(A/N: I'm excited to announce that I'm going to be an auntie of five now.)

It was a dark, starless night in the town of Dartford as you were almost done packing your stuff into your suitcase before your husband, James Trever, came back home from the pub. After two years of dealing with his abusive, controlling, intoxicated behavior, you made the decision to leave him for good and go somewhere far away where he can't find you. Once you had everything packed, you went to the closet, took out a shoe box from a well hidden spot, and collected all of your savings and put them into your purse. You grabbed your suitcase and walked out of the bedroom and headed for the staircase. You walked down the stairs, grabbed your coat off the coat hanger, and, then, you quickly walked out the door.

Afterwards, you came upon a coachman and asked him, "Excuse me, sir, would you take me to the docks, please?" You, then, reached into your purse and took out some money you're offering to him to get you there quicker. The coachman saw the offer in your hand and nodded, indicating that he was accepting your request. "I can certainly do that for you, madam." He said. You handed him the money and you got inside the carriage. Once you sat down, the coachman picked up the reins and the horses started moving the carriage forward towards the direction where the docks were located.

As you were getting further from your house, you, suddenly, heard a slurry voice shout, out of nowhere, "(y/n)! Come back here!" You turned around and saw James, in a drunken state, chasing after the carriage, while losing his sense of balance. You knew he wasn't gonna catch up to the carriage with the condition he was in, but you were still worried that he would end getting you and taking you away. You turned back and ignored James' shouts. The coachman even turned his head back to see what the commotion was, but you told him, desperately, "Go faster. Please, sir." Then, the coachman turned back to the horses and the carriage started going faster, getting even more further away from James, who fell down on the ground, still shouting out your name. You let out a sigh of relief as you couldn't hear his voice any longer.

Sooner or later, you finally made it to the docks, where you saw men loading up a ship that looked as if it getting ready to depart. Once the coachman pulled on the reins to stop the horses and the carriage came to a complete halt, you grabbed your suitcase and the coachman helped you out of the carriage. "Thank you kindly, sir." You thanked him. "Much obliged, madam. Safe travels." He said, which you nodded back at him, and, then, he went back to his seat, took the reins, and the horses started moving the carriage away.

Afterwards, you headed to the ship as quick as you could see two men getting ready to remove the gangplank from the ship. When you got to them, you asked, "Excuse me. Where is this ship sailing off to?" "To London, Miss." One of them answered. You instantly thought it would be the perfect location to get further away where James wouldn't be able to find you. "Any chance I could climb aboard? I could pay for it." You asked, as you were about to reach into your purse to offer a payment. But the man that had answered for you waved his hand as a way of saying 'no'. You stopped what you were doing and looked at him.

"No need to do that, miss. You're more than welcome to climb aboard the ship without charge." He said, and he gestured you to walk up the gangplank to the ship. "Oh. I kindly appreciate it. Thank you." You said, without hesitation, and, then, you walked up the gangplank and boarded onto the ship, where you took a seat on a barrel on the side of the ship. A couple minutes later, the ship started sailing. An older sailor walked up to you and said, "Excuse me, miss. It's awfully cold out, there's some available beds below deck." You shook your head, while not looking at him, and said back, "I'm fine where I am. I need some fresh air and get things cleared from my mind." The sailor, then, walked away from you, leaving you alone where you were at.

You pulled your coat closer around you to keep yourself warm as you stared at everything all around in Dartford the ship was sailing past. At the same time, thoughts kept flooding your mind. Living with James for so long was like prison to you and you couldn't be happier to be free from him. But at the same time, even though you've escaped from your husband and you were about to live in a new different place, you still weren't familiar with the areas of London and you didn't know where you were going to stay. Hopefully, you'll be able to find a job and a decent place for you to live in and meet some new people along the way once you get to London.

Over an hour later, the ship had finally reached London. After it was docked, you got off the ship and started walking around the streets of London. It was close to morning, but it was still dark out and it looked like there were not a lot of places open. You were tired and slightly frightened about someone sneaking up to you from around the corner. But you kept your confidence up and try to stay tough, hoping you'll eventually find someplace hiring and an open place to live in.

By the time the sky turned light, you came around the corner and saw a meat pie bakery called 'Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Shop'. The thought of a meat pie was making your stomach as you haven't eaten anything from last night and James hardly lets you eat. Plus, there was a 'help wanted' sign on a window, which was the perfect opportunity to ask for a job.

You went towards the door and walked inside, where you were greeted by a woman who looked to be the owner as she was rolling dough with her rolling pin. When she heard you coming in, she gasped and set down her rolling pin before she said, "A customer." You briefly looked at her, oddly, at the way she said that as if she hasn't had a single customer in a very long time. "Would you like a meat pie, deary?" She asked. "Yes. Yes, please." You answered. "Have a seat and I'll bring you over a nice, juicy meat pie." She said, and, then, you set your suitcase down and sat at one of the empty tables while she was dishing you up a plate with a meat pie on it.

Then, she moved from her spot and walked over to where you were sitting, with the plate in her hand. She the placed the plate in front of you and said, "Here you are. A nice hot meat pie fresh out of the oven. Tuck in, deary." You instantly grabbed the meat pie off the plate and took two big bites of it. The meat wasn't the most appetizing, but you didn't mind it at all and you needed to eat something. The woman sat in an empty chair next to you as she watched you eating your meat pie. "By the way you're eating, you look as if you haven't eaten in days." "To be honest, I haven't eaten that much food in such a long time." You said, with you mouth slightly full, before you took another bite.

"Are you the owner of this place?" You asked. "Yes. I am. I'm Mrs. Lovett and I probably sell the worst pies in London." The woman, Mrs. Lovett, answered. You briefly stopped eating after she said the last part, but you, then, continued to eat, not even caring if you're eating what's considered 'the worst pies in London'. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Lovett. My name's (y/n)." You said, not wanting to say your married last name. "It's nice to meet you, (y/n)." Mrs. Lovett said back.

She, then, looked down and saw your suitcase sitting next to you before looking back at you as you were finishing up the meat pie. "By the way you're eating, (y/n), you look as if you haven't eaten in days." "To be honest, I haven't eaten that much food in such a long time because of my husband controlling my life. Which is why I ran away from him." You confessed. "Are you not from London?" Mrs. Lovett asked. You shook your head and said, "No. I'm from Dartford. I took a ship from there to find somewhere to live here in London, which is why I have a suitcase with me."

Over the next thirty minutes, you talked with Mrs. Lovett about your life with James and what he's been like towards you during your marriage with him. It was difficult to talk about it, but since you were far away from James, you felt more comfortable to letting it out, especially when it was the very first time talking about your life with him to someone else. Mrs. Lovett listened the whole time and she gave you a sympathetic look whenever you brought up the horrible things that James had done to you.

"Do you have any place to stay?" Mrs. Lovett asked. "No. I haven't found a place to stay and I'm not familiar with all the areas here in London. Speaking of which, I came in here to ask you for a job if you were still hiring." You said. "I am hiring and I can give you job. I can have you be a server and help tidy up around here. Plus, I can give you a place to stay. I have an empty room next to mine." Mrs. Lovett explained. You were flabbergasted of not only Mrs. Lovett offering you a job, but she was also willing to give you a room as well. "You're really giving me a room to live in?" You asked, happily. "Of course, deary. I wouldn't want a poor girl like you wondering around the streets of London not even knowing where you're going." Mrs. Lovett said. You smiled and said, "Oh, thank you so much, Mrs. Lovett. You have no idea how much I really appreciate it and I promise I won't let you down."

"It's nice to see you happy, (y/n). It'll be even more nice that it won't be so lonely here anymore with just me and Mr. Todd now that you'll be staying." Mrs. Lovett spoke. "Who's Mr. Todd?" You asked, curiously. "He's a barber from upstairs. Come with me. I'll let you meet him." Mrs. Lovett said, as she got from her chair and you got up from yours and followed her out the side door, where you walked up the stairs and followed her to a barbershop door. She opened it and gestured you to walk in with her and a man standing in the corner, making a tea from a tea kettle.

"Mr. T, there's someone I would like you to meet." Mrs. Lovett announced to get his attention. He, then, turned around, revealing his appearance that captured your attention. He had pale skin, dark brown eyes with dark circles under them, and he had dark hair with a white stripe on the right side. He was scowling a bit and giving off a creepy vibe, but for some reason, you find him very attractive and handsome. You noticed his scowl was melting away when he made eye contact with you.

"I would like you to meet (y/n). She just moved here not too long ago and she's my newly hired worker." Mrs. Lovett introduced you. "Hi." You simply said, while you held your hand out towards him. "Pleasure to meet you, (y/n)." He said, as he walked towards you and, gently, took your hand into his. "The name's Todd. Sweeney Todd." He introduced himself, and, then, he leaned down and placed a kiss on top of your hand, which made you blush. 'Oh, my gosh. I just met his man not even a minute and he's doing something to me that I haven't felt in a long time. He's so much different than James.' You thought to yourself. "It's very nice to meet you too, Sweeney." You said back, and, then, he released your hand. "It's gonna be wonderful to have more company around here besides myself and Mrs. Lovett." Sweeney said. "Definitely. I'm looking forward to getting to know you." You said, and Sweeney grinned at you.

For the next two months, you have grown to loving your new life in London. You enjoy working at Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Shop as a server and help tidy up the place. You became very good friends with Mrs. Lovett, but you had a very close friendship with Sweeney. You both have gotten the chance to know each other, especially when the two of you discussed each other's past marriage. You felt horrible about what happened with Sweeney's past and what happened to his wife, Lucy, but Sweeney felt sympathetic and protective of you when he found out what James had done to you during your marriage with him. Sweeney vowed revenge for not only against Judge Turpin, the man that ruined his life, but he also vowed to give James a 'special shave' if he finds you and tries to hurt you again.

Even though you've only Sweeney for two months, you felt like you've known him forever as you developed feelings for him. You didn't have the guts to confess your feelings towards him as he's a married man and also has a daughter named 'Johanna' and you kept thinking that he wasn't interested in finding a new love life as he talks about them all the time. But unbeknownst to you, Sweeney has also developed feelings for you too, but didn't want to tell you as well because he too was thinking that you weren't ready to look for a new love life after going through the trauma with James.

It was close to the afternoon as you were cleaning the meat shop while Mrs. Lovett was out running some errands for an hour. You were currently mopping the floor when you heard the side door opening. You looked to see who it was and it was none other than Sweeney, who had a smile on his face. "Hi, Sweeney. How are you doing?" You said. "I'm fine, (y/n). I always enjoy taking the time to talk with you when I'm not busy." Sweeney said, which made you chuckle, softly. "I always enjoy our talks too." You commented. "How about you? How are you doing, sweetheart?" He asked. "I'm doing good, Sweeney. Just tidying up around here until Mrs. Lovett comes back." You answered, and Sweeney nodded back in response.

There was nothing but silence for a few seconds until Sweeney spoke again. "(y/n), there's...there's something that I've been needing to talk with you about for quite awhile and I think it's time that I tell you." You heard him say, but you were distracted on mopping the floor, you weren't concentrating on Sweeney talking to you. Then, you noticed that you missed a spot on the floor and you went to go mop it up. But as you were carefully walking towards the spot, you, suddenly, slipped and was about to fall on the floor. You closed your eyes and braced yourself for impact.

But you didn't feel the floor below you. Instead, you felt a pair of arms catching you. When you opened your eyes, not only were you thankful for Sweeney saving you from falling, but you didn't expect to see his face close to yours. Your felt your cheeks getting hot as you stared into his dark brown eyes and felt the warmth of his breath on your lips. You wanted to kiss him so bad, but you were completely frozen.

Then, suddenly, you heard the main entrance door opening. "Excuse me? Is there food here? I'm starving." Your (e/c) eyes widened when you recognized the voice that spoke just now that you thought you'd never hear again. You and Sweeney turned your heads and saw a sloppy, drunk man who happened to be none other than your abusive, controlling, intoxicated husband, James.

"I stowed away on a ship from Dartford and have no money because my idiot wife stole all of my—" He began to say, but when he turned his head towards your direction, he grew an evil-looking scowl on his face when he saw you with Sweeney. "(y/n)." He growled. "James." You simply said, trying to hide your fear, as you moved away from Sweeney and a couple steps back. "So this is why you ran away from me and took all of my money." He said, pointing at you and Sweeney. "James, that's not the reason why I left you." You said, with your heart racing. But James ignored what you said and he, without warning, began walking towards you, about to attack you.

But before he could get any closer to you, he quickly grabbed by the neck by Sweeney. James tried to fight off Sweeney's grip, but Sweeney kept a good hold of him so that he wouldn't harm you. He pushed James on his knees on the floor, while he held his hands back. "No one like you harms a pretty woman I love while I'm around." Sweeney growled into James' ear, and, then, he grabbed his razor and brought it to James' neck. He slit the evil man's throat and blood splattered all over, getting all over the floor and on his white long sleeve shirt. You covered your mouth as you watched what was happening in front of you before Sweeney dropped James on the floor while he was gurgling and bleeding out all over the floor. You moved your hands away from your mouth as you watched him taking his last breath and laid, lifelessly, on the floor.

Your body and your breathing was shaking so bad, you didn't feel a pair of arms coming from Sweeney were wrapping around you. Once you came back to your senses, you rested your head on his shoulder and wrapped your arms around his waist, while you were taking deep breaths. "It's okay, sweetheart. It's okay." He whispered by your ear. You took a couple more deep breaths before you moved your head up so that you were facing Sweeney. "Are you alright, (y/n)?" He asked, softly. You nodded and said, "I'm fine, Sweeney. I'm shaken up from happened just now, but I'm very grateful for you saving my life from James. I will no longer have to be afraid of him." "I know. I know." Sweeney spoke.

You both stayed in each other's arms, not even uttering a word for a few seconds until something came to your mind. You looked at him again and asked, "Sweeney, is true about you said, 'a pretty woman you love'?" Sweeney caressed your cheek with his thumb and responded back, "Yes. It is true about what I said. I love you, (y/n). I've loved you since the day I've met you, but I didn't have the guts to confess." A smile was beginning to form on your face as you caressed his cheek and said back, "I love you too, Sweeney." Then, without hesitation, Sweeney leaned down and kissed you on the lips, with you kissing him back.

Moments later, you both stopped kissing when the two of you had forgotten something. "Sweeney, James' body and Mrs. Lovett will be back very soon." You mentioned. "You're right, (y/n). Let's take care of the mess." Sweeney said, and, then, he ran towards James' body and dragged it to the basement, where Mrs. Lovett's bakehouse was, while you started mopping the blood off the floor before Mrs. Lovett came back.
