Hide Your Heart

Everything was not fine. That morning Jimin had woken up, got ready, and headed to school with a clear mind and ready to learn! His dream of being a devoted-to-school teen ended the moment he walked through the front doors of the building. He wasn't sure if it was him or the fact that there were like a billion sweaty people in one hallway, but it sure was hot.

He walked down the hallway a bit, but as soon as he turned the nearest corner, he finally understood why he felt so hot. It was his Tony senses.

There Tony was, standing tall and next to his locker. The only thing different was he was talking to this small girl who looked like a freshman. Jimin stood there and watched, as his friend and a random girl had a casual conversation about whatever.

"Tony!" Jimin called out. His best friend turned his head to greet the voice.

"Hey Chim Chim!" He called back as Jimin ran up.

When Tony turned back to say goodbye to the girl he was talking to, she gave him a high five before giving him a hug.

Seeing this with his own eyes, Jimin felt an unsettling pang in his heart. It didn't feel good, nor did it feel right.

"What's up?" Tony voiced through Jimin's thoughts. He just viciously shook his head and smiled.

The bell rang, sending a hoard of rushing students to their next class.

Fuck, fuck, fuck! Was all that was going through Jimin's mind. His heart was beating like a mini drum, his breath was hitched, and his head was a mess. Be quiet! He thought.

He hit his chest trying to make the beating go away. He didn't want to think about why or how it was happening, all he wanted to do was curl into a ball.

The rest of the day he practically avoided Tony. At lunch he ran away into the bathroom whenever he saw Tony around the corner, he was silent all throughout their classes together, and he didn't even say goodbye to him when the day ended.

Jimin gladly climbed up the stairs to the same old bus he rode every day. He nodded to the bus driver and plopped into his seat next to the girl. For once the girl looked from the window when she noticed half his body was a drooping mess on the floor.

"Umm." Jimin's ears perked up when he hear her petite voice squeak next to him. He propped himself up and looked at her. Her eyes scanned his tired face and rosy cheeks.

   "Are you okay?"

Jimin's eyes widened in amazement. The girl in front of him just uttered a small sentence in his native language! With every possible reply lodged in his throat, he just nodded his head and smiled. What surprised him even more was the girl actually smiled back.

Once Jimin got home, he threw everything on the couch and went into the shower to cool off.
