Chapter 15

*(y/n)'s POV*

When we got to the forest area near my apartment building, Poe told us to wait while he went over to deactivate the cloaking device, with BB-8 following him. I don't know how he did it with it being invisible, but he somehow found a lever to pull it down and a boarding ramp appeared as it was being lowered down. "Whoa." I said, quietly. "Now wait right there while I deactivate the cloaking device." Poe instructed, as he and BB-8 went inside the ship. Moments later, the exterior of the Millennium Falcon appeared.

"Wow! That's one cool piece of junk ship you got there!" I said, while I continued observing it. "Why does everyone always call it a 'piece of junk'?" I heard Finn question. "It looks to be that way, (y/n), but it's very special." Rey said. "That's right. It's the fastest ship in the galaxy and it's equipped with a backup hyperdrive." Poe added, as he was exiting out of the ship. "Come on in and take a look, (y/n)." He said, gesturing me to climb aboard the boarding ramp, with everyone else following behind me.

Once I got inside, I started looking all over the interior of the Millennium Falcon, completely in amazement that I was inside an actual spaceship, while Poe and Rey walking next to me, with Finn, Kylo, and General Hux walking in the back. I chuckled to myself before I said, "This is incredible. I never thought in my life that I would be walking through an actual spaceship." "Do you have spaceships or any spacecraft of some sort on Earth?" Rey asked, curiously. "Of course we do. NASA has all sorts of those. But it's nothing compared to what you all have from your world." I answered.

"What's NASA, (y/n)?" Finn questioned. "NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Believe me, I was being quizzed to remember of what it stands for months ago in my Earth Science class. Anyway, it's basically an agency that is run by the government that uses science and technology to explore the unknown in air and space, like planets and stars for example." I explained. "Sounds interesting." Poe commented. "It is. That's why I like painting galaxies. The universe is just so fascinating to observe." I said.

We all entered a room where it looked like a lounge area that had a seating area and chessboard-like table. "This is the Main Hold." Rey said, as she stood in the middle of the room, with BB-8 rolling next to her. "Where we can kick back and relax and maybe play some Dejarik." Poe added, while he stood next to Rey and looked at her, making her chuckle a bit. "What's Dejarik?" I asked. "I'll show you, (y/n). Over here is where we play." Finn said, as he directed me over to the chessboard-like table, with Rey and Poe joining as well. General Hux and Kylo just stood back and observed.

Finn sat down and turned on a switch on the side of the table, where it popped up different types of holographic creatures on the table. "Does this game relate to actual chess?" I said, while I watched the holographic creatures. "Kind of. It's different from that because each player gets four creatures and you basically have to try to take out your opponent." Poe explained, and, then, he and Finn were demonstrating it when they started playing the game. "Hm. It looks like fun. But I highly doubt that I would be good at playing this game." I said. "Don't worry, (y/n). I refuse to play the game myself." Rey stated. "Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one." I responded.

Then, I heard footsteps from behind me. I glanced over and saw Kylo walking past me and he headed towards a different hallway. "Kylo?" I spoke. But he didn't respond as he kept on walking. It's strange that he hasn't said a word the whole time since we've been inside the Millennium Falcon. It's almost as if something was bothering him from being in here. I followed him to see where he was going.

When I got to the end of the hallway, it lead me to the cockpit, where I saw Kylo sitting in the passenger seat. "Kylo?" I spoke again, and, then, he finally snapped back into reality when he turned his head and looked up at me. "Yes, (y/n)?" He responded. "Are you okay? You didn't say anything earlier, like something was bothering you." I told him. "Oh. I'm sorry. It's just—I'm very familiar with this ship and I just deep in thought with some of the memories." Kylo explained. "Oh. I had no idea that you were familiar with this ship. I guess that would explain how you found the cockpit. I thought this ship belongs to Rey and the others." I said, as I took a seat in the driver's side.

"No. This ship belonged to Han Solo, who's...a well known smuggler in the whole galaxy. He was...very close to me, I guess you can say, and I remember as a child that he would take me out on rides in the Millennium Falcon." Kylo explained, even though I noticed that he was hesitant the whole time he was talking. "Huh. He sounds like a very interesting individual. Kind of feels like he could be a father figure to you, Kylo." I said. Then, I noticed that Kylo was very tense for a moment after what I said 'father figure' before he responded back, "Perhaps you could put it that way, (y/n)."

"Well, even if this Han Solo was a smuggler, he sure as heck got a cool spaceship to travel with." I said, as I was looking out the window of the cockpit, with my hands on the steering wheel. I began to imagine myself flying through space. Then, I heard Kylo chuckling next to me before I turned to him. "What?" "Nothing. It's just...you're so cute when you're pretending to fly this ship, (y/n)." Kylo answered. I giggled and blushed in embarrassment and said back, "Hey, there's nothing wrong with a little imagination." Then, we both laughed together.

Moments later, Rey showed up. "Oh, hey. I see you found the cockpit." She said. "Yeah. Just seeing what it would be like to fly the Millennium Falcon." I told her. She chuckled and responded back, "Well, we can't let you since you probably don't know how to fly." "Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I'll just keep on dreaming instead." I said, with a giggle at the end, and, then, I got up from the driver's seat and left the cockpit, with Rey and Kylo following behind me.

"You should give it a try, General Hux." I heard Finn speaking from the other room. "I don't play games. Let alone play that confusing game you two are playing." General Hux said back. "You don't have fun that much, do you?" Poe questioned. But I didn't hear General Hux respond to the question right as soon as I, along with Rey and Kylo, entered the Main Hold. BB-8 beeped something to Poe, with him nodding in agreement afterwards. "You're right, buddy." Poe said. "Right about what?" I asked, curiously. "That General Hux is boring." He answered, making the redhead general offended. "You expect to take word from a droid?" General Hux spoke. "Well, he does have a point." I answered, snickering at the end. General Hux scoffed and crossed his arms afterwards.

"Anyway, how are you liking it so far, (y/n)?" Poe asked. "I love it, Poe. I gotta say, it is one special ship. In fact, if I ever had the chance, I would definitely like to be acquainted with the owner, Han Solo, for having a cool ship like this." I said. But as soon as mentioned 'Han Solo', everyone looked at me, shocked. "How did you hear about 'Han Solo', (y/n)?" Finn asked. "Kylo mentioned about him to me when we were in the cockpit not too long ago. Why?" I said. No one didn't say a word for a few seconds. I noticed Rey and Finn looking at each other, with sad expressions on their faces. I even glanced at Kylo, whose expression was even more darkened than the others'.

Then, they both looked back at me and Rey was the one to say something. "Um, (y/n), Han Solo is dead." She told me. I was shocked by the sudden news. "Oh. I'm so sorry to hear about that. What happened to him if you don't mind me asking?" I asked. Rey and Finn were hesitant to answer, but, then, Kylo stepped in and said, "Rey, Finn, it's fine. I'll tell her." I looked at Kylo once he said that. I noticed that he took a moment to think about something until he took a deep breath and exhaled before he looked at me and held my hand. "Um, (y/n), the reason why Han Solo is dead is because...I killed him." He confessed, with his voice laced with guilt.

I felt like the air had been sucked out of the room once I heard those last three words from Kylo. I couldn't believe what I had just learned. "What?" I whispered, nearly breathlessly, as I stepped back from Kylo and released my hand from his. "I'm sorry, (y/n)." Kylo said, regretfully. "Why did you do it?" I asked. "I did it because...of my inner conflict between the Light and the Dark Side. I was being torn apart and I thought killing him would make me free from the pain and prove to my former master, Snoke, that I was strong to the Dark Side. But I soon realized that it made me suffer even more after killing Han Solo, my own father." Kylo explained.

I couldn't what I just heard. He never mentioned to me that Han Solo was his father. "What? He was your father? But your name is Kylo Ren." I said. "That's who I am right now. But my real name i—was Ben Solo. I didn't want those who fear me to know my true lineage. I had killed those who were against me too." Kylo made another confession, which made me look at him even more in disbelief and shock. I was struggling to process the revelations that I was not prepared to know. I was completely speechless to find out the truth about the real Kylo Ren.

Without saying a word, I looked at Rey, Finn, and Poe wanting to know if everything that Kylo said was true. Sure enough, as if they had read my mind, they slowly, nodded in response. Then, I turned to General Hux to see if he would respond as well and he did by lowering his head down. I turned back and looked at Kylo one last time. I could see the sadness and guilt in his eyes, but I still couldn't wrap my head around from learning about his past. "I feel sick to my stomach." I choked on my words, and, then, I ran out of the Main Hold, down the hallway, and exited out the Millennium Falcon.

I ran further away until I rested against a tree. The tears had already escaped my eyes as I slid down and sat on the ground, with my hands covering my face as I cried. Thoughts kept racing through my mind. How could I have been so blind? The fact that I admittedly had been infatuated with a murderer. He didn't even have the audacity to tell me the truth about his real identity and who his father was and what he did to him. I didn't know how to feel about him now.

*Kylo's POV*

As soon as (y/n) ran out of the Main Hold, I was literally on the verge of running after her, but Rey and the other two intervened. "Let her be alone, Kylo." Rey said. As soon as she said that, I nodded and leaned back against a wall, thinking about what just happened. I couldn't believe that I told (y/n) about my past actions. Without me looking, I heard footsteps walking towards and stopping next to me. "Ren, don't beat yourself up. She had every right to know." I heard General Hux say.

I didn't want to admit, but General Hux was right. (y/n) had every right to know who I really was and my past. Now I was really feeling the pull of Light Side within me after telling her. But now I was beginning to sense her disdain towards me after seeing the way she reacted. I kept wondering if she, the one who had been enamored with for a short time, was starting to see me as nothing more than a monster.
