To Anyone and Everyone--

On this day, two-hundred sixty-two years ago, a great man was brought into the world in which we live. Of course, at that time, he was not yet the great man as we remember him, but he was definitely intended for historical fame and significance. The young boy known as "Jack" to his family would become a profound scholar, Washington's aide-de-camp, possibly the most prominent advocate for the abolition of slavery, and the best friend of Alexander Hamilton. Please take a moment to remember the man whose dream died with him, yet survived until this day. Please take a moment to honor the life of this revolutionary whose determination and courage earned him a place in our history. Please take a moment to sing "Happy Birthday" to the amazing Lieutenant-Colonel who strove for freedom.

Thank you, John Laurens.
