Son Shine

Weeks have gone by and Unser has no leads to suspect Bayley was behind the drug muling. She decided to stay in Charming for a while longer so she doesn't look suspicious. Bayley had found herself regretting her form of retaliation against Juice and AJ. It seemed like a good idea at first but once it happened, she didn't feel any better. All she created was even more sadness. Bayley wanted the ones that did her wrong to suffer. The question she found herself asking everyday and night was, was it worth it? Was getting revenge worth getting ATF caught into this web, along with Unser who is trying to get down to the truth. Not only that, but what will SAMCRO do if they found out that Bayley didn't immediately say something when she found out that the key of coke belonged to the cartel and that Juice had it.

If she would have just let bygones be bygones and didn't take matters into her own hands, then this wouldn't be happening. Regret and sadness was all that she was feeling. What Bayley did wasn't worth the consequences that leached onto her actions.

AJ was feeling a different kind of sadness. Not guilt like Bayley, but loneliness. Being alone was the one thing she feared the most. Not alone like having no one to turn to, because she simply didn't care about anybody else. The only person she wanted was Juice. AJ could be surrounded by friends and family, but it would mean nothing. If Juice wasn't with her then she didn't want any type of company.

The visits for both of them were hard. Bayley went in every so often to see how he was doing. It was only for about 5 minutes she would speak to Juice. She hoped that seeing Juice in prison would give her some sort of comfort if he were to have been saying things like, "I don't deserve to be here."... "I'm changed." ... or even "I'm not a bad person." That way she would know that him being in prison was well deserved. But instead he would apologize and ask how she and Rei have been. Saying that this was karma's way of teaching him a lesson. Instead of getting killed, he was going to rot slowly, missing his girlfriend and child, not ever being able to actually be with them.

AJ, on the other hand, would visit every single day. Twice even when she was allowed to. But as days and weeks passed, she found it harder and harder to look at him. Juice would come out to the visiting area in cuffs with brand new cuts and bruises on his face. Each worse than the last. One time AJ broke down crying when Juice came through the doors limping and had trouble sitting down. She knew what happened in prison, being an ex-member of a hated gang had it's major cons in county.

"AJ." Juice spoke softly, "You don't have to cry for me. We both knew that this was going to happen sooner or later."

She sniffled hard, "I miss you so much."

"You see me every day." He smiled,

the cuts on his bottom lip made it hard to do so. Even though something as simple as a smile hurt to do, he knew it always made AJ feel better to see him happy. And let's face it. Juice was great at faking his happiness.

AJ wiped her tears, trying to force a smile herself.

"You know what I mean."

Juice wanted to hold her hands in his but couldn't because you weren't allowed to make physical contact during the visits. Seeing AJ across the table wasn't enough to satisfy him. He needed to feel her warm touch. That was the only way Juice would be able to remain sane. But being able to touch her was impossible. And AJ did not want to risk being stripped of visitation rights.

"I'm sorry." Juice looked down, "I never meant for any of this to hurt you in the end."

"It's okay."

"No. It's not okay. I was an idiot, a coward, and a liar. That's why I'm here. You just need to go back home."

"What are you saying?" She asked, trying to wrap her head around the concept.

"I don't want to be the cause of your suffering."

AJ looked down and back up. This time with tears streaming down her face. "You are not going to stop me from coming to visit you."

"I know it's hard for you to see me like this."

She shook her head, "No. I can pull through like how I used to do. Remember?" she asked, referring to when they were younger. "Please don't do this."

"AJ... I don't want you to see me like this." She laid her head on top of her crossed arms that were on the cold titanium table. Her muffled sobs made Juice want to cry too. "Please stop crying." he asked, choking up.

AJ tried pulling herself together the best she could. Leaning in, she whispered. "I can break you out. I know people. We could pull this off. And then once you're out, we'll leave this place forever." Juice admired how AJ would carry worlds for him if that's what he wanted. But he would never let her carry that much weight on her shoulders.

"No." he shook his head. His answer shocked the crying woman. "I'm staying here. It's what's best. I deserve it."

"Don't say that."

"I'm sick of running, AJ." he paused, "No matter where we disappear to... I'll always whined up in either county or dead." Juice shrugged, "That's my fate." he looked down, tears streaming down his sad face.

"I'm all done. It's too late to save me."

Juice stood up slowly. His muscles ached so badly because of the beatings he took almost every day and night. AJ gazed up at him with watery, red eyes. "Don't leave me again... You promised me that you'd never leave me again!" she screamed, catching the attention of the guards. One of them grabbed her by the arm, saying that she needed to leave. AJ tried pulling away, "Let me go!" Juice stood there and watched the woman he loved, still trying to fight to be with him. He didn't understand why she loved him so much. Juice felt like everything he did made her life worse. Yet, she still stuck around. AJ finally tore away from the guard. "Juan, I love you! Please! I love you!"

The pain in his heart was so intense that it just went numb. Juice grabbed her before the guard could and gave AJ one final embrace. "I love you, too. Take care of the baby for me, okay?" he whispered before a second guard would pull them both away from each other. Juice exhaled shakily, contemplating at AJ who started kicking and screaming as they dragged her out of the room.

"Let's get you back to your cell, Ortiz." the muscular guard tugged him by the arm. Juice turned slowly to go back to the cell blocks. He squeezed his eyes shut, holding back the rest of the tears that were threatening to fall. Soon, he couldn't hear AJ's voice anymore. That voice that he would never hear again...
