a group of detective wannabes. Harry recognized them - except for the twin-tail girl, the rest were part-time employees from the 'Garden' restaurant. Their faces looked like they were tailing their father on a date. Lee Gilyoung covered his eyes, groaned painfully:

"My poor innocent eyes... Can we just stop now?"

Yoo Mia said quickly:

"Of course not! We need to make sure their date will not go wrong!"

Given that ugly ahjussi constitution, the chance of encountering unexpected problems is very high!

"Why are you even more excited than Jihye-noona?..."

"Mia, stop pressing my shoulder, I'll fall!"

...Unknown to them, that problem had already happened.

Kim Dokja's role was also decided quickly, as the word 'Android' stood proudly on the wheel. Etti gave him a white blindfold, which earned her a confused look from him:

"Why do we need this? Last time I just needed to touch your map."

"It's to register the player, for safety reasons. I'm a professional now!"

The fabric was thinner than it looked, the texture also felt very nice. Kim Dokja tied it on his head with Etti help, then touched the map as instructed, at the same time as Yoo Joonghyuk.

In the blink of an eye, the landscape around them changed. Yoo Joonghyuk looked around, spotting himself standing in the middle of a ruined castle hall. Most of the pillars and walls of the castle still stood, but were covered in mosses. From outside the large arched windows, ivy vines clung to the crumbling stones and crawled into the grand hall. Sounds of birds chirping and leaves fluttering could be heard vividly outside those windows. As a retired pro gamer, he could judge that this level of realism was enough to beat more than half of the games on the market.

His first action was to search for Kim Dokja, yet he was nowhere to be found. A vein popped on his forehead, Yoo Joonghyuk immediately considered just blowing his cover and destroying this damned place, when a male voice appeared. He recognized the owner of this voice immediately:

"Once upon a time, in a certain country, there was a ..."

"Return him, or I will destroy this 'game' of yours."

The last word was almost gritted out of his teeth.

"...violent princess. Anyway, your beloved android will come really soon, so please don't destroy anything."

The narrator cleared his throat, then continued his storytelling duties, while Yoo Joonghyuk checked his current situation:

"Her kingdom was destroyed by the alien armies. Fortunately, the aliens also have their enemies."

That was when he realized that his outfit had changed. The feeling was still his normal clothes, but in his eyes, they had changed into black Chinese dress with no sleeves. The front hem of the cheongsam was slit high up to his thighs, while the back hem was wider, almost like a dress. A cape draped on his shoulder, connected to the collar of the dress.

"They are android soldiers from a planet whom the aliens invaded before. The androids had vowed to destroy all the aliens and take revenge for their creator."

The bottom half was covered in black thigh-high stockings, held up by a garter belt. The only thing that could retain his dignity as a man was his combat boots. Forget the game, what the heck is this !?

"Upon learning this, the princess decided to meet the android and form an alliance."

Yoo Joonghyuk tried to remove the outfit, but to no avail, since he couldn't even touch it. Murderous intent flared from his eyes:

"I will fucking kill you, Loki----!"

Suddenly, a flash and an explosion sound resounded from outside. An ominous premonition arose in Yoo Joonghyuk's chest. Loki then leisurely finished the last sentence:

"However, since the alien's armies were also guarding the sky, the android's landing wasn't smooth at all."

Not caring about the outfit anymore, Yoo Joonghyuk jumped out the window and ran straight towards the aerial battle.
