09 ; I've Got This Strange Feeling

Things felt different to Joan. Their plan on talking to Liam didn't turn out as well as they hoped seeing as Liam didn't even show up to his first period knowing that Joan would try to talk him just like Scott and Stiles did. But that wasn't the reason why Joan felt weird. They've dealt with newly bitten werewolves, aka Scott. Yes, it was an interesting yet terrifying time when it came to Scott's first full moon, but this time the pack was prepared to deal with Liam.

Joan couldn't put her finger on the weird feeling that filled her chest when Stiles picked her up that morning. Normally she felt slightly annoyed when Stiles did so, seeing as he loved to play his music to the highest volume it could possibly be in the morning. But today Joan couldn't help the smile that graced her lips when she took a seat in Stiles' Jeep.

A frown had formed upon Joan's face when they'd pulled up to the school, something she was defiantly not accustom to doing. School was her safe haven, but the thought of having to deal with a class of rowdy freshman without Stiles seemed absolutely terrifying. "I'll see you later, ya?" Joan asked, hopping out of Stiles' car and meeting him on the sidewalk.

Stiles nodded, hiking his backpack higher up his shoulder, "Yeah, defiantly. You gonna miss me during first period, Arcs?"

Joan laughed, playfully pumping her shoulder with his, "No, Stilinski. You're not good enough for me to miss."

"What! Come on, I'm pretty awesome. Without me you'd be no where seeing as I do give you rides to school."

"Yeah, and I can easily ask Lydia for rides. It's me that you should be missing," Joan quipped, her smile widening. The two laughed, waving goodbye before walking their separate ways to their first periods. But even throughout her father's class about the exploration of Europe, Joan still felt the weird, tingly feeling coursing through her veins.

That feeling stayed with her all throughout the day, especially when the pack met between two buses during their lunch period. Joan stood between Stiles and Malia, the topic of Liam staying that the boathouse being their main focus.

"I'm not sharing my basement," Malia insisted stubbornly, her arms cross over her chest.

Lydia sighed, rolling her eyes at the were-coyote, "Actually, it's my basement. And my mom noticed how you tore it up last time."

"Alright, she's still learning," Stiles quickly defends. Joan nods, "It's better than her going on a rampage or something!"

"But, we're going to use the boathouse for Liam," Scott inputs. "It's got support beams. We can chain him to one of them."

"But how do we get him out to the lake house if he doesn't trust us?" Kira asks, the question being on everyone's mind. How were they going to get Liam to the boathouse? Obviously he didn't trust Stiles, Scott, or Joan, so who was going to get him to come...

"I say if it keeps him from murdering someone we chloroform the little bastard and throw him in the lake," Stiles explained, his tone completely serious.

"Stiles!" Joan says with anger and disapproval.

"I'm in," Malia quickly adds, unaware of how terrible his plan is.

"Malia!" Joan says once again, her tone the same. She quickly slaps Stiles' shoulder in disapproval while shaking her head. "What's that for?!" Stiles asks, rubbing his shoulder.

"You're being a bad influence! We're not killing or kidnapping Liam. He's just scared. Wouldn't you be if you were bitten by a student and then were told that you were a werewolf?" Stiles grumbled under his breath on how he understood, but that it was a good idea to kidnap him once again, leading Joan to hit him once again.

"Then let's be smarter," Lydia answers, a knowing smirk gracing her lips. "We tell him there's a party and invite him."

Stiles arches an eyebrow at Lydia, his hand still rubbing his shoulder where Joan hit him, "So, you're going to ask out a freshman?"

Lydia shakes her head, her smirk never leaving, "No, I'm done with teenage boys. But, if we're playing a trick on someone, we'll have to use the trickster." Everyone looked over at Kira expectantly causing her to gape at her group of friends.

"Who? Me? No way. Not me."

"Yes, you. You know what they call a female fox?" Lydia asks, hoping to make Kira feel more confident.

"A vixen," Joan answers, grinning at Kira. "You got this, Kira. Be the vixen." Kira looked around at the group before stopping at Scott. The true alpha smiling reassuringly at Kira, knowing deep down that she could do it.

The group began to disperse, Scott and Stiles heading one way while the girls headed the other. The bell was about to ring and that transition time afterwards would be the perfect time for Kira to ask Liam to their 'party'.

The longer time seemed to go on the more Joan seemed to become nervous. It's not like she didn't believe Kira could handle Liam, she was a badass kitsune, but Joan couldn't help the small amount of fear that filled her chest. Liam was a newly found werewolf after all with major anger issues, lord knows what he could possibly do on his first full moon.

Her eyes swept over the living room she and the pack found themselves in as they waited. On the coffee table laid Malia's chains along side a couple magazines from a couple years back. She knew that at some point soon Stiles and herself would need to take Malia down to the basement. She was impressed by how long Malia had gone without beginning to shift. It made Joan incredibly proud of Malia, almost like a mother would towards her daughter.

Joan let out a relived breath when the sound of a car parking met her ears. "Okay, remember, let's not scare him too bad. He's gonna be pissed as hell, so don't say something stupid, Stilinski," Joan says, looking at Stiles specifically.

"What? Why do you need to tell me this?!" Stiles ask, waving his hands around in confusion.

Joan arches an eyebrow at the spastic boy, "You've suggested killing him and cutting him up into little pieces twice so far. Why wouldn't I make sure you don't do it again?" Stiles opened his mouth about to object when the front door opens.

Liam hesitantly enters, his eyes widening in a mix of anger and surprise when he saw the five people he didn't want to see, "What the hell is this?"

"Think of it like an intervention," Stiles suggests. "You have a problem, Liam."

"And we're the only ones that can help," Scott provides, motioning towards the pack. Liam raised an eyebrow at the group, unsure what problem he had as well as how they were going to 'help' him. Scott began to explain what each person – besides Stiles and Joan – were and what the supernatural was. Joan nodded along, add things here and there until they had finished up their lecture, hoping that Liam understood most of it.

Liam began to list off each person's supernatural being, before stopping at Joan and Stiles unsure what they exactly were. "What are you?" he asked, pointed at Stiles.

"Uh, for a little while, I was possessed by an evil spirit. It was very evil," Stiles quickly answered, scratching his neck awkwardly.

          "What are you now?"

"Better...?" Stiles answered, sound more like a question than a defiantly answer.

"And you?" Liam asks, finally looking at Joan.

"I'm a human. I make sure that no one does anything stupid and help out when I can," Joan provided, a proud grin forming upon her lips.

Liam nodded hesitantly, looking at the group as a whole, not believing a single thing coming from the juniors mouths. His eyes fell upon the bag of chains, his eyes widening, "Are those for me?"

Malia shook her head, her eyes turning from hazel to a bright blue hue, "No, they're for me."

Liam gasped, taking a step back from the group in fear, "How did you do that?"

"You'll learn," Scott replies, taking a step towards Liam. "But first, you need to get through the full moon."

The freshman shakes his head, looking out the window to see the already shown full moon, "The moon's already out."

"And you're starting to feel something, aren't you?" Scott asks, taking another step forward. A growl leaves Liam's lips as his anger begins to rise.

"I feel like I'm surrounded b a bunch of psychotic nut-jobs. You guys are out of your freaking minds. I don't know how you did that eye thing and I don't care!" Liam screams, his anger getting the best of him as he begins to head towards the front door. "I'm walking out the door right now! If any of you try to stop me, I swear to God, I'm gonna–" It's as if something switched in him, causing him to scream in pain and hold his head. Liam pants in pain, crouching down onto the floor.

"Liam? What's wrong?" Joan asks, concern lacing her voice.

"You don't hear that?" Liam asks, looking up at the group in confusion and pain.

The pack look out the window, seeing the headlights of several cars approaching the lake house. Lydia sighs in frustration, running her fingers through her hair, "Did you tell someone about this?"

"My friend Mason," Liam provides, his head and heart pounding. "You said it was a party."

"Who did Mason invite?" Stiles asks, taking a step forward towards the new beta.

Kira quickly looks out the window, her eyes widening to the size of saucers. "Everyone," she simply explains after looking out the window. Liam begins to grunt in pain once again, his claws beginning to scratch the hard wood floors of the lake house.

"The floors! Get him off the floors!" Lydia shrieks, about to pick up Liam when he growls at her with bared fangs and glowing eyes.

Scott and Kira quickly grab both of Liam's arms and haul him up to his feet, "We need to get him to the boathouse. Now!" The duo quickly begin to more Liam before the group of teenagers outside see him.

The sound of rowdy teenagers becomes closer and closer causing the remaining members' of the McCall's pack hearts to pound. "Stiles... Joan..." Malia groans, now beginning to feel the affect of the moon.

"Yeah?" Stiles asks, turning towards the were-coyote. Their eyes widen when Malia roars at them, her eyes bright blue and her claws out. "We need to go to the basement. Like, right now!" Joan quickly says, grabbing the bag of chains while Stiles gets a hold of Malia.

"What am I supposed to do with the hordes gathering outside the door?" Lydia asks before the trio completely leave the room.

They all look at Lydia for a moment, surprised she hadn't thought of a plan yet. "Lydia, who throws the best parties in Beacon Hills?" Stiles asks, exasperation and anxiety lacing his words.

Lydia gapes at Stiles, surprised he had even asked that question, "What? Me, obviously."

Stiles nods, hoping she had finally understood his intention of asking, "Okay, then throw a party." The Martin girl nods, watching the trio run towards the basement before heading towards the front door to let in the group of party-hungry teenagers.

"Okay, Malia. It's gonna be okay, we're almost there," Joan cooed, hoping to keep her calm until they got her chained up. Normally she and Stiles would have Malia tied up much sooner so they wouldn't have to deal with this, but thanks to Liam and the partiers up stairs, they were behind.

Joan just hoped that it wouldn't lead to herself, Stiles, or anyone upstairs getting hurt. The last thing the pack needed was a blood thirsty were-coyote on a rampage. They also didn't need a newly turned werewolf on the loose, but you can't control everything.
