Today I got to redo the mermaid whose character had the prompt Pastel. I think that the original prompt for this day was actually tattoo, but I didn't want to do tattoo, and was just like "I like pastel colors. Ima do pastel instead." And that's how we got this mermaid instead of a mermaid with some kinda tattoo. I know, amazing story.

This is the original from last year, which took me 45 minutes. I actually really like how her character design turned out because this is one of the mermaids that's character design was totally on the spot from my imagination.

Notes: Mitten hands, heyyy we got a bellybutton this time! No eyebrows, good hair, weirdly proportioned tail but I like the fin.

(Sorry if my notes on the designs make no sense. They're mostly for my own good so that I can go back and see what I improved on anyways ^-^)

This one took me an hour today. I made sure to keep the same overall character design, but did make her hair longer, because one, I love love LOVE drawing hair, especially long hair. And secondly, because I feel like longer hair goes with mermaids better. I mean yeah, it's definitely a cliche view of it, but I just can't really imagine a mermaid without long hair. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
