Y/n's POV:

It's been a week since Johnny and I had started dating. However, we couldn't tell anyone about our relationship! It would make our gangs' feud way worse. In order for that to be kept a secret, Johnny and I spend time together in the lot whenever we can.

"Y/n, when do you think the Greasers and Socs will stop fighting?" Johnny asked me one day.

"I'm not sure. I hope it's soon," I admitted. "I don't know how much more I can take of this feud."

Johnny wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "It'll be alright, y/n, I promise. I'll make sure that you're safe while everyone is fighting."

"Thank you, Johnnycake," I smiled. I snuggled into his chest. "You're really sweet, ya know?"

Johnny's POV:

"See ya later, y/n!"

"Bye, Johnnycake!"

Y/n skipped away merrily.

Gosh, I love her...

"Who's that?" A voice rang out from behind me. I jumped at the sound of it. Thankfully, it was just Dally.

"Dally, you scared me!"

"I said, who's that?" Dally sounded agitated.

"That's y/n," I began. "She's my girlfriend-"

"Girlfriend?!" Dally snapped. "She's a Soc for crying out loud! You shouldn't be dating her!"

"I love her, Dal and you can't change my mind," I said firmly.

"Oh, really?" Dally was skeptical. "What happens if she hurts you or any of the others? Would ya still love her then? Face it, Johnny, Socs hurt us Greasers. Don'tcha remember when I of 'em gave ya that scar?"

I stroked my finger down the scar that Bob Sheldon had given me. That experience was still scary to think about.

"I just don't want ya to get hurt, ok?" Dally pleaded. "Is that too much to ask?"

"I trust y/n and you should respect that," I countered. "She hates this rivalry just as much as I do."

"Alright then! Just don't tell me I told ya so," Dally muttered. He turned around and left.
