~Johnny's P.O.V~

Ruby and I got back home from school and went up to her room. I jumped onto her bed laying down on it. She scowled at me, it made me feel nervous when she did that, but I didn't show it. 

"Well that was fun!" I said.

"You got me sent to the principal's office!" she protested.

"But it was fun!" I said smiling.

"For you maybe!" she shouted angrily "You made me look like a crazy person talking to myself! If you keep this up they'll send me to a therapist! And then what will I tell them? That I just was talking to my imaginary friend! This was normal when I was six, it isn't normal now!"

I saw that she was close to tears, I hated it when she cried. Especially if it was something I did. I don't mean to make trouble and be bad, it's just the way she imagined her perfect friend, so that was how I was made.

"Ruby..." I said walking up to hug her.

She turned her back to me. "Can you please just leave me alone for a while? Take five or whatever?" she sniffled.

"Okay..." I said "but I can't go away completely... not just yet..."

And so I left and went into her imagination land.

Many people don't know this but inside every persons head there's an imagination land. Some are small and some are big, some are messy and some are neat, some are ugly and some are pretty.

Ruby's imagination land can be described in one word: Amazing! I wish she could see how miraculous it really was. I walked through the town where Ruby's imagination workers greeted me as I walked by, a few of the female workers giggled and waved at me. I waved back, shuddering, I'll never understand why girls like me so much.

Anyway I went up to the memory room in the main building of Ruby's imagination. All of Ruby's best memories are up there floating around in the air in shimmering balls of magic. I loved them all, I could grab any random one, stare into it and see the amazing things that Ruby remembered.

I walked to the middle of the room with the magical orbs floating around my head. I grabbed a light purple memory orb and twirled it in my hands:

I stared in to it and saw a little five year old Ruby and I hiding under the covers of her bed, while a thunder storm was outside. Ruby was scared, she

held her flashlight in one hand and her blankie in the other. 

"It's okay, Red" I told her "Hey, you wanna see something cool?"

She nodded.

"Hand me the flashlight" I said. 

She did and I shined it on the wall and I used my hands to make a bunny on the wall:

She giggled and the fear seemed to melt away inside her. She forgot all about the storm and we made shadow puppets on the wall till the storm was over and then we went to bed.

I smiled at the little memory and put it back into the air. I sighed, wishing it could be like that again. Ruby's changed somehow and I just keep seeing her as that same little girl that used to laugh at all my jokes and play pretend with me. Now she's so serious and grown up and doesn't want to play at all.

 Then all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain right in my middle and I heard a crash outside. I stepped out of the memory room, holding my stomach where the pain still stung slightly and what I saw made my mouth gape open.

One of the buildings in Ruby's imagination land- it fell right over and turned to rubble.

"What happened?" I asked one of the imagination workers.

"We don't know!" he said "It just came down! No one was hurt thank goodness!"

I suddenly put the pieces together... Ruby acting like a grown up...the pains in my middle...buildings in imagination land fall down for no reason. It's all leading to up to one thing:

Ruby's losing her imagination! And if that happens there will be no imagination land or workers or me!

I had to get back to Ruby and help remind her about what things used to be like and teach her to be a kid again!

I returned to Ruby's bed room and found her asleep in her bed, dried tears on her face. I pulled the covers up closer on her and kissed her forehead.

"Good-night Ruby" I whispered in her ear "Have sweet imagination-filled dreams."
