Chapter 16
*(y/n)'s POV*
I cried for a couple of minutes until I heard BB-8 beeping next to me. I removed my hands from my face and looked at the little droid, who was by himself. "BB-8." I said, sniffling a bit, while I wiped the tears off my cheeks. He beeped something again and, then, I let out a sigh. "I still don't know what you're saying, BB-8. But if it's about what happened a few minutes ago, I just—I just don't know how I feel about Kylo now." I said.
All of a sudden, I heard the sound of glass breaking nearby. It wasn't coming from the Millennium Falcon. It sounded like it was coming from somewhere that was outside of the forest, a little close to where my apartment building was. I stood up from the ground when I heard glass breaking again. "Come on, BB-8." I said, and, then, I started running towards the direction of where that sound was coming from, with BB-8 rolling from behind me.
Once I got closer, I was shocked to see Paul, hitting the side of a small spaceship that belonged to Kylo and General Hux with a metal baseball bat. "Paul!" I yelled, getting his attention. He, then, stopped hitting it on one spot that caused something to vaporize out of it and he turned to my direction, with the bat still in his hand. "Hey there, (y/n)." He said, trying to sound innocent. "Don't play dumb with me. What are you doing here?" I asked, demandingly. "Well, coincidentally, I was gonna come by and see if you changed your mind, but you weren't home. But, then, I came across this contraption that looked like something that I could use for scrap metal. Yet, I looked at it closely and it looks like some sort of spaceship." Paul explained.
"You're insane, Paul. First of all, it's probably not what you think it is. And second, whether it is or not, you can't just come here and damage something that isn't even yours. Why do you even have that bat with you anyway? Unless you had plans to use it for BB-8." I said, crossing my arms. BB-8 beeped frighteningly and hid behind my legs. "I would never hurt a robot, let alone that one there." Paul said, adding a hint of fake in his voice. "He's not a robot!" I corrected him. "Whatever it is. Why are you getting so worked up about what I'm doing? Unless you know something about it." He said, eyeballing me, suspiciously. "That's none of your concern, Paul. Now get out of here." I told him.
But he didn't leave. Instead, he was walking, slowly, towards me, with a grin on his face and putting the bat over his shoulder. "No. I think I'll just stick around until I figure out what you know about that spaceship because I'm pretty sure it belongs to someone who's looking for that robot of yours. Which is why I'd make sure that I broke the windows on it so they won't get away." Paul said, trying to sound tough and sinister. "Stop it, Paul." I warned him. He laughed a bit and responded, "Yeah. You're not so tough now without your baseball bat, (y/n), so you can't scare me away that easily." I took small steps back, with BB-8 rolling away from me, as he kept getting closer towards me.
"You're crazy, Paul. Get away from me." I said. "I could do that, (y/n). In fact, I could stop all this nonsense and forget about that spaceship and leave all my suspicions behind. However, there is one condition in doing so." Paul said. I knew what was coming, so I asked, sarcastically, "And what would that be, Paul?" "Go out with me." He answered. "Like I would really change my answer just like that. Now leave me alone, Paul." I told him, and, then, I turned around and was about to leave. But Paul, aggressively, grabbed my arm and turned me back around so that I was facing him. "Ow!" I exclaimed. "Come on, (y/n)! Why can't you—"
Then, suddenly, I heard a zap sound and Paul yelled out in pain and fell on the ground. I looked down and saw BB-8 next to Paul, with a tiny electric device sticking out that caused Paul to get shocked. "Way to go, BB-8!" I said, happily, with BB-8 beeping back as if he was laughing for shocking Paul, which honestly he deserved it. Paul, however, stood up, looking at BB-8, angrily, while holding his bat up in the air preparing to swing at the little droid. "Why you little piece of—" But before he could take a swing, I tackled him down to the ground. I tried to hold him down as much as I could as I looked at BB-8, who was beeping, frantically. "Go, BB-8! Go!" I yelled, and, then, the little droid rolled away as fast as he could and went into the forest.
I struggled to keep Paul down on the ground so he wouldn't chase after BB-8 or something. I even grabbed his bat and threw it further away. "Stop it, (y/n)!" Paul said, while grunting. "No!" I said back, as I continued to wrestle him down. "All right, that's it!" He said, and, then, he rolled me over, where he was now hovering over me and had me pinned down on the ground. "Get off of me, Paul!" I yelled. "I will unless you say 'yes' to go out with me." Paul responded. Then, I did something that I've always wanted to do from all the multiple times he's been harassing me. I took the courage to spit on Paul's face. But that didn't do any good. Instead, Paul wiped the saliva off his face and slapped me across the face, unexpectedly, causing me to cry out in pain.
Suddenly, Paul was thrown off of me and had rolled across the ground a few feet away from me. I sat up, with my cheek stinging in the pain from the slap, and looked to the side to see Kylo, with an angry expression on his face and his hand out towards Paul's direction, with Rey, Finn, Poe, General Hux, and BB-8 standing behind him. When Paul saw the group, he whimpered as he got up from the ground and tried to make a run for it. But he didn't get far as he, in mid-run, came to a sudden complete stop like a statue. "Wh-what's happening? I can't move!" Paul panicked. I glanced to the side and saw Rey with her hand out towards Paul's direction like what Kylo did. It made me realize that they had used the Force on him.
Then, Kylo stomped over towards Paul and took out his Lightsaber and activated it. "Kylo, don't!" I hollered. But he kept going towards Paul, with that Lightsaber of his pointing towards the well-deserved frightened wimp. He, then, stood in front of Paul. "P-Please. Please don't hurt me. I-I promise I won't bother (y/n) again." Paul begged at the intimidating Kylo standing in front of him, without changing his expression. He moved the tip of his Lightsaber close to Paul's neck, causing him to whimper even more. "If you ever harass or touch (y/n) again, I'll stick this through your neck before you could beg for mercy. Got it?" Kylo threatened him, gritting his teeth. "Y-Y-Yes, s-sir." Paul answered, and, then, a dark spot appeared below his pants and it ran down his pant legs.
Finn and Poe laughed when they saw it, while General Hux looked away, disgusted. "Looks like he relieved himself." Finn said, making the two laugh even more, making Paul whine in embarrassment. Rey and I covered our mouths to hide our laughter. Kylo still kept his eyes on him while he lowered his Lightsaber down and said, "You will not speak a word about any of this to anyone. Got it?" Paul nodded, frantically. "Good. Now get out of here." Kylo said, giving Rey the signal to release him. She did and he fell on the ground after he was released and he ran away as fast as he could until he was no longer in sight.
Afterwards, everyone turned their attention on me. Rey helped me stand up, while Kylo joined up with us and stood in front of me. "Are you okay, (y/n)?" Kylo asked, sounding concerned. "I'm fine." I answered, even though I was partially lying since my cheek was still sore. I could tell Kylo noticed the slap mark on my face and, then, he reached out and touched it, gently, but I still winced out in pain. "He really did slap me hard." I added, as I continued wincing in pain, even though his gentle touch on my cheek was helping me forget the pain.
"That scumbag. I can't believe that he would do that to you, (y/n)." Poe said. "We should've killed him when we had the chance." Finn suggested. "No, Finn. It was best to traumatize Paul for good. He deserved it." I told him. "What was he doing here in the first place?" General Hux questioned. "At first, to harass me once again. But, then, he started damaging you and Kylo's ship over there." I responded, while pointing at the damaged spaceship, making everyone look. Glancing the redhead general, he was in the state of shock and panic, while Kylo, on the other hand, wasn't the least bit concerned. "No! Now we can't get back to our Base!" General Hux exclaimed. "Well, let's take a look at the damage." Poe said, offering to help out. "I'll help too." Rey stepped in. Then, Poe and Rey, along with General Hux and Finn, went over to check on the damage of the spaceship, while Kylo stayed behind with me.
Kylo continued to look into my (e/c) eyes, with his hand still resting on my cheek and a saddened expression on his face. "I'm sorry, (y/n). I'm so sorry that you had to find out about me of who I really am. I can understand that you're still upset with me and...I'm sure that you see me now as a monster." He said, with sorrow in his voice and he looked down, ashamed. Even though I had to admit that I was still heartbroken from what had happened earlier, I couldn't help but feel sympathy for him. It still wasn't right for him to kill his father and other innocent beings. But the more I looked into his dark brown eyes, I began to realize that he was just a lost soul who's fighting between the two sides that continued to conflict with him.
"You're not a monster, Kylo." I finally said. He looked up at me again, surprised by my response. "Even though from what I've learned about you earlier was wrong for you to do that, I completely understand about what you're going through. But killing your father was something I definitely wasn't expecting to hear about. I guess this is coming from a different perspective of me. For me, I want nothing to do with my own father since he's been absent for most of my life and I don't know what it was like between you and your father, I feel like a person shouldn't go out of their way to kill their own father. But after what happened just now with Paul and the more I look into your eyes, I'm willing to forgive you." I told him.
Kylo's eyes started to soften after I told him everything. "Really? You're willing to forgive me, even after everything I told you about earlier?" He asked. "Of course, Kylo. If you were what you had claimed to be a 'monster', you probably wouldn't have stopped Paul from hurting me and not take your word to set your rivalry aside with Rey and the others. You're not doing this just for my sake for you and the others staying with me, but it's because the Light Side of you is showing how much you really care deep down. Plus, I am a forgiving person." I responded, with a smile.
Then, a smile formed on Kylo's lips and all the sadness in his eyes had gone away. "And I'm glad that you are. Thank you, (y/n)." He said. "You're welcome, Kylo." I said back, and, then, without hesitating, I embraced him in hug. He was little tense at first, but he relaxed and wrapped his arms around me and hugged me back. Being in his arms felt amazing after I had forgiven him. It made me feel safe to be close to him. "Thank you for saving me from Paul, Kylo." I said. "You're welcome, (y/n)." Kylo responded, as we continued to embrace each other.
