Father's Day

"No, Rosie, don't stick your hand in that." Hamish said, taking his younger sister's hand out of the pancake batter.

"Bwuberri." Rosie said.

"I put the blueberries in already." Hamish sighed as he saw his sister had pancake batter all over her. "Rose, you made a mess."

"Sorry, Hammy."

Hamish got a napkin and tried to clean the batter off of her shirt. "We'll get you a clean shirt when we finish."

"Otay. Can I finish my card?"

"Yeah." Hamish pulled Rosie's high chair out and helped her in it and pushed her into the table. He gave her crayons and the piece of paper she had coloured. He went back to making the blueberry pancakes for his dads.

He let Rosie decorate the pancakes while he cleaned up. After she finished, they went upstairs and got her a new shirt and then went back down stairs to get the breakfast they had made. Hamish carried the tray of food while Rosie carried the two glasses of milk, with lids incase she dropped them.

"Ready?" Hamish asked.

Rosie nodded her head and they opened the door. "Happy dad day!" Rosie shouted.

John was the first to wake up. He smiled at his two kids who had made him and his husband breakfast.

Sherlock got up once Rosie found her way up onto their bed. He sat up and Hamish set the tray with pancakes on the bed.

"Breakfast in bed!" he said. "There was a lot of protien in the pancakes until Rose covered them in whipped cream."

Rosie had a satisfied smile on her face. She never liked how healthy her brother was.

"Well, they look delicious." John said, pulling Rosie into his lap.

"They're really good." Sherlock said with a mouth full of pancakes.

"Sherlock," John scowled him.

Sherlock swallowed the pancakes then said, "They are fantastic, my dear son."

John just scowled at him more and Hamish and Rosie laughed.

"I made card!" Rosie shouted, pulling a colourful peice of paper out from under the plate.

"Ah," Sherlock said, taking it. "It's very colourful."

"I wrote 'Happy Father's Day' on it for her, but she coloured over it."

"How about, you and your brother go make a new card while me and daddy enjoy our breakfast." John said.

"Otay!" Rosie climbed off the bed. "C'mon Hammy!" she shouted, running out of Sherlock and John's bedroom. Hamish followed behind her and closed his dads bedroom door.

"Are the pancakes actually good?" John asked.

"Yeah. Hamish is smart, and he can cook." Sherlock got a bite of pancake on the fork and fed it to John.

"Wow. I'm sure he gets it from you."

"Don't be absurd John. He grew up around Mrs. Hudson, I'm sure that's where he learned it from."

John smiled and kissed Sherlock. "As much as I'd love to spend the day with the kids, I'd like to sleep all day."

"Then why don't we?" Sherlock asked. "We can ask Molly to watch them, or just tell them to stay downstairs while we sleep."

"You know we are going to do a lot more than sleep."

Sherlock chuckled. "You're something else, John Watson."

John smiled. "As for you, Sherlock Watson."

Sherlock smiled and kissed John. "I say we call Molly up and give her some money and tell her to take them out to a film while we stay here."

"Sounds like a plan."

There was a small knock at their bedroom door. Johm got out of bed and went to answer it. Rosie put a rainbow sitcker on her dad's forehead and ran back to the playroom. John turned to Sherlock and Sherlock just laughed. John followed Rosie into the playroom.

"What are you guys doing?" John asked, taking the sitcker off his forehead.

Rosie giggled as she made a mess with some glitter.

"Rosie no!" John shouted, running over to her and taking the case of glitter.

Sherlock came in the room and saw the pile of glitter on the table flowing onto the floor. "I'll get the vacum." he said and walked out.

"No more glitter for you." John said, putting the glitter on a shelf where Rosie couldn't reach.

"But daddy!" she whined.

"I said no. Look at the mess you've made."

"I was tryin' to mke a card."

John crouched down to the level of her play table. He swept away the glitter with his hand and found a pink piece of paper coated in glitter. He shook it off and saw what look liked four glitter people, but he wasn't sure.

"It's you, daddy, Hammy, and me!" Roise said, pointing at every figure.

John chuckled. "I see it." He picked Rosie up. "Let's show this to daddy then."

"Show me what?" Sherlock asked.

John walked to Sherlock and gave him the art piece by their four year old daughter.

"This should go on the fridge." Sherlock said.

"Can it!" Rosie asked, excitedly.

John chuckled. "Of course it can." he set Rosie back down. "Go get Hamish to help while we clean the glitter up."

She nodded and took the paper from Sherlock, running out of the play room and to her brother's room.

John took the vacum from Sherlock and plugged it in, starting it and cleaning the mound of glitter on the floor. When he finished he put the vacum back in the closet then went down stairs with Sherlock to find their children over the remote.

"Hey!" Sherlock shouted, taking the remote. "What did we say about fighting over the remote?"

"One of us could get hurt." Hamish said.

"Exactly." Sherlock said. He put on the news and put the remote on the highest selft. John couldn't even reach it.

"We don't want to watch this!" Rosie whined.

"I know." Sherlock said. "Aunt Molly is going to take you guys to see a film, so go get ready."

Both the kids lit up and ran upstairs. John and Sherlock just laughed and watched.

"You texted Molly?" John asked.

"Yep. And after the moive she's going to take them to luch and when they get home; nap time."

"Mmmm," John hummed, pulling Sherlock to him. "That should be about three hours while they're out and two for their nap."

"Correct." Sherlock muttered, kissing John.

John kissed back but cursed under his breath when Molly knocked at the door.

"It's open!" John shouted.

Molly came in and walked to where John and Sherlock were. "How has today been so far?" she asked.

"Breakfast in bed and then a glitter mountian to clean up." John said.

Molly chuckled. "We'll be back around twelve, maybe one. I'll text you when we leave from where ever we eat."

Both the kids came running down the steps and attacked their aunt. Molly laughed and hugged the two back. While Molly talked with Hamish and Rosie, John went to his wallet and took some money out, giving it to Molly.

"Not a lot of sugar for Rosie and no soda for the both of them." John said.

"But daddy!" both of them whined.

"We'll get popcorn then, how does that sound?" Molly asked the both of them.

They both nodded their heads.

"Have fun." Sherlock said, kissing both kids on the head.

Molly hustled them out of the house and John and Sherlock were left alone.

"I think a bath sounds good right now." John said, wrapping his arms around Sherlock's waist.

"Does it now?" Sherlock asked.

"Yeah." John hummed, giving Sherlock a kiss. Sherlock kissed back and started backing up to the staircase.
