I lived in a small town called Endora, nobody really came into this town and there weren't many things to do. I worked at Lamson's Grocery with Gilbert Grape. He was my only friend and he was a great co-worker.

"Hey, can you stack these for me? I need a bathroom break," asked Gilbert

"Sure, don't take too long."

He nodded and walked away, I heard moaning and I walked quietly towards the aisle, I gasped as I saw Gilbert and Mrs. Carver. I was right, I always suspected something nasty going on between the two. I felt a sting of jealously, I had liked Gilbert since kindergarten and this hurt me. I felt tears flood my eyes, I dropped the can I was holding, startling them and ran out.

I sat down on the floor, smoking a cigarette, the disgusting scene kept replaying in my mind leaving mental scarring.

The backdoor opened and gilbert sat down next to me, he grabbed my cigarette and smashed it on the floor.

"Fuck you."

"Those are gonna get you killed," replied Gilbert

"I don't really mind dying after what I just witnessed."

Gilbert scoffed, "It's just a hookup."

"With an old married woman, but that's your problem."

"Why are you being such a bitch about that?" asked Gilbert

"Because I fucking love you, Gil! Ever since we were kids I've always wanted you." I said with tears streaming down my face.

Gilbert sat there stunned at what I just had said, he didn't say anything he cupped my face and leaned in. His lips were soft and sweet, he kissed amazingly. I didn't want to let go, he let go to grab some air.

"I always had feelings for you (y/n). I was just scared to admit them," said Gilbert

"Well, now I know. Please say you're going to end things with her?"

He nodded, "Of course, I only want you."
