Chapter 14
*(y/n)'s POV*
The next morning, I woke up and met up with everyone in the kitchen to start a new day of enemies putting their rivalry aside. It was a better day than it was the day before; everyone wasn't being fake or glaring at each other with hatred. They were just being themselves while socializing. It really made me happy to see them all getting along for once since they've been here. And I have to admit, they all looked great in the clothes that I brought from the donation box and no one won't even suspect that they're from someplace different since they looked like they could be part of Earth.
After we finished cleaning the dishes and the table, I was sitting on the couch, looking on my laptop for any updates on my final grade in Earth Science. There was no sign of my grade. Even though I know I've done good in the class, it still gets me stressed to know what my final grade was going to be since I didn't know how well I did on my final exam.
"What are you up to, (y/n)?" I heard Kylo ask me while he was sitting next to me. "Oh, I'm just looking to see if my final grade has been posted. I know my professor said that he would post it later this evening, but you never if he does it early. It's not there and I'm getting so stressed over it." I responded, as I closed my laptop. "Don't be stressed about it, (y/n). I'm sure it'll come soon." Finn said. "Do you want to do something to get the stress off of you?" Poe asked. "Sure. I can do that. What do you all want to do?" I asked. "Whatever you want to do." Rey responded. Then, BB-8 started beeping and he rolled towards the door. I looked at him and turned to the window where the sun was shining through. "I think I know what you're talking about, BB-8. Let's go outside and do something." I suggested.
"Sounds good." Finn said. "I actually do need some fresh air, so I'm fine with going outside." General Hux mentioned. "Plus, I need to practice my Lightsaber skills." Rey said. "Cool. I'll bring some stuff outside in case." I said, while I stood up from the couch. "I can give you a hand if you like me to, (y/n)." Kylo offered. "Aw. That's very kind of you, Kylo. Thank you." I said, and, then, you headed over to the closet to get the bag with the soccer ball and the volleyball inside.

We all went outside where it was sunny and stopped in the same field where BB-8 and I played the other day. Kylo helped me carry the bag with the sports balls inside and I handed them to BB-8 so he could play with them since he enjoyed them so much the last time. Poe and Finn decided to go play with BB-8, General Hux was relaxing in the sun while sitting on an outdoor chair that I brought down for him, while I stayed with Rey and Kylo as I was curious to see what she meant by her 'Lightsaber skills'.
Rey took out some sort metal-looking stick, pressed a button on the side of it, and it activated into a blue-colored glowing laser-like sword. It looked just like the one she was using when I encountered her and the others the night I met them. "Whoa! This is what you call a 'Lightsaber'?" I asked. "Yes, it is, (y/n)." Rey answered. "Wow. That is incredible." I said, as I was moving my hand towards the glowing blue blade. "I wouldn't touch that unless you want to lose a finger." Kylo warned me and I quickly retrieved my hand back. "Oh, God. I don't want that to happen. I didn't realize it was that...dangerous." I said, with Kylo chuckling at my reaction.
Rey, then, she started swinging the Lightsaber with marital art style moves from a safe distance to practice. She was really good with her swinging skills. It seemed as if she was a warrior of some sort. "Hey, (y/n)." I heard Kylo say next to me. I looked at him and said, "Yes, Kylo?" "You wanna see some real action if I did a Lightsaber duel with Rey?" Kylo asked. "You're not gonna actually fight with her, are you, Kylo?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "No. Just for...fun. Just to show you how we use our Lightsabers to battle against our enemies." Kylo explained. "Well, if Rey is okay with it, then sure. I would love to see some action." I responded.
Afterwards, Kylo took out his Lightsaber and activated into a red-glowing colored cross-like sword, which was buzzing. "Hey, Rey! How about we demonstrate what our Lightsabers can do when battling against each other for (y/n)?" He asked. Rey hesitated at first until she looked at me and I gave her an approval nod, letting her know that I was fine with it. "All right, Kylo. But don't get any ideas." She said, while warning him at the end. "I have no intention of harming you, Rey. I just want to demonstrate this for (y/n)." Kylo said, as he looked at me, with me smiling back at him. Rey looked at me before she looked back at Kylo, with a smirk. "I won't harm you either. Let's do this." Rey said, giving him a nod to start.
Then, Kylo swung his Lightsaber towards Rey and she quickly blocked him with hers. She moved her Lightsaber away and she swung it at Kylo before he blocked it. While they were dueling, Finn, Poe, and BB-8 quickly came over and stood next to me. "Hey! What's going on here?" Finn questioned. "I thought we had an agreement of not fighting each other." Poe mentioned, with BB-8 beeping, frantically, afterwards.
"It's okay, you guys. They're just demonstrating on how to fight with a Lightsaber." I explained. "Do you two always have to worry about everything?" General Hux asked, standing next to me. Finn and Poe looked at each other to come up with an answer until Finn answered, "Uh, yeah. Of course we have to because we need to look out for each other." "Especially Rey." Poe added, and he quickly covered his mouth and turned away as if he was embarrassed. I smirked at him and shook my head before turning back to the duel.
Rey and Kylo dueled each other for a couple minutes. They were playing it safe the whole time without any intentions of harming one another. At the same time, I noticed Kylo was stealing glances at me the whole time he was dueling with Rey like he was making sure I was watching him, which I was, obviously. Honestly, I thought it was very cute because I kept picturing him that he was my knight in shining armor fighting for me.
After a while, Rey and Kylo were finishing up their duel when they locked their Lightsabers together. They both were putting in all their strength to see who would fall while the one standing wins. I could tell that Kylo was on the verge of losing as he was panting, heavily, and was losing strength in his arms. He looked at me as if he was saying 'sorry' for losing the duel with Rey. When my eyes went to Rey, she did nothing but concentrate on Kylo, even when he was looking at me. Then, unexpectedly, she released her grip of her Lightsaber and fell on the ground, with Kylo almost losing his balance.
"Rey!" Finn and Poe exclaimed in unison, as they, along with BB-8, went over to check on Rey. They helped her stand up before she said, convincingly, "Excellent duel, Kylo. You may have your victory moment." Then, she deactivated her Lightsaber and held her hand out towards towards him. Kylo looked at her confused until I noticed that she winked at him. He, then, took her hand and shook it before she walked away, with Finn and Poe following her, while I went over to Kylo.
*Rey's POV*
"Rey, what happened? You've never lost to a duel, let alone with Kylo!" Finn asked. "You were about to win, Rey! You looked as if you had given up intentionally!" Poe said. BB-8 beeped in response as well. All I did was smirk at Finn and Poe's reactions before responded back, "That's exactly what I did, Poe. I lost on purpose so that Kylo could win for a reason." Finn and Poe glanced at each other, obviously puzzled, and they both turned back to me.
"What do you mean by that, Rey?" Poe questioned. Without saying a word, I looked in the direction, with Finn and Poe following along, to show my reasoning. "I wanted to give Kylo the opportunity to impress (y/n)." I answered, while I saw (y/n) and Kylo talking. I glanced at Finn and Poe and they both seemed confused at first until they realized what I was talking about. "Rey, are you saying—" Finn was about to ask, but I interrupted him. "Yes, Finn." I responded, with a nod, and, then, I looked at Kylo and (y/n) again, BB-8 chirped as if he was saying 'ooh'.
*(y/n)'s POV*
"I gotta say, Kylo, I was very impressed with your Lightsaber skills." I complimented Kylo. "Thank you, (y/n). It takes a lot of practice to handle a Lightsaber and defend yourself from your opponent." Kylo said. Then, he slightly winced in pain out of nowhere. "You okay there, Kylo?" I asked. "I think I might've sprained my wrist, (y/n)." Kylo answered. "Let me take a look." I said, and, then, he held out his wrist and I checked it. "Hm. I don't see any swelling." I told him. "I mean, it doesn't hurt that much, even though I put up a good duel with Rey since she's...a tough one." Kylo tried to explain. I could tell that he was making up his so-called 'sprained wrist' reasoning.
But I didn't want him to know that, so I pretended to go along with it. "Here." I simply said, and, then, I leaned down and gave him a kiss on top of his wrist. "All better." I said. I was starting to see a shade of pink appear on his cheeks afterwards. "Thank you, (y/n). It feels much better now." Kylo responded. I giggled and said, "Even a tough guy like you, Kylo, you definitely have a soft spot." "He doesn't show it that often." General Hux mentioned on the side. Kylo glanced at him after he said that, with an annoyed expression on his face. "Well, there's a reason why I don't, especially when I'm around you, General Hux." Kylo said. General Hux huffed and crossed his arms afterwards. "Probably for the best anyway." He muttered.
I cleared my throat so that I could change the subject. "So, how do you get a Lightsaber? Can you get a Lightsaber just like that or is there some sort of purpose to have one?" I asked. "There's a purpose to get a Lightsaber. You see, (y/n), Lightsabers are a weapon that they're meant for those who are not only Force-Sensitive, like Rey and me, but they're mainly meant for those who are a Jedi and a Sith. You make them with a hilt and a special Kyber Crystal." Kylo explained. "Interesting. Do you get to choose a color?" "Yes." Kylo said.
"What's a Jedi and a Sith since you mentioned those two?" "Jedi are special beings who possess the Force and are specially trained to guard peace and justice, whereas the Sith...is the complete opposite." Kylo explained, even though I could tell that he was looking uncomfortable talking about the last part.
He cleared his throat and changed the subject. "Anyway, would you like to give the Lightsaber a try?" Kylo asked. "Sure." I said. Kylo was about to give me his Lightsaber, but, then, Rey stepped in. "Wait, Kylo! Why don't we let (y/n) use this Lightsaber instead since yours is a bit heavy?" She asked. "Good point, Rey. Go ahead." Kylo answered, and, then, Rey handed me her Lightsaber.
I looked for the button and activated it before I stepped away from everyone so that I wouldn't accidentally hurt them with it. Then, I started swinging the Lightsaber, just like Rey was doing earlier and doing a lot of combative moves that I remembered seeing in movies. It was pretty cool to try out the Lightsaber, even everyone else was very impressed that I was handling it very well. I felt like a warrior preparing for battle.
After a while, I stopped and deactivated the Lightsaber, while panting a little bit. "Well, for an Earth girl who has never held a Lightsaber or hasn't trained, I gotta say that I'm very impressed with your skills, (y/n)." Kylo complimented. "Thank you, Kylo." I said, as I handed the Lightsaber back to Rey. "Nice work, (y/n). I could see you as a Jedi, even if you aren't Force-Sensitive." Rey said. "Thank you, Rey." I responded. I finally stopped panting before I let out a laugh and said, "I gotta say, doing that really felt like I blew off steam from all that stress that I had earlier." "Now just don't end up like Kylo having a tantrum." General Hux muttered, even though I could obviously hear him and I'm sure Kylo did too. "What was that, General Hux?" Kylo questioned. 'I knew it.' I said to myself, mentally. "Nothing." General Hux answered.
"You know what? I think it's time that we show (y/n) the Millennium Falcon. Is that okay, (y/n)? " Poe suggested. "Absolutely, yes! I've been curious to see it!" I answered. Then, we looked at Kylo and General Hux. "You two can join us if you like." Rey offered. "I suppose I must. It would be quite interesting to finally get a preview of the infamous Millennium Falcon." General Hux responded. When I glanced at Kylo, he seemed hesitant. "Kylo? Are you okay?" I questioned. He seemed as if he snapped back into reality when he looked at me and said, "Uh, yeah. I'm okay, (y/n)." I furrowed my eyebrows while I looked at him. He seemed as if he had something on his mind that he was ashamed of. "Did you want to come with us?" I asked. "Um, sure. I'll come with you." He answered, still acting hesitant. With that being said, we all followed Poe to where the Millennium Falcon was located.
