JD Characters #2
Imagine you and the JD Characters are traveling for Christmas, but the flight gets delayed from a blizzard.
(A/N: Merry Christmas, everyone!)
It was around the afternoon on Christmas Eve as you were flying on an airplane with your friends, the JD Characters; Willy Wonka, Edward Scissorhands, Gilbert Grape, Tarrant 'Mad Hatter' Hightopp, Sam, John Dillinger, Jack Sparrow, and Sweeney Todd. Since your family had other plans, you decided to spend the first Christmas with your friends up in the mountains in Aspen, Colorado. You couldn't wait to spend time with them in Aspen, especially how beautiful the small town looked during the Christmas season.
It's been over a year since you met the JD Characters at your local cafe. First time was with Sam because you both perform there and, then, he introduced you to his friends when they came to visit. Afterwards, you became very close friends with all of the JD Characters, they felt like a second family to you, especially whenever you all did fun things together.

Two hours had gone by since the plane had taken off as you were looking at the view through the window while you were seated next to Willy and Hatter; Sam, Gilbert, and John sat in the back while Jack, Sweeney, and Edward sat in the front. "Excited to spend Christmas with us, (y/n)?" Willy asked. "Of course I'm excited to spend Christmas with you guys and I'm excited to give you guys your presents I have picked out for you all. It's nice to get out of town and spend Christmas somewhere else, especially when it's gonna be a white Christmas. That's always the best part." You answered.
"I'm glad we're going somewhere for Christmas. It will be different from Underland." Hatter said, cheerfully and lisping a bit. "There's so much to do while we're there, everyone. We'll cut our own tree down." John said. "And we'll decorate it." Edward added. "That's right, Edward. And we'll sit by the cozy fire." Gilbert said. "We can sing carols." Sweeney suggested. "I'll make my special hot chocolate." Willy said, gleefully. "And I'll whip up some of my special grilled cheese sandwiches." Sam said. "Yeah. Grilled by an iron." John mentioned. "Can we also add rum to the list of things to do?" Jack questioned. "Yes, Jack." You and everyone said, in unison. "This is going to be the best Christmas." You said.
Then, you heard the flight attendant make an announcement over the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen, the captain has informed me that there is blizzard heading in our direction, so we have to make an emergency landing at the nearest airport. We're so sorry for the inconvenience. Please fasten your seatbelts as we make our landing." Once that was announced, everyone, including you and the JD Characters, groaned that the flight was making an emergency landing. It was starting to worry you that the Christmas plans with the JD Characters were gonna change.
"What? An emergency landing? But we can't do that. It's Christmas, people. Nobody can't tell Captain Jack Sparrow what to do." Jack complained. "Jack, fasten your seatbelt." You told him. "Anything for you, love." Jack responded, dimwittedly, and he fastened his seatbelt. After dealing with the turbulence for a couple of minutes, the airplane landed safely on the ground near a small airport. Once it came to a complete halt, you, the JD Characters, and the rest of the passengers gathered up all the luggage and got off the plane, during the blizzard storm, while the flight attendants directed everyone to the small baggage claim area.
As soon as everyone was inside, JD Characters brushed all the snow off, while you helped Edward since he's got scissors for hands. While you were brushing the snow off your outfit, you heard Willy say, "I don't get it. How could this happen? This is ruining our plans." Willy complained. "I agree with you, Willy. This is not what we planned." Sweeney added. "Blizzards are the worst." Hatter said. "Don't worry, you guys. Maybe our flight is temporary delayed for an hour or two." You tried to cheer everyone up. "Yeah. (y/n)'s right. We'll just be hanging out here until they update us on our flight and we won't be stuck here in for a long time." Gilbert said.
Then, you and everyone heard the same flight attendant make a new announcement over the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen, due to the continuous blizzard, our flight will remain grounded until any further notice in the morning. Merry Christmas to you all." As soon as that announcement was made, you, the JD Characters, and the rest of the passengers complained and groaned. John crossed his arms and looked at Gilbert. "You were saying, Gilbert?" He said.
"I can't believe this." Sam said. "Does this mean that we won't be missing Christmas?" Edward asked, sadly. "Sounds like it, Edward." Jack responded, patting his back. "Aw, it can't be that bad, you guys. It could've been worse." You said. "That's true, (y/n). By the way, did we get all our luggage inside?" John asked. Then, you and the others checked and you noticed the suitcase that all of your Christmas presents inside was missing. "Oh, no! My suitcase with all the Christmas presents inside is missing!" You said. "It got worse." Sweeney mentioned, making you glare at him.
Then, the JD Characters went over to the seats and sat down, looking sad and gloomy. "This was some great idea for us to spend Christmas together." Gilbert grumbled. "We won't get to do our plans." Sam mentioned. "We should've stayed at home instead of having to spend Christmas in a baggage claim." Sweeney said. "We won't get to see a white Christmas up in the mountains." Hatter added. "No cozy fire to sit in front of." Willy also added. "The presents are lost." Edward said, innocently. "Did I mention that I miss the rum already?" Jack asked. "Christmas is ruined." John said, slumping in his chair.
Hearing all the JD Characters talking about how they felt was breaking your heart. But you knew what the true meaning of Christmas was all about. "Hey. That's not true, you guys. Christmas isn't ruined at all. So who cares if we're stuck in a baggage claim or if the presents are lost or we don't get to be up in the mountains in front of a cozy fireplace? It's not all what Christmas is all about. What the true meaning of Christmas is being around those who we love and to spend time with. That's all it matters." You told everyone and they were warming up to what you were saying. "You know what? If we have to spend Christmas in a baggage claim, then by all means, let's do that and give ourselves the best Christmas that we can get." You finished saying.
The JD Characters looked at each other and they all smiled before they all got up and met up with you. "You're right, (y/n). That's what Christmas is all about." Willy said. "Being together is more important and that's all it matters." John agreed.
"What can we do?" Hatter asked. "Well, since you asked, Hatter, you see that coat hanger over there? You and Edward can go and decorate to make it a fantastic Christmas tree." You suggested, and, then, Hatter and Edward went over to the coat hanger to decorate it.
"Gilbert, you, John, and Sweeney go over to that venting machine and gets some treats for us." You said, while getting change out of your wallet. "And don't splurge all it on just sweets." You added, and handed the change to John and the three men went over to the venting machine.
"What can I do?" Jack asked. "You know what, Jack? I know there's no rum with us. But I have a better idea. Go over to that small store and check if there's any eggnog." You told him. He looked at you, confused. "What's so different with eggy-nog compared to rum, (y/n)?" He questioned. You leaned in towards his ear and whispered, "Eggnog might contain alcohol in it." Then, Jack perked up and ran off towards the store. "I'm on it, love!" He shouted, excitedly. You chuckled at his reaction before turned to Willy. "And Willy, you still gonna make us some of your famous hot chocolate?" "I certainly will, sweetheart. I always come prepared." Willy exclaimed, while revealing his briefcase that contained his hot chocolate maker inside, and he over to spot to make it.
Lastly, you turned to Sam and asked, "What do you say we give everyone the Christmas spirit by singing them a song, Sam?" He smiled and responded, "I couldn't agree with you more, (y/n)." Then, he used his cane and started tapping some rhythms on multiple objects and you started singing:
Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring tingle tingling too (ring-a-ling-a ding-dong-ding!)
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you (ring-a-ling-a ding-dong-ding!)
Then, Sam joined in while continuing to make rhythmic music:
Outside the snow is falling and friends are calling "yoo hoo!" (ring-a-ling-a ding-dong-ding!)
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you (ring-a-ling-a ding-dong-ding!)
You and Sam began to sing and dance together:
Our cheeks are nice and rosy and comfy and cozy are we (ring-a-ling-a ding-dong-ding!)
We're snuggled up together like two birds of a feather would be (ring-a-ling-a ding-dong-ding!)
Let's take the road before us and sing a chorus or two (ring-a-ling-a ding-dong-ding!)
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you (ring-a-ling-a ding-dong-ding!)
"Come on, everybody! Join in!" You encouraged the rest of the JD Characters and the other passengers to sing along, which they did and danced along.

Early morning came along while you, the JD Characters, and the other passengers were fast asleep in any comfortable spot in the baggage claim area. It wasn't the most comfortable place to sleep, but nobody complained about it. You were resting your head on Willy's shoulders, everyone slept in a comfortable position on their seats, except when Edward had to sleep with his scissor hands dangling in the end seat he was in, while Jack was snoring loudly on the floor.
Moments later, you woke up and rubbed your eyes when you saw the crack of dawn from the window. You smiled when you remembered what day it was. You turned and whispered, "Willy, wake up. It's Christmas." Then, Willy woke up and rubbed his eyes before he looked at you and smiled. "Merry Christmas, cocoa bean." He whispered, and bopped the tip of your nose and you giggled afterwards.
The two of you got up and turned on the lights in the baggage claim and you both said out loud, "Wake up, everyone! It's Christmas! Wake up!" Then, the other JD Characters and some of the passengers woke up. The others joined up with you and Willy and formed a group hug. "Merry Christmas, you guys." You said. "Merry Christmas, (y/n)." The JD Characters said back, in unison. "You definitely made this the best Christmas, love." Jack said. "Couldn't agree more, Jack. We're glad to have you with us, (y/n)." Sweeney added. "Thanks, you guys. It's wonderful to spend Christmas with you all. I don't know how much better it could get." You added.
Then, suddenly, the conveyor belt moved, getting everyone's attention and you saw your suitcase that had the presents inside it appeared along with a red bag of presents. "You guys, the presents!" You exclaimed, and, then, you and the JD Characters went over to the conveyor belt. You opened the suitcase and, thankfully, all the presents were in there. "Awesome! All the presents are here!" You said. "That's wonderful, (y/n)!" Hatter said, while clapping his hands.
"But whose bag is that?" Gilbert questioned. You and the others shrugged. "What's in it?" Sam asked. Gilbert opened it and there were presents inside it. "It's presents." He said. "Is anyone missing a red bag filled with presents." John asked the passengers and they all shook their heads in response. "No one is missing any presents, John. Take a look." Gilbert said, and, then, he opened the bag even more wide and revealed the presents that had you, Gilbert's, and the other JD Characters names on them.
"They're for us." Sweeney said. "Are they from any of us?" Willy asked, and you all shook your heads. "I wouldn't remember." Jack responded. "Where did this bag of presents come from if it's not from any of us? Unless..." Edward said. When he mentioned the last part, you and everyone was deep in thought thinking of the one person that could've delivered those presents. "You guys don't think...?" You started to say. "It couldn't be." Sweeney doubted it. "Could it?" Willy muttered. "I wouldn't be surprised." Hatter said.
"Nah!" You all said. "I don't think that's possible." John said. "Yeah. Are we gonna believe that's it really was him?" Gilbert mentioned. "Maybe." Edward responded, softly. "I think all that eggy-nog is getting to me head." Jack mentioned. "I guess we'll never know." Sam said. "Well, it doesn't matter. Let's open our presents." You told everyone, and, then, you all started opening the presents, enjoying the best, unexpected Christmas together.
