Part One - 5th Year

Being a hufflepuff has always been easy for me.

We're noted for being loyal, kind, trustworthy, hard-working, open-minded, and compassionate—to name a few.

I love being a hufflepuff; we're one house that can get along with all of the other houses.

Unfortunately, though, many of those in the other houses—particularly those in Slytherin—think we're merely daft, silly nobodies. We're never seemingly part of the drama or excitement like many of the Gryiffindors, Slytherins or, even Ravenclaws typically take part in. Although we may seem like we're in the shadows, I've never felt that. I embrace the fact that we aren't as "well known" or "talked about." I like sitting on the sideline, watching. Bad things don't typically happen with us Hufflepuffs ... except for what happened last year.

One of the more well known Hufflepuffs, Cedric Diggory, who happened to be a good friend of mine, was murdered last year. Well, that's according to Harry Potter, who witnessed it. I, of course, believe him, but some students and most of the Ministry don't. In fact, the Ministry states it was a "tragic accident."

I miss him, but I know he will always be in our hearts. His spirit still lives on within the entirety of every person who has had the pleasure in knowing him. Even me.

Things will be different without Cedric, that's for sure, but I can't help but to think something big will happen this year.

Bigger than anything I can imagine.

And it's all because the school's biggest bully shoved me on the train.
