Chapter 12

*(y/n)'s POV*

After I purchased everyone's supplies and my groceries, we put all the groceries in the back of my car and I helped BB-8 get into the front passenger seat, while everyone was arguing about not wanting to sit in the same seats again and they all resumed back to arguing with each other. As usual, I made them stop fighting and told them to sit in their same seats and they did what I told them to do. Once we got back to my apartment, both groups helped me with my groceries and put them away for me, even though they were still glaring daggers at each other.

Deep down, I really wished that they could try to get along whenever they're around me without doing it just in public like earlier. I understood why they did it earlier; to not embarrass me and expose themselves of who they really were and where they're from in front of people. But just because they're with me and not in public, doesn't mean that they should be arguing and fighting, especially since I'm doing a lot for them. Honestly, I didn't know how much longer I could take with me trying to stop them from fighting.

It was around four o'clock as I was in the kitchen making spaghetti for dinner. I asked anyone who would like to assist me and Kylo, Rey, and Finn volunteered to help. Poe was setting up the table with BB-8 assisting him, while General Hux was lounging on one of the sofas skimming through a book he found on my bookshelf earlier. I was cooking the meatballs before I put them in the marinara sauce while Rey and Finn were chopping up the vegetables to put in the salad and Kylo was stirring the spaghetti noodles in the pot.

"Dinner should be ready soon." I announced, while I was checking on the meatballs since they were close to being cooked all the way. "Good. It smells good, (y/n)." Poe commented. "Thank you, Poe. And you two did a great job on the salad." "Thank you, (y/n)." Rey responded. "With good friends and teamwork effort, we can do anything, even making a salad." Finn said. I glanced over and noticed General Hux rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. "I would be even more happy to get dinner over and done with so that we could be out of here already." He muttered, even though I could clearly hear him say something. "What did you say, General Hux?" I asked, sternly. He looked at me and simply answered, "Nothing. Just talking to myself." 'That's what I thought.' I thought to myself.

"How am I doing on the noodles, (y/n)?" Kylo asked. I walked over, took the spaghetti spoon, and lifted some of the noodles up out of hot water to check on it. "You're going an excellent job, Kylo. They're done." I answered. "Okay, then. What do I do next?" He asked. "You'll take the noodles and dump them into the strainer in the sink so it'll drain out the water." I instructed.

Kylo, then, grabbed the handle of pot and made his way towards the sink, where he almost dumped the all noodles in the strainer at a fast pace. "Wait, Kylo! You might want to do it slowly because you'll end up getting hot water splashed on you and you'll get hurt!" I said, as I placed my hand on his hands. He looked down at me when he felt my hands on his before he started pour out the noodles into the strainer, slowly, without taking his eyes off of me. "Thank you, (y/n)." Kylo spoke, softly. "You're welcome, Kylo." I responded, while I stared into his dark brown eyes for a moment.

Then, I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the timer go off from my phone. "Oh. I should probably get the garlic bread out of the oven." I said, and, then, I turned it off the timer and went over to the oven to take the garlic bread out. After I took it out and put it on a platter, I grabbed a large bowl and set it right next to Kylo. "I think the water should be drained, so you can put the noodles into that bowl, Kylo." I told him and, then, he carefully dumped them into the bowl. "Perfect! You did wonderful, Kylo!" I said. "Thank you, (y/n). You made my first time cooking really easy." Kylo said, and I felt my cheeks getting warm. "You're welcome, Kylo. I'm glad I made it easy for you." I responded.

"It was easy for us too." Rey mentioned. "All you both did was chop up vegetables." Kylo pointed out. "At least we could that instead of chopping things up for no reason with your lightsaber." Finn said back, with Rey nodding in agreement. Kylo was about walk towards Rey and Finn, but I quickly put my arm up and he stopped in his tracks. "Why don't we bring the food over to the table, okay?" I suggested.

Then, Rey took the salad bowl to the table, while Finn brought over all five of the dressings; blue cheese, thousand island, Caesar, ranch, and Italian. After that, Kylo brought over the bowl of spaghetti noodles, while I carried the garlic bread to the table. "Dinner's ready." I announced to Poe and General Hux and they both came to the dining room.
They all sat in the same seats as they did earlier in the morning and both groups did nothing but glare at each other with hatred in their eyes. I was the last one to sit down at the end of the table with BB-8 next to my chair and, then, I told them all, "Alright. Now that we're all seated, let's eat."

Both groups were hesitant to take first dibs on the food as if they didn't want to accidentally touch their enemy's hand while getting food. But, then, Rey finally decided to be the first to fill her plate with food, while she kept watch on Kylo and General Hux. Afterwards, she gave Finn an expression that it was his turn and, then, he filled his plate with food while doing the same thing Rey did towards the First Order duo. Once Finn was done, he gestured Poe to get his food, which he did. After the trio got food on their plates, Kylo and General Hux took turns getting their food onto their plates, while they were eyeballing Rey, Finn, and Poe at the same time. "Um, enjoy." I spoke, awkwardly, as it was my turn to get food.

Less than five minutes had gone by and there was nothing but silence other than the sound of the utensils tapping against the plates the whole time at the dinner table. Both groups did nothing but glare daggers at each other while they were trying to eat their food. The silence and the continuous staring was rather uneasy that I couldn't help but watch them while I was tapping my food with my fork.

I decided to break the silence. "This is a rather interesting dinner. There's nothing like eating spaghetti while you hear nothing but the utensils tapping against the plates and nobody saying a word." I said. Finn turned to me and commented, "The food is delicious, (y/n). Nothing I've ever eaten but I'm very grateful to try it." Finn said, obviously pretending to be happy. "I agree with Finn. This is probably one of the best meals I've ever had." Poe stepped in, pretending to be happy as well.

"I could enjoy this meal more if I wasn't eating with Resistance Scums." General Hux commented. "I totally agree with you, General Hux." Kylo said. Once they said that, things got tense and I had a bad feeling that it wasn't going to be good. Even BB-8 beeped as if he was saying 'uh oh'.

"Well, sorry if we have to eat with you at the table as we're doing it out of respect for our friend (y/n), you First Order losers!" Rey sneered. "Oh, wow. For a scavenger from Jakku, I'm very impressed with your comebacks, Rey. I wonder if Luke had taught you that during your Jedi training." Kylo said, sarcastically. "Oh, shut your mouth, Ren and you too, General Hugs!" Poe said, sticking up for Rey. "I have told you before not to call me that!" General Hux said. "And you can't tell us what to do! We're trying to enjoy our food that (y/n) had provided us and you two just have to ruin it!" Finn said. 'I can't take this anymore.' I thought to myself, as I put my hand on my forehead, getting frustrated and annoyed.

"Not as much as you three have ruined it!" Kylo said back. "Since the beginning when we followed you three here." General Hux added. Poe groaned and said, "If you and the First Order hadn't attacked us in the first place, we wouldn't be in this situation and you two could've saved yourselves from wasting your time trying to come after us!" It kind of hurt me when he said that because I would never have met them or BB-8. "I won't call it a waste of time now that we'll be able to follow you to your new Resistance Base once you three leave Earth." Kylo pointed out. "Try all you like, Ren, because we've got the Millennium Falcon and Rey. She's got the Force and she'll use it to stop you two." Finn said.

Kylo laughed, mockingly, before he said, "You two are wasting your time relying on Rey. She may have the Force, but she isn't capable of saving you two." "You don't know what you're talking about, Kylo." Rey said, sounding angry. "Oh, I know exactly what I'm talking about. Face it, you're a nothing, Rey, and you'll always will be. No wonder your parents sold you off for drinking money." Kylo stated.

Once he said that last part, I could tell that triggered Rey because she ended up throwing her cup of water and splashed it on Kylo's face. Everyone, including me, gasped in shock after she did that. "Yeah, well guess what, Kylo? I don't think killing Snoke made you more powerful. You're still the same as you were; a stubborn grown man who acts like a child." She said back, causing Kylo growl and he splashed his cup of water on her face. I gasped after he did that and I even noticed that General Hux had a shocked expression on his face when he heard something he didn't expect to hear from Rey.

I was about to say something, but, then, Finn stood up from his chair and said, "Alright. Let's all settle down and put a stop to this." "Oh, look. The First Order traitor is trying to stop a fight." General Hux insulted him. With that being said, Finn grabbed the jar of thousand island dressing and threw it at the general's face. General Hux exclaimed in disgust and whipped the dressing off his eyes and looked down before he whined, "My uniform!" He growled and stood up from his chair and was about to fight back, but, then, Poe stood up from his chair to try to stop the situation. "Guys, come on. Don't do this." He said. "Why don't you go and fly something you've never flown before and crash it, Resistance's so-called 'Best Pilot'?" Kylo asked him, mockingly.

With that, Poe grabbed two hand fulls of spaghetti noodles and threw them at Kylo and General Hux. "Guys, don't do it!" I tried to say something to avoid them from making things worse. But that certainly didn't work because no one was listening to me. Kylo and General Hux released their anger by grabbing any random food on the table and yelling in unison, "We've had enough of you three!" Then, they threw food at the trio, making them exclaim and grab random food throw it back their enemies. "Same here with you two!" Rey, Finn, and Poe yelled back at the same time, while both groups continued throwing food at each other.

Food was getting everywhere. Not just on their clothes and faces, but also all over the dining room. But they didn't pay any attention to what they were doing as they continued throwing food. Eventually, General Hux grabbed a jar of blue cheese dressing, tapped on Kylo's shoulder, and threw it at his face. "What was that for, General Hux?" He asked, demandingly. "For killing Snoke and dealing with your tantrums for so long!" General Hux answered, rudely. Then, Kylo grabbed some food that was on his plate and put it on the general's hair. "And that's for being a pain in the ass to me!" Kylo said back, and he and the general continued throwing food at the Resistance trio, even if they occasionally threw food at each other.

I couldn't believe what happening as I stood up from my chair and backed away. They were having a food fight right in front of me in my own home. I couldn't believe they would do this after everything I had done for them and using myself as a shield to keep them from fighting each other, but I guess it wasn't enough. BB-8 was beeping frantically right next to me as if he was saying that the food fight was getting ridiculous and it should be stopped. "I know, BB-8! They need to stop! They're making a mess!" I told him.

I stepped forward and put my hands up to get them to stop fighting. "You guys! Cut it out! This is getting way out of control!" I said out loud, but they didn't cooperate with me. Instead, I ended up getting a meatball thrown at me from someone. That was definitely the final straw.

Fueled with anger myself, I slammed my fists, loudly, on the table and yelled out, "That's it!" When I did that, everyone stopped what they were doing and looked straight at me. "You three, sit down!" I demanded and pointed to the trio, which they did what I told them to do. "And you two, I don't care if you both are high ranked superiors, I order you both to sit down!" I did same thing to the First Order duo, and they, slowly, sat down in their seats.

"Look at you guys! Seriously! I cannot believe you five are acting like this! I have done so much for you guys ever since you've arrived here. I've allowed you five to stay in my apartment and not get kicked out, sleep, eat, buy supplies, and more importantly, I've been doing my best to keep you enemies from killing each other. I've done everything that I can for you guys and this is how you repay me? I've been through a lot of difficult times in my life, especially the fact that my own father has never been there for me for all these years and he's not even coming to my college graduation. I don't have any friends because I've been too busy with my school work. But when you five came along, I've started seeing all of you as my friends. But now...I feel like you all should leave." I said, and, then, I walked away, with BB-8 behind me, and went to my bedroom and slammed the door shut.

*Third Person's POV*

After (y/n) had left, everyone at the table, covered in food from the food fight, were completely speechless. They looked down, ashamed of their actions and what they did to (y/n). They knew she was right and she did everything for them, even to stop them from fighting, and all they did was hurt her. They were deep in thought for a while until both groups looked at each other, without glaring at one another.
