If You Bring Your Imaginary Friend To School...

~Ruby's P.O.V~

I woke up the next morning and tip-toeing as quietly as possible to get dressed. I didn't want to wake up Johnny, if I did he'd want to come to school with me and that's the last place I want people to see me talking to myself.

I was just about to grab my school bag, when I heard him yawn and ask "where are you going?"

I cringed so close! I thought. I turned and saw him sitting in the toy chest smirking at me.

"School" I answered.

"Oh...I'll come with you!" he stood up.

"No!" I almost shouted. "No" I said more quietly "I can go by myself."

He seemed to be considering it. "Okay!" he said.

I sighed in relief and went for the door.

"There's so much fun to be had here anyway" he said, mischief dripping from his words.

I looked at him, I knew Johnny and his idea of fun was always something bad that I would take the blame for. That was always how it worked when I was a kid.

"What kind of fun?" I asked.

"Well... does your sister still have that vase from your grandma, the one that's very expense?" he asked smirking "You know the one we were never allowed to touch or play around?"

I could picture Beth tearing into me for breaking that vase. It was a family heirloom and worth a lot.

"You wouldn't!" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Oh but I would!" he said. "You know how I love the sound of breaking glass!" he rubbed his hands together, smiling evilly.

"Okay! Okay! You can come to school with me!" I said.

"Glad you see things my way" he said smugly, walking out of the room with me.

I groaned.

We made it to first period homeroom, which was English, great, more of Gordon and his stupid pick-up lines. The bell rang and Johnny jumped.

"What the heck was that?" he asked "Is there a fire?"

"That means we have to get to class" I whispered to him.

We headed to class and I sat beside *shudder* Gordon. He leaned closer to me and said "are you the Mona Lisa? Because you are one fine piece of art!" he wiggled his eyebrows.

Johnny shot him a dirty look and got real close to his face.

"Do you own a hard ware store? No? Then stop acting like a tool!" he shot back.

Mr. Calvin came in and gave us out writing tests from yesterday back; I got an F, my very first F in English!

Johnny stared at my test over my shoulder. "Hey look! An F for fabulous!"

"That stands for failure!" I hissed.

"What was that, Miss Jackson?" asked Mr. Calvin.

"Nothing" I blushed as the class stared.

I watched as Johnny slid under Gordon's seat and tied his shoe laces together. He gave me thumbs up; I narrowed my eyes angrily at him.

Then we were given a grammar test Johnny looked at the other kid's tests and gave me the answer to number five which I was stuck on.

"You can't do that" I whispered.

"Why not? It's so much easier" he told me.

"It's cheating!" I hissed.

"Come on, Red" he said "do you really want to lose all your good girl grades because of that sleaze-ball beside you?"

"No..."

"Then cheat!" he yelled.

"I DON'T WANT TO!" I roared.

"That's it!" said my teacher "Miss Jackson, principal's office now!"

And that's how I spent first period walking to the principal's office. Johnny walked beside me, smiling, seeming practically proud of himself.

"I cannot believe you did that" I hissed angrily.

"I was just trying to help" he smirked.

"Well thanks a lot!" I threw my hands up in a fit.

"Your welcome!" he said smugly.

"Ugh!" I said walking ahead.

I sat in a chair outside the principal's office; no sooner than I did Justin Jefferson the cutest boy in our class came walking into the principal's office too. I stood up straighter and fixed my hair. Johnny came running in finally catching up to me and sat beside me.

"Jeeze! Your much faster now that you got longer legs!" he said "remember you had those little short legs when we used to hang out and- Ruby?"

I continued to stare at Justin.

Johnny waved a hand in front of my face and whistled. "What's the matter?" he asked "Are you sick?"

He followed my gaze over to Justin as he left the office.

When I finally snapped out of it and looked over at Johnny he was smirking and crossing his arms.

"What?" I blushed.

"You know since I came from your imagination I can also see everything that goes on in your mind" he said smugly.

My blush grew "it's not what you think."

"Of course it's not what I think it's what you think!" he said, making kissy noises.

I sank lower in my chair and groaned.
