It's hard to breathe.
You stumble out of Josuke's house, disoriented and heartbroken.
A few moments ago, you walked through this very door, excited to surprise your boyfriend. What you found, however, shocked you.
Two naked people roughing it up in bed, one figure clearly discernible as Josuke.
The horrible image is burned into your mind, a painful memory that you cannot shake.
He called after you, forgetting about the other woman he was screwing.
You ignored him as a food of tears washed over you.
How could he do this to you?
Why would he do this to you?
Are you not good enough for him?
Disturbing thoughts race through your mind, a mantra of pain and self-degrading taunts.
Running across town, blinded by tears, you finally reach your destination. Knocking on the door, you continue to cry, burdened with negative emotions.
|||||
Rohan has been busy all day, lovingly crafting his newest manga in his studio. He just finished for the night, brewed some calming tea and sat down to sip it idly.
A loud, frantic knock sounds.
Surprised, and a bit irritated, he grumbles as he stands. It's too late for fans or anyone else to be calling on him.
He opens the door, peering through the slit to see a distraught Y/n hugging herself as she sobs.
Stunned, he wastes no time in shoving the door wide open and leading her inside. He shuts the door behind her and takes her to the couch.
She slumps on it defeatedly and stutters and apology for dropping by so late.
"It's fine. Just, tell me what's wrong," he pleads, hating to see her like this.
Rohan admires Y/n greatly, he would even go as far as saying that he harbours romantic feelings towards her. Although, she is dating Josuke and Rohan respects her decision even if it breaks his heart.
So, seeing her like this - a shaking mess of tears - makes his heart clench painfully.
He attempts to soothe her by rubbing circles into her back. She shudders.

You shudder involuntarily as he rubs your back. His touch is comforting, but the contact reminds you of Josuke.
He retracts his hand and grabs you some tea, "Have some tea, it'll help."
You take it, grateful for his kindness, "T-thanks, Rohan-n."
He waits patiently, although you can tell he's dying from curiosity. Concern resides in his teal eyes as he looks you over, trying to determine if you're injured physically.
After a few minutes, you reclaim your voice, "Sorry about this. I didn't have anyone else to go to..."
"It's alright, Y/n, just tell me what happened, please."
You begin your story.
He listens intently, clinging to each word you utter. The tale begins pleasantly as you explain that you got off work early and wanted to surprise Josuke.
Rohan seems to understand where this is going, eyes clouding with anger as you give him the harrowing details.
"That bastard!" He growls when you finish.
You hiccup and begin to cry again, "What did I do wrong, Rohan?!"
"Nothing!" He practically yells, gripping your shoulders to make you face him. "You've done nothing wrong, this is not your fault. Josuke is the one to blame, so don't you dare even think of blaming yourself!"
You stare at him, unable to stop the horrible thoughts overpowering your senses, "But-"
"No!" He shakes you lightly, "Don't think for a second that you messed up somehow. Don't justify his heinous actions!"
You nod, realizing how right Rohan is. You did nothing wrong.
Wiping your tear stained eyes, you suddenly bring him into a hug, pressing against his lean chest, "Thank you, Rohan."
He stiffens before relaxing against you, "I'm so sorry this happened to you, Y/n. If you want, you can stay the night."
"Thanks. I don't want him to know where I am. I don't want to see him."
He pats your head, "I understand."
Your eyes start to close, so he brings you to the guest bedroom and helps you situate yourself.
"Goodnight, Y/n."
"Goodnight, Rohan."
"It's gonna be okay," he says before slowly shutting the door.

Three days have passed since that night.
You've been residing in Rohan's guest bedroom, repaying him by doing chores around the house. He insists that you don't have to do anything, but you'd feel guilty if you didn't help out.
Josuke has called many times.
You picked up once, listening to his swear it was only one time and that he'd never do it again. You listened with a cold heart as he begged you to come back to him.
And, with a cold heart, you hung up the phone.
Your heart still aches, and nothing you've done has helped relieve the pain. Until, you came up with a plan.
"Rohan, can I invite Koichi over?"
He looks up from his sketchbook, "Of course. May I ask why?"
"I have an idea, and Koichi needs to be here as a witness."
His expression is quizzical.
"I'll explain more when he gets here."
|||||
Koichi arrives thirty minutes after you called, his usually chipper face saddened.
"I heard what Josuke did," he says, "I'm sorry, Y/n."
You force a smile, "You don't have to apologize, Koichi. Anyways, thank you for coming."
Rohan greets them shorter male and you all sit down in the living area.
"My plan is simple. I want to forget about Josuke," you state with determination. "Not completely forget, mind you, but forget about ever dating him and... all about that night."
Rohan and Koichi look at you in shock.
"You can't be serious," Koichi says.
"I am. With your Stand, Rohan, you can make me forget all about it! Please, I can't bear it anymore," you beg, tears beginning to form in your eyes.
He gulps. He knows that if he does use his Stand, Josuke would find out and accuse him of manipulation.
"I know what you're thinking," you say quickly, "That Josuke will never believe it was my idea. That's why Koichi's here. Koichi's reliable and Josuke trusts him."
"Have you really thought this through, Y/n?" Koichi places his hand on your arm. "It's a big decision."
You nod, "I am one hundred percent certain that I want to erase my memories of dating Josuke. All I remember is heartbreak anyways. And I can't stop thinking about it."
Koichi stiffens, "Alright then. If it's what Y/n wants, then I will support you. Just, let me read her pages before you do anything so I know this isn't a trick."
Rohan looks deep into your eyes, "Are you sure?"
"Yes. And, Rohan?"
He waits for you to continue.
"Please write it so that I never date him again."
He nods and you smile softly at him, "Thank you, Rohan."
"Heaven's Door!"
|||||
Koichi looks through her memories, satisfied that she came up with the idea by herself.
"Alright."
Rohan thinks carefully before writing, 'I will forget about dating Josuke and about him cheating on me, and I will not date him again.'
"There," he steps back and allows Koichi to read it.
"It's exactly how she wanted it," he confirms.
|||||
With Josuke out of the way, Rohan finds it more difficult to contain his feelings for you.
Koichi explained what happened to Josuke, who flew into a rage upon hearing the news. He even confronted Rohan, who then proved that it was your idea in the first place by showing him your memories and Koichi's memories.
Defeated, Josuke has left you alone, much to the pleasure of the mangaka.
You've been spending most of your time with Rohan, even more than usual. It just seems so right when you're near him.
"Rohan," you say as you walk into his office.
He hums in acknowledgement, not turning from his work.
Grinning, you lean beside him, glancing at his progress, "Look at me."
He moves slightly, face angles towards yours.
Without hesitation, you kiss his soft lips, tasting peppermint from his lip chap.
"I love you," you say simply.
Stunned, he stares at you before breaking into a wide smile.
"I love you too."
