Chapter 10
*(y/n)'s POV*
"Do you guys really have to leave immediately to get back to your base?" I asked, while I finished writing down my grocery list. "Unfortunately, we must. Our duty is to the Resistance." Rey responded. "And I have a lot responsibilities to do as Supreme Leader of the First Order." Kylo answered, with General Hux rolling his sea-foam green-colored eyes in annoyance and jealousy. "Although it's gonna be difficult to leave with those two following us." Poe pointed out, making Kylo and General Hux tense. "Uh, oh." BB-8 beeped. "I know, BB-8." I muttered. "It will be quite interesting to try to catch up with you three when you leave. We'll soon be able to locate your new Resistance Base." General Hux said, with a smirk at the end. "Yeah, good luck with that after we blast that small ship of yours in the middle of the galaxy." Finn sassed back.
But before anyone could utter a word to start an argument, I crossed my arms and cleared my throat out loud, making everyone face me. "Aren't you all forgetting about something?" I questioned. They all hesitated, but they stopped and tried to calm themselves down, even though I could tell they were very tense judging by their postures.
"Thank you. Anyway, why don't you all stay here until after dinner? I would hate for you all to leave on an empty stomach and since neither one of you haven't seen much of the town of North Passed, I can give you a brief tour of it. You know, see something that's different from your world. Afterwards, we'll go to the market, get groceries for myself and for dinner tonight and whatever needed supplies you all need for your trip back to your...respected base. Plus, I want to spend extra time with my guests, especially from a different part of the galaxy. Does that sound okay to any of you?" I suggested.
Each individual from both groups were deep in thought. Rey, Poe, and Finn stepped away and huddled together, whispering to each other, while Kylo and General Hux were doing the same thing. I could barely hear what they were saying; Rey quietly asking if Poe and Finn agreed to it and General Hux kept shaking his head every time Kylo asked him a question as if he was desperate to get the redhead to agree with him. After a minute of whispering in deliberation, both of the groups looked at me. "We'll stay." They all said, in unison, even though I could clearly tell that they didn't like the idea of staying longer as I saw both enemies glaring at each other. But I smiled in appreciation and said back, "Good."

It was around eleven o'clock and we all headed out the door and walked outside to my car. Every single person was rather curious and confused about my car. "What? None of you have ever seen a car before?" I questioned. They all shook their heads. "It's a rather unusual vehicle compared to what we use for transportation, (y/n)." Rey said. "Can it fly?" Finn asked. I laughed for a second before I answered, "No. It doesn't fly. I mean, I wish it could. That would be cool. But a car is one the main transportations that we use here on Earth." "Do you pilot this—uh, car, (y/n)?" Poe asked. "Uh, yes, in other words, I do drive this car." I responded. "The best part is that this car, also known as the 2014 Expedition, comes with a total of seven seats; enough for all of you to fit in." I added, while I was opening the front passenger door and the back passenger door and folded the back seat so that there was access to get to the very back seats. After that, I nodded my head towards the opened doors, gesturing for everyone to get inside.
"Lady's first, Rey." Poe said, politely, while he moved out the way and motioned to the front seat. I thought it was very cute that he was being a gentleman to her and I could see the blush forming on Rey's cheeks when she smiled at him. "Hey! What makes you think that Rey gets to go in first and why the front seat? I should be the first one because I'm the Supreme Leader." Kylo began to argue. "You ain't the Supreme Leader to us." Finn bossed back, while crossing his arms. "And what makes you think that you're in charge over all of us?" Rey stepped in. "Because the First Order will always reign above all of you, rebel scums." General Hux sassed. I slapped my forehead as they began to argue once again. BB-8, who was next to me, started beeping as if he wanted it to stop. "I know, BB-8. I'll handle it." I told him.
"You guys, stop!" I said out loud, making everyone stop arguing and they looked right at me. "First of all, keep your voices down. We're in the middle of a parking lot and I don't want anyone looking at us with you all acting like children. It's embarrassing." I began to say. "We're acting like children?" Poe questioned. But I didn't answer him as I continued saying, "Secondly, since you all are arguing over who gets to get in first, I'll make the decision of who sits where and no one is gonna argue about it. Capeesh?" I told them. They looked at me, confused. Probably because they didn't understand the word 'capeesh'. "Meaning, do you all understand?" I said. They hesitated once again and responded back, in a dull tone, "We understand."
"Good. Now let's settle this. BB-8, you sit up front with me." I said, making BB-8 chirp in excitement. "That droid gets to sit up front?" Kylo complained. I cleared my throat and looked at him, sternly, and, then, he crossed his arms and grumbled to himself. I had to admit, he did look sexy when he was angry. "You three will sit in the three middle row seats, while you two will sit in the back." I finished saying. They all groaned in frustration afterwards. "Now come on, you guys. You're acting as if one of your enemies is sitting directly next to you." I told them.
"It's hard enough that I have to deal with being around those three, but to get in the very back where I should be sitting up front like a leader." General Hux sneered, making Rey, Finn, and Poe roll their eyes in annoyance from hearing General Hux's high rank status over and over. I even I was getting annoyed by him. Kylo cleared his throat and said, "May I remind you who the real leader is and has a higher rank than your status, General Hux?" The general wanted to say something back, but, then, he ended up having a defeated look on his face. "Whatever you say, Supreme Leader." He muttered.
"Alright, then. Since everything is settled and there's no arguing, let's get going." I announced, and, then, I gestured everyone to go inside. Kylo went inside first to his seat in the very back while General Hux followed him to his assigned seat. It was easier anyway because they were sitting in the very back. After I put the seat upright to its position, Rey was the first to sit in her seat in the middle row while Poe sat next to her and Finn sat on the last seat. Then, I picked up BB-8 and put him in the front passenger seat and buckled him in. Afterwards, I walked around the car and got inside the driver seat.
"Everyone buckled in?" I asked. At first, both groups were confused on what I meant by that until they saw their respective seatbelt and buckled in. "Yes." They responded, in unison. Then, I put my key in the ignition, started the engine, pulled out of my parking spot, and drove down the road towards my college campus at recommended slow speed limit.
"Wow. This thing is so much different compared to what we use. I'm curious to know how you drive this thing, (y/n)." Poe said. I chuckled for a second from Poe's curiosity, but, then, I began to explain, "It's pretty simple, Poe. All I have to do is steer the wheel right in front of me and use my feet to apply the brakes and the gas on the pedals. Of course it's very important not to go too fast like a maniac or else I'll be in real big trouble with the police. Always follow the signs whether for the speed limit or looking for directions." "What does it run on?" Finn asked. "It runs on gas. Some people use different alternative fuels for their vehicles, but my Expedition only runs on gas." I answered.
"Also, what do those letters by that stick mean?" Rey asked, peeking over to the side. "The letters are what controls the car. P means park, D means drive like what I'm doing right now, N means neutral which makes the car roll freely without me controlling it, and R means reverse which makes the car go backwards." I explained. "From someone who can fly anything, I'm surprised that you would ask what something is that you don't know about." Kylo said, causing Rey to turn, sharply, towards him, with a fist. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw Kylo holding his hand up like he was holding an invisible cup. "Excuse me, you two!" I called out. They both looked at me and they gave one last glare at each other before they sat properly in their seats with their arms crossed.
"Do you guys just fly spacecrafts?" I asked. "Yes, we do, (y/n)." Kylo answered. "Well, sometimes we drive other vehicles, but we mostly fly." Finn added. "What do you fly? I mean, I might not know what they are since they don't exist on Earth." "I fly a TIE Silencer." Kylo answered first. "Interesting, Kylo." I said. "I fly an X-Wing." Poe responded. "Sounds like a nice—whatever it is." I said. "I can fly almost anything, but I mostly pilot the Millennium Falcon." Rey said. "Millennium Falcon? Oh, yeah. I remember that name on the escape pod that BB-8 was in. I was wondering what it was; it sounds cool. I'd like to see it sometime before you guys leave." I said.
As I was driving through my college campus, I noticed everyone was observing my school from my rear view mirror. "You guys have already seen my college campus, right?" I asked. "We have when we were looking for BB-8." Rey answered. "And when we were searching for you three." General Hux added. I was concentrating on the road, but I could sense that Rey, Finn, and Poe were giving Kylo and General Hux side glares. "North Pass University is the name of my college. It's a wonderful school and everyone—well, I wouldn't say everyone, but a lot people are very nice and the best part is that it's close to town." I said, as I began to accelerate the speed since I was off the college premises.
"What exactly is there to do in your town, (y/n)?" Kylo asked. "There's a lot to do here in North Pass, which is great since there's mostly nothing to do in an average small town. There's a lot of shopping in thrift stores and other small businesses, grocery stores, cafes, a community center, a library, fun events especially during the holidays, restaurants, including a brand new fancy restaurant that I've heard of, and a small airport just a couple of miles away from here." I said. "Your town sounds amazing, (y/n)." Finn commented. "Thank you, Finn." I said back. "Yeah. It's a nice place that we've seen on Earth so far. Too bad we have to leave later on." Poe said.
Once that last part was mentioned, I immediately felt sad. "Yeah. That's right." I spoke, sounding gloomy. I did nothing but concentrate on the road and ignored my surroundings in the car. I had to admit that I was upset that they were leaving right after dinner this evening. Since I got to know a little bit about them earlier, I was beginning to see them all as my new friends than just guests, even if they're two groups of enemies wanting to fight each other. I feel like once they leave, everything will go back to the way things were before they showed up; not having any friends and not having my father attend my graduation.
For a moment, I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at my rear view mirror and I noticed that Kylo was staring at me from my reflection, with a soft expression on his face. It was almost as if he could read my thoughts of what I was thinking. I looked away from the rear view mirror and focused on the road, with my cheeks feeling hot.
I had to admit that I was attracted to Kylo since the moment I met him and talked with him earlier. He's intimidating towards the others, but whenever he was around me, he seemed like a different person. In a kind, caring way, especially coming from a handsome man like him. But I had to face the reality that he was going back to his world along with the others, which made me feel even more sad to think about it.
