Johnny Depp #8: Part 1

***Imagine going to a Hollywood Vampire concert with your best friend, where Johnny isn't able to keep his eyes off you.

Just a heads up, I've never been to a concert, so please forgive me if I'm wrong.

Best friend's name: BF/N

Just a caution, there is one mention of drugs, but that's it.

*****************

"Excited?!" I asked my best friend, squeezing her arm, as we took the train to the O2 arena, where our favourite band Hollywood Vampires were performing.

"Excited? Of course, I'm excited! I can't wait to see/hear them perform their new Rise album!" My best friend squealed, her eyes sparkling.

"Me neither, I just hope we get there on time," I replied anxiously, looking at my watch, which read 00:10 am.
We were going to see their 1 am showing, so I was nervous that we wouldn't get to the arena on time - hopefully, we did.
We'd emptied our piggy banks and saved up every penny we had to buy tickets.

"Of course, we will don't worry. It's gonna be fine," my best friend assured me, patting my shoulder comfortingly.

"You've got the tickets to haven't you BF/N? We won't be able to get in without them."

"Yep, they're here in my purse."
She opened her purse and showed me the two tickets, which eased my anxiety slightly.

That gave me slight peace of mind, to know that the tickets were safe.

"Now come on, this is our stop," B/Fn said, taking my hand and pulling me towards the train doors, where we got off at North Greenwich station.
"Now which way do we go?" She questioned, scratching her head with her free hand and looking around once we got out of the station.

"You can let go now," I said, looking down at our hands, which were still linked together.

"Oh right sorry," B/Fn apologised, going red with embarrassment as she quickly let go of my hand.

"It's alright. Just forget about it. Anyway, let's find our way to the arena..." I looked around with confusion, just as B/Fn had done. I didn't know what to do.
"Oh right, of course. I'm so stupid." I mentally and physically face palmed myself. "Let's just ask one of the station staff. That man over there." I pointed out a middle-aged man in blue uniform to B/Fn, who stood behind us on our right. "Let's ask him. He'll probably know."

" 'scuse me, sir, do you know how to get to the O2 arena?" I asked, walking over to the man in the blue uniform.

The man looked at us, as we walked up to him. "Where did you say you were heading?" He inquired, having not heard us the first time.

"The O2 arena," I replied.

The man looked thoughtful for a moment, before smiling. "Certainly miss. Cross the road, then turn left and keep walking, then turn right.
Keep walking until you come to a Prezzo at the end of the street. Then turn right again and cross the road again and the arena will be right in front of you." He instructed us.

"Alright, thanks a lot," I grinned.

"Cheers," B/Fn added thankfully.

"No problem. What are you girls going to see?" He asked us curiously.

"The Hollywood Vampires. We're going to see them at one o'clock," we told him.

"I haven't heard of them before, but they sound like a good band. First concert?"

"Yeah," I couldn't help shuffling my feet and scratching up and down my arms with my nails as I said this. I was getting anxious about the time.

"Who are they made up of?" The blue-uniformed man cajoled, not seeming to realise that the longer we stood here chatting like old friends, the later we were gonna be, and the greater chance that we had of actually ending up missing the concert.

Okay, boomer, you're old, I get it, but maybe you should just Google it and let me and my best friend get to our concert. We've been saving up all our little coppers for these fricking tickets for ages, and we're not going to just stand around and let our money go to waste with your babbling.

"Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, Johnny Depp and Tommy Henriksen. That's right isn't it, Y/N?" B/Fn said, looking at me for verification.

"What?" I faltered, looking at the man and my best friend. I hadn't been listening to what they'd been saying. I'd been too busy studying one of the underground maps on the pale yellow tiled station wall. I kept checking my watch, so I could keep an eye on the time. I didn't want to miss this concert.
These guys are practically my idols.
"Oh yeah, that's right," I mumbled, before trailing off and going back to looking at the Underground map. There were so many colourful squiggly lines that I was beginning to get cross-eyed from trying to figure out which line we were on.

B/Fn and the blue-uniformed man went straight back to talking.

Once it hit 00:25 I started getting nervous. We only had thirty-five minutes left to get to the arena, before we were late.
My anxiety returned, and my stomach began to feel as though it had been twisted into a tight knot.
I screwed my eyes up with pain and rubbed my stomach, hoping it would ease the horrible feeling in my gut.

"Y/N, are you ok?" Asked my best friend concernedly, her eyebrows furrowed.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I've just got a bit of anxiety going on," I explained, putting my hand into my pocket and squeezing my squishy anxiety toy to help my stress level go down. "It's just it's almost half past midnight, so we need to get going unless we plan on missing the concert. I'll be pissed if we do."

B/Fn's eyes widened. "It is?! Omg! Um... yeah, it was nice talking to you, but we've got to get going..." B/Fn told the blue-uniformed man, as she turned back to him.

"You too. Now you two young ladies skedaddle and enjoy your show. Stay safe and stay together. Concerts are quite crowded and big, it can be easy to get lost, so you two stick together." The man replied. "Now shoo before you miss it," he smiled, shooing us.

"Thank you," B/Fn and I cried before we crossed the street and ran towards the arena.

******************************

Three minutes or so later, we arrived at the arena. We were in awe at how big it was.

"Come on," I giggled enthusiastically. Grabbing B/Fn's hand, we ran up the stairs and through the front doors.
Once inside, our tickets were checked and security searched our bags.

Sorry, I don't know how this kind of thing works. Forgive me.

It was twenty-five to one, once our bags had been checked. Everything seemed to be hunky-dory, so security beckoned us forward.

"Let's talk over there," I suggested, pointing to a popcorn dispenser, once we had gone through security.

Taking B/Fn and I to the side, so we wouldn't get in the way of the rest of the people, who were coming in and out, I read aloud the instructions on our tickets.
"Right, we're in row A, seats six and seven."

"The A row is the front row, right?"

"Yep." I couldn't help the huge grin spreading across my face.

"Then what are we waiting for?" Asked B/Fn giddily.

Grabbing each other's hands once again, we excitedly went into the slightly crowded auditorium. It wasn't packed, but it was certainly filling up quickly.
The lights were thankfully still on, so we found our seats with ease.
"What time is it?" Wondered B/Fn, looking around for a clock as we sat down in our seats. I don't know how she expected to find one, the room was massive and mostly made up of seats. There probably wasn't even a clock here.

"It's ten to one, so we got here just on time," I said, checking my phone.
I cannot tell you how relieved I was to know that we were on time.
"Let's mute our phones, so if someone rings, it won't distract the guys or piss anyone off."

"Good idea, I'm not taking any chances."

After muting our phones and chatting for a bit, we heard a voice over the loudspeaker.
The room, which was now full and had been full of chatter, suddenly went quiet and dark. It was so quiet in fact, that you could've heard a pin drop.

"It's starting!" Giggled B/Fn through the darkness, shaking my arm.

"Ssshhh!" I shushed her.

"Welcome to the O2 arena, it's a pleasure to see so many of you here tonight. Thank you to our supporting band Hollywood Vampires, who will be performing at one o'clock in just a few short moments.
Just a reminder that no food or drink is allowed in the auditorium unless you've bought it here..."
The person over the loudspeaker continued until I finally heard what I'd been waiting to hear for weeks and weeks.
"And now without further ado, please welcome Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, Johnny Depp, Tommy Henriksen and the rest of their band to the stage. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, the Hollywood Vampires!!!!!"

At those words, the whole arena, including myself and BF/n, went one cheered and screamed as t walked onto the stage.
The guys all waved cheerfully at the crowd, which made everyone even more hysterical and scream even louder

As the guys walked onto the stage and adjusted their instruments, I pointed out EVERYONE to BF/n.
"Look, there's Alice Cooper, and Joe Perry and look there's Johnny Depp!!!!!" I giggled/screamed, jumping up and down as I pointed at him and the rest of the band. "There's the drummer Glen Sobel, the bassist Chris Wyse from the band The Cult. And over there is Buck Johnson from Aerosmith. Can you see him?"

"Yes Y/N I can. Please, stop yanking my arm up and down, otherwise, it's gonna drop off. I know you are excited, but you gotta calm down," BF/n told me.

But I couldn't calm down, I was too hyped up.
I got even more so when they started playing their first song: I Want My Now!

"...I want a house, I want a car, I want to be a movie star. I want some gold, I wanna brick, I want a diamond selfie stick...yeah.
I want a jet, I want to fly, I never wanna answer why. I want a crown, I want to reign, want to be a royal pain...And I want it...NOW!" Everyone sang the chorus, before going crazy at the 'now!' bit. I loved how everyone was so engaged with the song.

The song is above.

As the guys continued playing, Johnny started playing near us. BF/n and I started waving ecstatically at him.
He looked up at us, waved and smiled. But for some reason, as he smiled at us, his eyes fixed on me for a reason.
I stared at him, a smile growing on my face. I tried to hide my cheesy smile, by hiding my face in my black denim jacket, but alas, it did not work.

"I think someone's got an admirer," whispered BF/n. There was no need to whisper, everyone was fucking screaming, for goodness sake.

I looked around for said admirer.
"Where? Who?" I honestly did not know what or who my best friend was talking about.

"It's you girl!"

"Wait what?! No, it can't be me. It's probably someone else..."

BF/n rolled her eyes. "That's probably why he was looking in your/our direction. It is me. Didn't you see the way he was looking at you? Well of course you didn't, you had your face in your jacket because you got embarrassed for smiling cheesier than a cheese pizza."

"I can't help it. I don't want to seem like a weirdo or extremely cray-cray to him. He's my idol," I mumbled.

"I would never have guessed," BF/n remarked sarcastically.

For the rest of the concert, we sang along with everybody else. We were almost hoarse because we'd been singing so much. It was worth it though.
As a line from the film Dirty Dancing clearly states: 'I've had the time of my life.' I continued to glance at him for the whole forty-five minutes that there was left, unsure if he was looking in my direction.
At one point, BF/n and I had to duck, because someone threw a bra onto the stage.
We couldn't help but burst into laughter when Johnny caught it and swung it round and round by the strap.

"Captain Jack Sparrow has entered the group chat," I muttered.

We both sniggered.

We continued to watch Johnny, as he repeatedly swung the bra round and round before he put it down on Chris Wyse's shoulder. Both of us almost died laughing when he did that.
We must have been pretty loud because Johnny and Chris looked over at us like 'wtf?' Johnny's 'wtf?' face changed to an ear to ear grin when he saw that he'd made us laugh.
Anyway, the people in our row and the people behind shushed us. A rude lady even told us that we were ruining the concert and that if we didn't pipe down, we'd have to either leave, or she'd call security on us. That was pretty rich coming from someone who had decided to bring their extremely loud screaming three-year-old along to a rock concert. Yeah, good move lady.

I tell you, that kid had the lungs of a bull moose.

I was tempted to turn around and say 'Ok boomer', but I didn't want me and BF/N to get kicked out, so we piped down. I still kept getting the urge to laugh, however, so I stuffed a tissue into my mouth to stop myself from splitting my sides.
BF/n did the same thing since her laughter is probably the most contagious. Once one of us starts laughing we can't stop.
When we eventually did, I made sure to take the wet tissue out of my mouth and stuff it into my jeans pocket. I didn't want to risk embarrassing myself again.

Like 2 hours later

"Wow, that was amazing!" BF/n breathed once the concert was over and the lights came back on.
We couldn't help but stay sat in our seats in absolute amazement. In other words, we were completely and utterly blown away.

"You can say that again. Come on, let's go, we're very nearly the last ones left. It's three o'clock in the morning after all," I yawned.
"When we get home, you can stay at my place for the night. It's too dangerous for you to drive, especially at this time. You know, I'm not even going to bother to get into my pyjamas, I'm just gonna flop down onto my bed and fall asleep." I yawned, as we got up and gathered our stuff.

"Same."

"I can't believe that boomer behind us had the nerve to tell us to pipe down. Like, if you don't want people to talk, then, don't come to a concert with your screaming child. I mean like, it's ridiculous, isn't it? And, btw, it's a rock concert, it's gonna be mega loud, so it's unfair that we were being told to shush."

"Yeah," agreed BF/N, picking her handbag up off her seat and putting it over her head and on her shoulder. "And I'm pretty sure she fueled that kid up on espresso, cause he was just yelling his head off."

"He was like three, all toddlers scream and act like they're on crack."

We both turned to each other and laughed.

"And this is why we're best friends." BF/n grinned, linking her arm with mine. "Not all toddlers though," she added.

We'd begun to push the door open when someone started speaking. Turning around, we almost fell over with shock when we saw who was walking towards us.
"Excuse me, you left your bag in the front row. I thought I should give it back," said Johnny Depp, handing me my handbag.

"Thank you," I replied, taking it from him, trying to act casual even though I was freaking out inside.

"No problem. Hey, aren't you the girls who were laughing and waved at me?"

"Yeah," we admitted. I turned red with embarrassment again and smiled, biting my lip as I stared at the floor.

"Y/N, I'm just going to go to the loo. I'll leave you two to talk for a bit," BF/n whispered, winking at me before disappearing out of the door so that Johnny and I were the only ones left in the room.

There was an awkward silence once BF/n left.

"So, did you guys enjoy the concert?" Asked Johnny.

"Yeah, we loved it. It's our first concert, so we were a bit nervous at first...well I was, but once it started our nerves just completely drowned out with excitement," I explained.

Johnny grinned for what seemed like the thousandth time tonight. "Thanks, I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. Um... I'm sorry if I kept staring at you, I know it was probably creepy and stuff.
It's just when I saw you, I couldn't help but think you were like..." Johnny looked as though he was trying to blurt out something that he wanted to say.

I couldn't help but fangirl inside when he said that. He didn't finish his sentence, but it was still really cute.

"Aww, thank you. That's sweet. Um...if it's ok with you, can I get a picture and your autograph?" I'd bought it along with my favourite picture, in case I ever got a chance to get his autograph.

"Sure."

Pulling out my phone and putting it into selfie mode, Johnny and I took a few quick pictures together.

I had a strong urge to kiss him on the cheek, but I thought better of it. It would be genuinely frowned upon by society if I acted on my urges.

"Well, um, thank you for letting me take a few pictures with you, it's the day. Can I, err, hug you?" I asked politely, keeping in mind that consent was essential.

"Sure," he blushed.

I hugged him and then pulled away.

"So err... thank you for the awesome concert and giving me my bag back, I don't know what would have happened if I left it here. But um... I've got to get going. My best friend and I have to get the train home, so..." I said tactfully, trying not to sound rude.

"That's quite understandable. It was nice meeting you. Oh yeah, would you like me to sign your picture?"

"Yes please," I smiled, handing over the picture.

"You know, I'd like to get to know you better, so maybe we can hang out sometime," Johnny said as he signed the picture.

I fangirled again.

"Yeah, I'd like that."

"Cool. So, if you'd ever like to set up a date for hanging out, just give me a call. The band and I are staying in London for quite a few months, because of tour stuff. So yeah. Give me a call or text whenever you like," he gave me my picture back, which was now signed, along with a small slip of paper that had his mobile number written on it.

"Thanks. I will."

"Right, I've got to get going now, before the guys leave without me and I know you do too. So, stay safe sweetheart and have a good journey home," he told me, a smile on his handsome face.

"You too."

"I'll maybe see or talk later. Bye," Johnny gently hugged and waved me goodbye before going through the auditorium's back door, leaving me all alone in a fangirling daze.

"How'd it go?" Inquired BF/n, when I finally made an appearance out of the auditorium.

"He smells hella great," I giggled, not even hearing what my best friend had said. "He's even more handsome up close. He's so utterly sweet, polite, nice and friendly. And is utterly adorable when he blushes."

BF/n smirked.

"Sounds like you had an awesome time. Damn, I'd have given anything to be you right then. And well, obviously, duh, it's Johnny Depp. Now come on, let's get going before we get shut inside."

Still fangirling inside, we exited the arena, disappeared into the dark cold night and went home, falling asleep before we'd even had a chance to say goodnight.

***Yay! The concert was a success! And Johnny wants to see you again! 😉 I hope you enjoyed this story. I had an idea for it for a while, so here it is.
Anyway, stay safe 😘***********
