Joan of Arc (reader) X France:: Memories of you
Parts 5
They had not just burned her once but twice they didn’t even leave him her ashes. The pain on his face was so clear the guard laughed, but he could do nothing about it. He was broken he had nothing left to fight for. Any fight he had in him left at that moment was replaced with anguish. The tears came swiftly and he cried for her until he had no tears left to cry. Till the crowds were gone and even the guards had left him alone chained to that post rain just beginning to fall he cried.
Only one remained in the square a young man with bushy eyebrows and emerald green eyes. Watching his older brother cry out in pain and agony with tears in his eyes. He had had no idea they would do this when he had taken (your name) prisoner. The guilt he felt was like a rock in his belly as he made his way over to Francis. Unbinding his hands Arthur tried to help the broken man to his feet but was met with swift slap to the face.
“Don’t you dare touch me!” exclaimed Francis pushing the young Brit away.
“Francis! Please you must believe me I had no idea this would happen!” exclaimed Arthur trying to calm the Frenchman down but to no avail.
“No idea? No idea?!” demanded Francis. “What did you think would happen then Angleterre?!
“Well I” started Arthur.
“Save it! I will not stand for your lies! You just couldn’t let me be happy! You’ve always tried to out do me in everything! You’ve always torn me down and struck me when I needed a shoulder to cry on! And every time I have forgiven you! But this I can not and never will forgive! You will pay for this! I swear it! If it’s the last thing I do I will make you pay!” exclaimed Francis stumbling away using the sides of the buildings along the street to brace himself against. Leaving Arthur behind holding his cheek watching as his brother the one he looked up to the most walked away.
