Today's prompt is Selkie. Some people may not know what a selkie is, so I'll explain a little bit.

A Selkie is always a girl, and is a creature that is a girl with a fur coat, and whenever she gets into the water she transforms into a seal. Selkie's cannot be away from the water for long, and if anyone steals their coat they then belong to that person. I had fun trying to mix the origins of a selkie in with the look of a mermaid, so this mermaid has a seal tail.

This version took me 40 minutes last year. I think that my main focus was the hair, and not much else, because as you can see, she has mitten hands and a very weird looking nose.

This one took me an hour today. My main focuses (other then you know, absolutely everything) were anatomy, lighting, and the mood the drawing has. Which may seem unimportant but in the long run matters a lot.
