Sweeney Todd #10

Imagine you're mad at Sweeney Todd and he tries to make it up to you.

You were at your flower shop in the streets of London, fixing up one more bouquet of flowers before you closed your shop for the day. As you were finishing up, you were approached by a young man with light blonde hair. "Hello, sir. What can I—" You were about to say, but once you looked up and made eye contact with the young man, you were loss for words when recognized him. "Oh, my goodness. Timothy Carter?" You questioned. The young man chuckled and said, "Hello, (y/n) (y/l/n). Long time no see."

"Long time indeed. 'Little Timothy', I can't believe it's you, the boy my mother used to babysit since he was a baby. I haven't seen you since you were ten when you and your family moved to Cambridge." You said. "Yes, that's right. About ten years ago. Now I live back here in London with my girlfriend, Annabel. Well, my soon-to-be fiancé once I propose to her." Timothy said. You gasped, excitedly, and said, "Oh, Timothy, that's fantastic. I'm so happy for you." "Thank you, (y/n). I wanted to get Annabel a beautiful bouquet of her favorite flowers before I ask her the important question. Would you by any chance have any red roses?" Timothy asked. "As a matter of fact, I do. I just finished making a bouquet of red roses not too long ago. I will be right back." You said, and, then, you went to the back room to look for the perfect bouquet.

Then, all of a sudden, Timothy was approached by a man, who had a scowl on his face. Timothy was instantly frightened when he was face-to-face with the mysterious man, who was slim, had pale skin, dark circles under his dark brown eyes, and dark fluffy hair with a white stripe on the right side of his hair. "What are you doing here talking to (y/n)?" He asked, in a gruff voice. "I—I was...I was just—" Timothy stuttered, trying to get an answer out, but he was interrupted by the man. "You were about to make a flirty move towards her and I will not allow you to do that to her." The man said, not realizing that he was making a complete fool of himself of his misunderstanding.

"N-No, s-sir. I-It's not what it seems. Wh-Who are you to tell me this nonsense?" Timothy questioned, with fear in his voice. "That is none of your concern, but I will tell you this. You stay away from (y/n) or the next time I see you, I will take you to my barbershop on Fleet Street and slice your throat." The mad, mysterious man threatened Timothy.

"Sweeney!" You exclaimed, in shock, when you walked out with the perfect bouquet of roses in your hand and saw what you had witnessed. The man who had threatened Timothy was none other than Sweeney Todd, who happened to be your closest friend that you've met three months ago when you went to Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Shop to apply for a job position as a second job for you. Timothy, petrified in his face, looked towards your direction and looked back at Sweeney before he took off running down the streets of London as quick as lightning.

After Timothy had run off, you dropped the bouquet of roses on the floor and stormed towards Sweeney, with no emotion on his face. "Sweeney, what has gotten into you? You have gone to the extreme level of mad! How dare you threaten poor Timothy!" You confronted him, angrily. "He was trying to flirt with you, (y/n), and I had to do something about it. I will not let any man who misbehave like him be near you." Sweeney said. "Flirt with me? Misbehave? Sweeney, that man was a childhood friend of mine that I haven't seen for many years and he's five years younger than me! He was just a customer looking for a bouquet of roses to give to his girlfriend before he asked her the important question that involved marriage!" You exclaimed, in a furious tone.

When you explained all of that to him, Sweeney's facial expression, all of a sudden, went from emotionless to having a regretful look on his face once he realized his mistake and what he had done. "Oh, my God." He spoke, softly. "(y/n), I—" He was about to say more, but you immediately turned away from him and quickly walked away from him to go to the coat hanger to grab your shawl and purse. "Forget it! I don't want to hear your apology! You've done enough damage!" You said, as you were putting on your shawl and grabbed your purse. "(y/n), please. I'm sorry." Sweeney apologized. "Sorry isn't good enough! You've embarrassed me and scared Timothy away with your harsh threat! You've gone too far!" You said, as you walked past Sweeney, who followed you from behind.

"(y/n), please let me explain my behavior of why I did it." Sweeney said, desperately. You closed the door to your shop and locked the door before you turned to him and said, "I don't wanna hear it! I don't want to see you or talk to you ever again! And do me a favor and don't follow me home, Todd!" You said, in a warning tone, and, then, you walked away from him.

Once you were out of sight, Sweeney stood in his spot under the dark overcast clouds, with a sad expression on his face. He couldn't believe that his unnecessary behavior and actions had caused you to never speak or lay eyes on him ever again. It wasn't something he didn't want to happen and he now regrets it. He's already suffered being taken away from his wife, Lucy, and daughter, Johanna, and being sent to prison by Judge Turpin fifteen years ago. Now he feels like he's losing the closest person that means so much to him.

"Toby, throw the old woman out!" Mrs. Lovett ordered Toby, as she was closing up her Meat Pie Shop for the evening. Toby, then, used his handkerchief to shoo away an old beggar woman. Once every customer was gone, Mrs. Lovett and Toby sat down at one of the tables, letting out a sigh of exhaustion. "So many customers, ma'am." Toby commented. "Yes, there were. But business is business and the customers love the meat pies." Mrs. Lovett said. "I wonder where (y/n) and Mr. T have gone off to. They should've been back here a long time ago." She added, curiously. "Perhaps he's taking a long time to tell (y/n) what he's been planning on confessing to her." Toby guessed, and Mrs. Lovett shrugged her shoulders.

Then, as if on cue, a depressed Sweeney Todd walked inside the shop, with tear stains on his cheeks. "Mr. Todd, you're back." Toby exclaimed, as he and Mrs. Lovett got up from their chairs and walked towards Sweeney. "Where is (y/n), Mr. T? Did you tell her how you feel about her?" Mrs. Lovett asked. But Sweeney shook his head. Mrs. Lovett and Toby saw the tear stains on Sweeney's cheeks and they could tell that something was wrong. "I didn't get the chance to tell (y/n) how I feel about her because...I did something that caused her to never speak or see me ever again." Sweeney told them. Mrs. Lovett gasped and asked, "Mr. T, what did you do?"

For the next ten minutes, Sweeney told Mrs. Lovett and Toby everything that happened; from the moment he stopped at your flower shop offering to walk and talk with you to the moment he last saw you. Mrs. Lovett was rather disappointed with how Sweeney handled it. "Oh, dear me, Mr. T. I'd really wish you kept your jealousy to yourself and not judge too quickly to any gentleman when they're near (y/n)." She said. "I know. What I did was wrong and I wish I could take it back. I mean, I love (y/n) and I really wanted to tell her that. But seeing her with another man had caused me to be jealous and behave very harshly towards the lad. I really want to tell her how sorry I am, but she doesn't want anything to do with me now." Sweeney said, with his eyes starting to tear up.

For a moment, Sweeney didn't say a word until he thought of something. "Mrs. Lovett, I would be much obliged if you and Toby could maybe convince (y/n) to give me a chance to talk with me and to listen what I have to say." He said. "Oh, I don't know. This is a situation that's between you and her. Perhaps give the poor girl some time and space after everything that had happened earlier." Mrs. Lovett said. Sweeney, then, took her hand and said, desperately, "Please, Mrs. Lovett. I'm begging you. I can't bare to lose (y/n) all because of what I did and she always listens to you. Please, try talking with her."

After thinking about it, Mrs. Lovett nodded and said, "Alright. We'll go and see (y/n) and talk with her. Come on, Toby." Then, she and Toby grabbed their coats and left the Meat Pie Shop to go to your family home where you were living. Once to the two of them had left, Sweeney did nothing but sit at one of the tables, with a couple of tears falling down his cheeks, while he kept thinking about you. "I'm so ashamed of myself. I've already lost my Lucy. Now I feel like I'm losing my (y/n)." He spoke, softly, to himself.

(A/N: Requested song. The song is 'Stay', by Victoria Justice. I changed some of the lines to make it seem like Sweeney is singing this.)

Two in the morning, a bottle of wine and
I'm drunk and I'm falling for you
Take it or leave it, you know what I'm feeling
And I know you feeling it, too

I'm all up in my head
On the edge of the bed, oh
I swear, I never do this, but

Won't you stay, stay, stay, stay home?
Won't you stay, stay, stay, stay home?

Don't gotta go nowhere
We could stay right here
Oh, tell me you don't wanna leave
I'm catching you staring
Well, you know what you're doing
I love what you're doing to me

I'm all up in my head
On the edge of the bed, oh
I swear, I never do this, but

Won't you stay, stay, stay, stay home?
Won't you stay, stay, stay, stay home?
Won't you let me take you into my arms
And let me pull you in closer?
Won't you stay, stay, stay, stay home?

We could stay up 'til the sun rises
All night long, all night long, yeah
And this feeling's too good to fight
It can't be wrong, no, it can't be wrong
Two in the morning, a bottle of wine and
I'm drunk, and I'm falling for you
Stay

Stay, stay, stay, stay home
Won't you stay, stay, stay home?
Please just let me take you in my arms
And pull you in closer
Won't you stay, stay, stay, stay home?
Stay

But even when Mrs. Lovett and Toby went to go talk with you that same day, you still refused to talk with Sweeney, no matter how much they tried to convince you of how sorry he was. Even though you felt guilty for making him sad and not talking with him, you still had every right to be mad at him after what he did. You have known him for being overly obsessed with plotting his revenge against Judge Turpin and for slicing his customers throats for meat supply reasons for Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Shop. But when he puts his actions and behavior towards an innocent person that you know that was truly unnecessary, it's unforgiving to you.

A whole week had gone by and you still refused to speak or see Sweeney. With Sweeney, on the other hand, he sat up in his barbershop the whole week without leaving. All he could do was sit in his barber chair, with that depressed look never leaving his face, thinking about you, what you're doing, and what he could do to make it up to you. But he couldn't think of anything.

Until one evening...

"Mr. T, are you sure this is gonna work?" Mrs. Lovett questioned, doubtfully. "It should work, Mrs. Lovett. I remembered one day that (y/n) had mentioned that she had always wanted this ever since she was a little girl." Sweeney said, as he and Mrs. Lovett glanced behind to see Toby, with a full grown German Shepherd on a leash. "Maybe we should've gotten (y/n) a puppy, Mr. Todd." Toby complained. "No. It's perfect, Toby." Sweeney said.

Once the trio had reached your family home, Sweeney saw a light on in the family den and a female silhouette figure through the curtains. "Alright. (y/n) is in the den. Give me the dog." He said, and, then, Toby immediately gave him the leash and the dog slightly growled. "But the door is locked. How are you gonna get the dog in there?" Mrs. Lovett asked. "Oh. Right. I got it. Give me a hair pin." Sweeney said, and Mrs. Lovett took a hair pin out of her hair and handed it to Sweeney, who used it to pick the lock on the door. He opened the door, walked the dog up to the door, and released it inside the house before he closed and locked the door.

"Okay. The dog is inside and once (y/n) sees it, maybe she'll—" Sweeney was about to finish, but, then, a scream and barking interrupted him. Everyone turned their attention towards the shadowed female figure through the curtain of the window and noticed the German Shepherd attacking the female figure. "Oh, dear me! Mr. T, that dog is attacking (y/n)!" Mrs. Lovett exclaimed. "I see that! (y/n)!" Sweeney said, freaking out. "Now she'll never forgive me." He added. "That's not important right now!" Mrs. Lovett said. "(y/n)! (y/n)! (y/n)!" Sweeney, Mrs. Lovett, and Toby shouted at the same time.

"What?" The trio yelled when they heard the sound of your voice from behind them. When they turned around, they were shocked to see you standing there, with two grocery bags in your hands, while you were feeling the same as they were. "What are you three doing here?" You asked. "What are we doing here? What are you doing here? You're in there being attacked by a dog!" Sweeney said. When he said the word 'attack', that's when you started to panic. "That's not me! My mother is in there!" You exclaimed, which made everyone, especially Sweeney, even more shocked than ever. "Oh, God." Sweeney breathed out.

You dropped your groceries and ran towards the door, with the others following behind you. When you opened the door, you screamed and Sweeney pulled you back, protectively, when you saw the German Shepherd and it barked at you. "That is not a dog! That's a beast!" You pointed out.

Sweeney and Toby finally caught the German Shepherd, while you and Mrs. Lovett helped your mother, who was injured from the attack. After Toby flagged down a carriage to take your mother to the hospital, you stood there with the group, startled and confused on why their was a German Shepherd in your house in the first place. You turned to them, without saying a word, but with an expression on your face that looked like you wanted to know how it happened.

For a moment, no one didn't say a word until Sweeney stepped forward and admitted, "It was my idea, (y/n)." You looked at him, surprised. "I wanted to get you a dog because I know you have mentioned to me that you love German Shepherds, not to hurt your mother with it, which I do apologize for that. But I mainly did it because it's my way of showing how sorry I really was from how I acted last week. I acted that way last week because I was gonna confess my feelings to you. But when I saw you with that young man, I instantly got jealous and I wasn't thinking on my actions. I love you, (y/n), and I didn't mean to hurt you and embarrass you in front of your friend. And if you still don't want to—"

But before Sweeney could finish what he was saying, you, suddenly, approached him and pressed your lips against his, without hesitating. Sweeney was taken back for a moment, but, then, he kissed you back, tenderly, while caressing your cheeks with both of his hands. Mrs. Lovett stood there with 'awe' in her eyes, while Toby just simply watched. You pulled away from the kiss and looked into Sweeney's dark brown eyes and said, "I love you too, Sweeney." With that being said, Sweeney smiled and leaned towards you and kissed you with passion, while you kissed him back.

But when Sweeney opened his eyes and glanced at Mrs. Lovett and Toby, he pulled away from the kiss and said to them, "I want to thank you both for helping me out with (y/n)." "It was our pleasure, Mr. T." Mrs. Lovett said, with Toby nodding. "Good. Now leave." Sweeney said, in a demanding tone at the end, before he turned back to you and resumed his make out session with you. "Come on, Toby. Let's give the lovebirds some space." Mrs. Lovett told Toby, and the two started walking home, while you and Sweeney continued kissing on the street in front of your home.
