Chapter 17

*(y/n)'s POV*

We all went back to my apartment after the incident with Paul. My cheek was still stinging after he had slapped me, so I grabbed an ice pack and placed on the spot where he had gotten me. Kylo stayed by my side to make sure I was fine, which was nice of him to do that, even though it was just a temporary thing that will go away in a short time. He was really starting to express his affectionate side after I had forgiven him earlier, which was starting to bring out my feelings towards him again.

Unfortunately, the damage to Kylo and General Hux's spaceship that Paul had caused earlier was completely unfixable. The front windows were shattered, there were severe dents all over the doors that won't seal it up when traveling, and the oxygen system was destroyed and empty. Not even Rey or Poe could fix it. I felt bad that their only transportation was destroyed and there was no way they could get back to there Base unless maybe Rey and the others were willing to help out with getting them back to their Base without any complications.

It was around six in the evening as I was sitting on the couch with Kylo, Rey, and Finn, looking up my final grade on my laptop, while Poe and General Hux were sitting on the other couch with BB-8 next to Poe's leg. It was the moment that I've been waiting almost all day for that I've been anxious to see. "This is it. My final grade should be posted by now. I'm so nervous to see it." I said. "Do you know if you did good?" Finn asked. "I'm sure I did good, Finn, after all that studying that I've been doing for the whole Spring Term, even though it was a struggle for a couple of times. My final exam will determine my final grade for the class if I did good on it or not. It's my ticket to graduation." I explained.

"Do you want me to hold your hand to calm your nerves down, (y/n)?" Kylo asked, offering his hand to me. "Sure, Kylo. That might help actually." I answered, and, then, I took his hand into mine and held it. "I know you got this, (y/n)." Rey said, as she rubbed my shoulder to comfort me. "Thank you, Rey. Okay. Here goes nothing." I said, as I clicked on the link that goes straight to my class grade. I slightly squeezed Kylo's hand as I was waiting for it to load. I even felt Kylo squeezing my hand back and the others anxiously waiting to hear my results.

Then, my final grade popped up on the screen and the next thing I did was yell out, in excitement, "Oh, my God!" "What is it, (y/n)? What did you get?" Poe asked. "I got a B-Plus! I passed!" I exclaimed, happily. As I said that, everyone, except for General Hux, started cheering out loud. I set my laptop on the coffee table and I got up from the couch, along with Kylo, Rey, and Finn. Rey was the first to hug and congratulate me before Finn did the same thing. Then, Poe came over and hugged me as well and BB-8 chirped, merrily, to me. I was about to hug General Hux when he came over to me, but out of respect, I held my hand out to him and he took it and shook it. "Congratulations, (y/n)." He said, a bit stiffly. I smiled and said back, "Thank you, General Hux." Then, I released his hand.

When I approached Kylo, he embraced me in a hug, while I hugged him back, and I heard him say, "I'm so happy for you, (y/n). You earned it." "Thank you so much, Kylo." I responded, while we were still hugging each other. Moments later, we pulled away from the hug and I looked at the others.

"You know what? I think we should all go out and celebrate!" I suggested. "That's a great idea, (y/n)." Kylo agreed. "I could go out for some fun." Poe responded. "Same here." Finn said. "I'm game for anything." Rey said. But General Hux didn't respond. "What about you, General Hux? I think doing this might get your mind off the damaged spaceship and the other stressful things in your life." I said. He thought about it until he finally answered, "I guess so." "Great! I'll go get ready and we'll head out! I know the perfect place to go celebrate!" I said, and, then, I went to my bedroom to change into different.

I changed into my one-shoulder (f/c) sequined shirt with black pants and black boots and style my (h/c) hair to make it look nice; nothing too dramatic. I met up with everyone in the living room afterwards and they liked how I looked for the occasion, even if it's only a couple hours of celebrating. But with Kylo, I could tell that he was completely in 'awe' when he saw me. "You look wonderful, (y/n)." He said, quietly, as if he didn't want the others to hear him. I smiled and blushed at his comment. "Thank you, Kylo." I whispered back.

Then, we all headed out the door and we were on our way to my car until I heard, "Well, well, well.
Who do we have here? I see you got yourself some new friends there, (y/n)." We all turned and saw Ma standing outside, smoking a cigarette. "Yes, Ma, I have. Everyone, this is my landlady, Ma." I introduced them and they all gave her a small wave back, while she eyeballed them, curiously. "Fine group of friends you got there. I can tell you all are good people who make very good friends." Ma said, making all five of them chuckle nervously. "I guess you can say that, ma'am." Rey said, convincingly.

Then, Ma's eyes lit up when they landed on the stern looking General Hux. "My, my, aren't you a tall glass of water." She said, as she batted her eyelashes at him, trying to flirt shamelessly. General Hux was taken aback and visibly disgusted by Ma's advances, he quickly moved the very back of the group to hide from her. I covered my mouth and giggled at his reaction and I'm sure everyone else was doing the exact same thing.

"Well, we better get going, Ma. We're going out to celebrate. I received my final grade earlier." I told her. "Well, congratulations, honey. I knew you would pass that class. You go out and have fun with your friends, alright?" Ma said. "I will, Ma." I responded. "And you all better be good to (y/n) or else you'll be dealing with me and my shotgun." Ma warned them. "We will, ma'am. We promise." Finn stated, sounding a bit nervous. "We would never let anything happen to (y/n)." Poe added. "We're here for her and we'll protect her no matter what." Kylo said, looking at me. "Even me." He muttered, even though I could clearly hear him. I smiled and blushed as I looked at Kylo after he said that. "Or have her protect us." General Hux muttered. "There's no need for that, Ma. They're all wonderful people." I told her. "Well, good. That's what I like to hear. Now y'all get out of here and have a good time." Ma said.

Then, we all started walking to my car until I heard Ma say, "And (y/n)—" "Yes, Ma?" I asked, as I went back over to her. "That tall one with the dark shoulder length hair, he's one real hunk of beefcake. I think you should go out with him, honey. He could be your Prince Charming that you've been waiting for." She whispered. I covered my mouth once again when I started laughing after Ma said that. "Oh, Ma. We're just friends." I explained to her, even though I didn't want to tell her that I had already developed feelings for him. "You never know, (y/n). You don't ever see a man like that every day. Give him a chance." Ma told me. I had to admit, she was right. You don't ever see a man like Kylo every day. "Okay, Ma. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you." I responded, and, then, I met up with everyone at my car.

When I got to my car, nobody was outside. I opened my driver's door and climbed inside to sit down before I turned around and saw everyone already sitting inside, strapped in. I was surprised to see them sitting in different spots than where they were the last time when they all were sitting with their respective groups. General Hux and Poe were sitting in the very back, while Kylo, Rey, and Finn sat in the middle seats.

"We thought we could sit in different seats this time." Rey said. "Well, not everyone wanted to sit in a different seat." Poe said, pointing to the front seat, where BB-8 was sitting. I giggled and said, "Of course BB-8 gets the front seat again." Then, I turned to everyone else. "I'm so proud of you all for working things out with each other instead of fighting. That's a working progress." "Well, we wanted you to know that we've kept our promise for you, (y/n)." Kylo mentioned. "And I really appreciate it. And General Hux?" I called out. "What?" He asked. "I think you might be Ma's type." I joked, making him groan in disgust and the others laugh. "Now let's get going. We got some celebrating to do!" I said, as I started the car and drove off to our destination.
