Joe, Jill and Jacob all meet Pope Francis. Just imagine Joe and Jill met the Pope after Halloween! Thank you to joebidenloving for helping me write this! Enjoy!

November 2nd, 2021

"Are you ready to go, honey?" Joe asks Jill as he fixes his tie in the mirror.

"I'm ready! Sorry I took so long, I had to change Jacob's diaper." Jill says as she walks over to Joe with Jacob in her arms.

*Jill, Joe and Jacob's outfits*

"It's okay, honey. There is my beautiful wife and handsome little man!" Joe says as he picks up Jacob and holds him close to him.

"He is doing pretty good with the time change, thank goodness." Jill says as she kisses Joe and Joe kisses Jill back.

"I knew he would. Are you ready to meet Pope Francis? He is such a special man!" Joe says to Jacob in a babyfied voice as he smiles at Jacob.

Jacob smiles back at Jill and Joe causing the both of them to smile.

"Mr. President and Madam First Lady, are you two ready to go?" Michael asks Jill and Joe and they both nod at him.

Jill, Michael, Joe and Jacob all walk over to the motorcade that is waiting outside for the trio.

"Jacob can come meet the Pope, correct?" Jill asks Michael, making sure Jacob is allowed to come.

"Yes, he is allowed to come! I don't know if Pope Francis knows he is tagging along but it will be a nice surprise!" Michael says to Jill with a grin.

Jill, Joe and Jacob all get in the car and head to the Vatican!

Jacob manages to take a quick cat nap during the forty five minute drive to the Vatican.

"Look at him, so well rested. I wish I could sleep like that." Jill giggles quietly as she leans in to Joe.

Jill and Joe both admire Jacob, asleep in his car seat and Joe lays his arm around Jill's shoulders, kissing Jill's forehead.

"I'm pleased to inform you that you're equally as cute when you sleep." Joe whispers in Jill's ear and kisses her temple as Jill playfully hits Joe on the arm.

"Do you still watch me when I sleep?" Jill chuckles at Joe.

"I can't help it, baby. You look too beautiful when you're totally relaxed. I can't help myself." Joe says, pulling Jill in to a tight embrace and Jacob makes a little cry as he stirs awake.

"It's okay baby, it's okay. It's only five more minutes and we will be there. Mama's here, Mama's here. Don't cry, baby." Jill tries to comfort Jacob and strokes his feet.

"Look Jacob, we are closing in." Joe says, remembering the buildings from his last trip to the Vatican.

Joe takes Jacob's little hand and Jacob warps his fingers around Joe's index finger.

"You will meet the Pope today, buddy. He is a very important man." Joe says and kisses Jacob's head.

"You'll be the most adorable baby he has ever seen." Joe says and strokes Jacob's cheek.

After a few more minutes of driving, Joe, Jill and Jacob have made it to the Vatican to meet Pope Francis.

Joe gets out of the car first and shakes hands with Monsignor Leonardo Sapienza, who runs the papal household and then greeted one by one the papal ushers.

"I am Joe Biden, Jill's husband. Here she comes now with our son, Jacob." Joe says as Jill walks over to everyone.

"Hello! It is nice to meet all of you today." Jill says as she manages to shake hands and hold Jacob at the same time.

Jacob has a blue pacifier in his mouth and a brown hat on his head but Jacob keeps knocking it off.

Joe, Jill and Jacob greet everyone before they all walk inside the Apostolic Palace and taken upstairs to the pope's private library.

Joe is walking with Monsignor Leonardo Sapienza while Jill and Jacob walk behind them.

Jacob coos happily and Jill smiles at her happy two month old, hoping he doesn't fuss when they are talking with Pope Francis.

Jacob turns his head in Jill's arms, causing his hat to fall off.

Jill's bends down to pick it up but David Cho, Joe's lead agent, picks it up and gives it to Jill.

"Thank you." Jill mouths as she takes the last few steps of the stairs.

Jill stuffs Jacob's hat in her jacket's pocket and kisses Jacob on the head.

"I guess you will meet the Pope without your hat." Jill whispers to Jacob as she stands behind Joe and the head of the papal household.

Jill, Jacob and Joe all wait for the doors to open so that they can enter and meet Pope Francis.

Joe turns around and looks at Jill and Jacob with a cheeky smile.

"Is everything alright?" Joe whispers and strokes Jacob's head.

"Yeah, we are all good. Jacob didn't seem to like the hat that's all." Jill whispers back and kisses Joe quickly on the lips before he turns around again.

A few minutes later, Pope Francis, his assistants and his Italian translator all walk over.

The Italian translator smiles at Pope Francis before smiling at Joe, Jill and Jacob.

"Hello, your holiness." Joe says as he shakes Pope Francis' hand before kissing it.

"This is my wife Jill and our two month old son, Jacob Francis Beau Biden. Our miracle baby." Joe says to Pope Francis and Pope Francis smiles listening to the Italian translator translate what Joe said.

"Hello, your holiness. It is such a joy to be here today, especially with our son." Jill says to Pope Francis and he smiles at her listening to his Italian translator.

Jill shakes Pope Francis' hand and kisses it as well.

Jacob states at Pope Francis, unsure what to think about this new person.

"It's very good to have you here and your baby son is very cute. Is he named after me?" The Pope says jokingly through the translator causing Joe and Jill to both laugh and smile.

Pope Francis picks up Jacob's little hand and shakes it. Jacob smiles at him when he sees Joe and Jill smiling.

"He seems to be a well behaved baby." Pope Francis says through the translator and smiles back at Jacob.

"He has his moments, your holiness. But he is also filled with emotion from time to time." Joe says with a smile.

"He is such a miracle, your holiness. We are so blessed to have him." Jill says proudly.

They all pose for photographs, Jill holds Jacob close and rubs his head to keep him calm

Jill, Jacob, Joe and Pope Francis walk over to a table to look at the exchanged gifts. Pope Francis presents a few gifts and Joe presents the US's gifts to Pope Francis.

"There is one extra thing I'd like to as your holiness to do." Joe says cautiously to Pope Francis and the translator translates what Joe just said.

"Absolutely Mr President, what do you want me to do?" Pope Francis asks and the translator translates what he said.

"Would you bless or baptize our son?" Joe asks as he rubs Jacob's head.

Pope Francis smiles and nods at Joe and Jill before holding his hands out.

Jill carefully hands Jacob to Pope Francis and Pope Francis softly kisses Jacob's head before saying a prayer in Italian to Jacob.

The translator happily translates the prayer to Joe and Jill so they can understand.

Jacob coos at Pope Francis as Pope Francis smiles at Jacob.

Pope Francis asks one of his assistants to bring holy water so he can baptize Jacob. 

Pope Francis continues to hold Jacob and Jacob holds his hand out for Pope Francis to hold.

Jill and Joe both smile as the press takes pictures of Pope Francis and Jacob together.

The Italian translator also smiles and waves are Jacob causing Jacob to smile.

"Is it okay if I baptize your son?" Pope Francis asks Joe and Jill and the Italian translator translates into English for them.

"Yes of course, your holiness. It would be an honor!" Joe says and smiles at Jacob.

"Yes, please." Jill says with a big smile at Jacob and at Pope Francis.

Pope Francis says a blessing over Jacob before he baptizes him with the holy water.

"I baptize you Jacob Francis Beau Biden in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost" Pops Francis says in Italian and drys Jacob's head of with a small towel.

"I welcome you into the world church of our lord Jesus Christ" Pope Francis says in Italian, kissing Jacob's head.

Jill wraps her arms around Joe's arm and rests her head on his shoulder. Joe embraces her back and kisses her head.

"Jacob is such a blessing, what would we have been without him?" Jill says and looks up at Joe.

"Life would have been good, but our little miracle boy makes it ten times better." Joe says and rubs Jill's cheek.

Pope Francis holds Jacob up for everyone in the room to see and the press takes photos of the newly baptized baby.

Pope Francis then hands Jacob back to Jill and Jill holds him close.

"You didn't even cry!" Jill says as she kisses Jacob's cheek.

Joe and Pope Francis then both walk into another room to chat privately for about ninety minutes. Jill and Jacob walk around the Vatican, looking at all of the sights and sounds!

Joe, Jill and Jacob all enjoyed meeting with Pope Francis! :)
