Chapter 7

Song: This is How We Do It by Montell Jordan and Wino; No Hands by Waka Flocka Flame, Roscoe Dash & Wale; Bad Reputation by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts; Safe and Sound by Capital Cities

"Your essays are graded," Snape says monotonously as he flicks his wrist with his wand, sending our essays flying to us.

Upon getting mine, I notice I have received a ''Poor' on one of the essays along with an "Acceptable" on the other. I bite my lip and quickly flip the pages down since Susie got "Exceeded Expectations" on both of hers. I'm so ashamed of my grades.

I know that if I continue to keep doing this poorly, I'll end up barely passing Potions. I need to get an "Outstanding" on my O.W.L this year in order to be in the advance Potions course next year if I want to become an auror.

And I will become an auror.

Once everyone receives their essays, Snape dismisses us. I tell Susie I'll meet her in class before hesitantly approaching Snape's desk. He's reading an older potions book that looks incredibly dated.

"What is it, Miss Tonks?" He doesn't look up, but rather, he continues to read before pouring a vial into the small cauldron next to him. The cauldron bubbles, and a green smoke rises from it.

I take a deep breath. For some reason, I always feel incredibly nervous around Snape.

"I notice I'm struggling with the course materials. I'd like to improve my grade now before it gets worse. Do you happen to have any extra assignments I could do to help?" I can't hide the shakiness in my voice or in my hands. I nearly drop my books from how nervous I am.

He glances up at me before looking back down at his book.

"I don't give out extra assignments." I drop my head in disappointment. "But, since you actually seem to care about this class, I can see if one of my best students could tutor you." At this, I smile brightly, nodding enthusiastically.

"Oh yes! That would be wonderful, Professor! Thank you so much!"

He looks up, giving me a flat look. "Very well. Now get out of my classroom."

I nod before rushing out and into the hallway. Even though I'd rather just do extra assignments, I'm fine with having a tutor. As long as I get an "Outstanding" on my O.W.L in this course, I'll be happy.

Now, he said it will be one of his best students...that has to be Hermione...right? Yes, if I remember correctly, she is one of the highest scoring witches in Potions.

I smile at the thought of getting to spend more time with her. Even though we're the same age, I look up to her. She's incredibly smart as well as brave, determined, and kind—in her own way of course.

I walk into my next class with a new hopeful attitude.

...

"I swear that class dragged on forever!" Susie says while yawning. We're walking back to our common room to finish our pages for Charms before the party tonight.

"It did! I was nodding off the whole time," I say, earning a slight giggle from Susie. Her eyes go wide as she nudges her head to my right. I turn my head seeing Draco walking towards us. I look around to see if perhaps we've mistaken his pointed gaze for someone else, but no one else is present.

"What do you think he wants?" Susie whispers to me, her gaze fixated on Draco. He doesn't look mad or upset, so I'm really confused.

"I have no clue. He hasn't really talked to me since last week," I reply back honestly. "I'll catch up with you in the common room. Tell Ernie and Hannah I just have some business to take care of if they ask." I look at her as she nods and scurries away.

Draco finally nears me, and my heart is beating a million miles a minute. I'm more nervous at the fact that I don't know why he's wanting to talk to me. I'd rather have him angry because at least I know how he's feeling.

"Well, well, well...if it isn't the girl who needs a tutor for Potions." He crosses his arms as he arrogantly smirks.

"H-how do you even know about that?"

"Snape personally asked his best student to be your tutor as he said that you're doing poorly in Potions," he states, still giving me that cocky smirk that I'd love to just slap off his dreadfully handsome face.

"I thought Hermione was his best student." At this he scowls, rolling his gorgeous gray eyes.

"Are you daft? I'm his best student! Granger is nothing but a filthy—"

"—No. I'd rather fail than have you tutor me," I cut him off before he can say the "m-word." He's notorious for calling Hermione, and any other Muggle-born, it. It's so derogatory and insulting that I can't even stand to hear it or even say it in my head.

"Fine. Have it your way then," he remarks before starting to walk away.

I really can't afford to fail this class, especially in my fifth year when the O.W.L.S this year determine my career path. Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath before rushing towards his retreating form.

"Draco!" He stops walking and turns around slowly. His eyebrows are raised as I approach him. "I really need the help. Even though I don't want you to be my tutor, I guess it's my only option."

"It's not like I particularly want to tutor you either. Snape practically begged me to do it."

I know for a fact Snape would never beg anyone, let alone a student of his, to do something. He must secretly want to tutor me.

Probably to show off how smart he is and make you look like a fool, I say to myself. I mean, what other reason would there be?

"Well, thank you—" he scrunches his eyebrows before I continue, "—for agreeing to tutor me. You didn't have to, but you did."

His mouth quirks up slightly where it looks like he's about to smirk but it only lasts a second. "I'm not doing it for you, so don't let the idea slip into your thick skull."

"Of course. I didn't think otherwise, don't worry." I clutch my books tighter to my chest as I stare up at him. There's a strange tension between us. Neither of us have spoken much to the other since the whole rumour thing last week.

To break the awkward silence, I say, "are you okay with meeting a couple times a week at the library?"

"I should be able to find some time in my busy schedule." The sass is so strong as he speaks.

"Great," I say, partially ignoring his statement. "I'll see you on Monday I guess. Bye, Draco."

He doesn't say anything as I rush down the halls to the common room, swiftly doing the passcode before stepping into the hidden passage towards the brightly lit common room.

I absolutely love our common room. From the hints of gold and yellow with brown to tan stone walls, our common room is incredibly inviting to anyone and everyone. Some students in the other houses, specifically Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, say how they could study and sleep here in absolute peace and happiness. It's a safe spot for many, that's for sure.

"Lily!" Susie calls for me, waving me over to one of the mustard colored sofas. Her feet are tucked under her as she holds her Charms textbook on her lap. I sit beside her, pulling open my textbook as well. "How did it go?"

I sigh, shaking my head. "He'll be tutoring me in Potions."

Her expression turns to one of concern. "Oh! Are you not doing well in Potions? I could've helped." Although, working with Susie would be a lot more fun than with Draco, my pride won't allow me to. I feel embarrassed already that she knows I need a tutor. Stupid, I know.

"Snape suggested Draco apparently. Otherwise I would have asked you." I give her a frown, but she gives me an all-knowing look in return.

"Alright. If it doesn't end up going well, I can help!" Susie says sweetly. She's honestly so kind that I know she actually means it.

"Thank you, Susie. Now, let's get through these couple chapters," I say with a soft smile.

After a few minutes of peaceful quietness besides the sound of parchment shifting from us turning the pages and writing, Hannah comes in yelling with a couple brown paper bags, "Put those books down ladies! It's time to party!!" The other Hufflepuffs in the room look up from their books as well as she struts over, plopping down on a chair opposite of us.

She's giving us a stealthy smile as she pulls out not one or two, but three bottles of Firewhisky. Susie and I audibly gasp before she slips them back into the brown bags putting a finger up to her lips with an intense look. "Shh! I don't need everyone knowing!"

Ernie walks over at the same time as she says this. "That's a first." This earns a chuckle from me and an overly exaggerated giggle from Susie. Hannah gives him a playful glare before turning her attention back towards us.

"How did you manage to get those here?" I ask.

"A girl never tells her secrets!" She responds with a wink before looking at us with a somewhat serious expression.

She then claps her hands. "Chop chop ladies! I want this place party ready in thirty minutes!"

"Pretty sure Ernie and I are the party planners, Hannah," I say half-jokingly to which she rolls her eyes playfully.

"I know....I'm just the hype-woman. Let's go!" She claps at us again which gets Susie and I off the couch. She snatches our books and tosses them on a nearby table. "I'll go grab the boombox from the common room closet while you guys set up the lights and Ernie--" she looks at him, "—can you muffliato the room so nobody on the outside can hear the noise? Thanks!"

He pulls out his wand and makes his way over to the center of the room, while Susie and I grab the lights from the common room closet and begin setting them up.

...

**A/N: Lily's attire**

Hannah is bumping The Weird Sisters, a popular wizarding world band amongst us teens, as she takes a swig of some Firewhisky. She's perched up on the table, yelling out orders to all of us. The common room is nearly finished decorated, thanks to the help of some third and fourth year Hufflepuffs who set up the food and drinks table.

I was able to run up to my room for a few minutes and clean myself up. Putting a golden yellow, silk dress on that I had gotten last summer with Nymphi, and some heels to match, I make my way back down to the common room and finish helping place streamers over the fireplace mantle and doorways.

After the last bit of decor is set up, Hannah turns the music up even louder and begins singing along. We're just waiting for Ernie to check to make sure his sound-blocking spell worked.

The entrance opens up, and Ernie walks in giving us a thumbs-up. We all cheer excitedly as he turns off the lights, leaving only the ones Susie and I strung up on. Hannah turns down the music as she gets up and takes another swig of Firewhiskey, standing up on one of the tables.

She then starts up one of our house chants, "Yellow and black, the badgers are back! And we're here to take the cup! Yellow and black, whatever we lack we'll make up with hugs!"

Some of the younger years join her as well as some of the older years, including Susie and I, but most of the other older Hufflepuffs just laugh along.

"Why is she yelling that chant?" Justin asks us, walking up beside Susie and I. We just shrug, laughing as Hannah gets off the table with a bright smile.

Just then Seamus, Neville and Dean from Gryffindor come through the entrance to which Hannah squeals with delight before running over towards them. She gives Neville a big hug, causing his cheeks to turn a bright red.

I assume she invited them as we don't usually have students from other houses join our parties for fun. The last time someone from another house came to one of our parties was when Cedric invited Cho Chang. They ended up leaving within five minutes to most likely snog in private.

Someone turns the music back up as we all continue to sing and dance along. Hannah offers us Firewhiskey several times to which Susie and I decline each time. Though, Justin seems to have no problem saying yes as he takes swig after swig from the bottle.

As I'm dancing with Hannah, Neville, Seamus, Dean and a bunch of others, a second year, by the name of Terry, comes in running towards us with wide eyes and begins to ramble on about someone lurking in the hall next to the common room.

"Woah, slow down there. Who's out in the hall?" I ask the scared second year. He keeps bringing his gaze over to the common room entrance as if someone is about to burst through and bust our party.

Terry finally looks up at me as he says, "Draco Malfoy."

I huff out with annoyance as I try to find Ernie amongst the growing crowd. I spot Ernie in one of the corners with Susie, practically on the verge of wanting to snog the lipstick right off her mouth. I walk over and tap his shoulder.

Sharply, he turns his head, giving me a flat look. "What?"

"Draco is out in the hall."

"So?"

"Can you do something about it? I really don't want to talk to him."

"I don't like confrontation, remember?" He says, raising his eyebrows, reminding me of what he had told me years ago.

I roll my eyes and say, "are you kidding me?" His response is only a shrug of his shoulders before continuing his intimate conversation with my best friend. I grimace slightly at the sight before making my way towards the common room exit.

Once I reach it, I slip out into the corridor quietly. Looking around the dark halls, I'm met with nothing. I don't see the "Prince of Slytherin" anywhere... and thank Merlin for that.

Just as I'm going back inside, someone grabs onto my shoulders causing me to jump, and I let out a gasp as I do so.

**A/N: Draco's attire **

I place a hand on my chest, turning around to see that it's only Draco.

"What the hell! You nearly gave me a heart attack!" He snickers at my words, his eyes creasing a bit at the corners, before speaking.

"You know, I could give you a detention for throwing a party, Tonks." With that he crosses his arms and smirks. To avoid his gaze for a moment, I bring my eyes down to his attire.

He's wearing a black button up top along with dark slacks to match. Even though it seems to represent something darker, I can't help but to think he looks undeniably handsome in all black.

"Is that why you're here or are you actually wanting to see how fun Hufflepuff parties are?" I say raising my eyebrows at him. I cross my arms, mirroring his stance.

He acts like he has all this authority over me, when we are both on the same level; both of us are Prefects.

His eyes scan down my body, obviously noticing that I'm wearing something that's not my school uniform and robes. My dress shows off more of my figure and legs, and I feel myself getting a bit self-conscious at his roaming eyes.

"I don't need proof to know it's a dull party."

I ignore his rude statement and walk over towards the entrance, doing the passcode to get into the common room again. I feel his eyes watching my every movement, and I strangely am enjoying it.

Once the entrance opens, I turn back towards him. With his teeth gnawing at his bottom lip, his eyes still linger on my legs—pervert—before dragging them back up to my face

"That was the stupidest passcode I've ever seen."

"Are you coming in or not?" I ask him, ignoring his snarky comment and the way I'm feeling as he unashamedly keeps checking me out.

I'm not sure why I'm inviting him...it's not like he'll want to come in anyway.

"Fine. I'll probably leave within five minutes because it'll be dreadfully boring." I'm quite shocked at his response, but I hide my surprise by rolling my eyes.

We enter through the passageway, making our way up the stairs and into the common room. The music is incredibly loud at this point. There's people dancing all around and up on the furniture. Corners of the room are taken by couples who are snogging and doing Merlin knows what.

I spot Hannah by the boombox, who's moving her body along to the music, and I walk over towards her. I don't bother looking behind me to see if Draco is following because the stares I'm receiving as I weave through the crowd tell me that he is.

Hannah's eyes go huge as I approach her. She's holding one of the bottles of Firewhiskey as she throws her arms up in the air, splashing a couple fourth years with the liquid.

"Lily!! Oh my Merlin!!!" She's practically screaming at this point, and I wince slightly.

I love her, don't get me wrong, but when she gets a little "confidence booster" in her, she becomes quite loud and obnoxious.

"Well hello there, Malfoy! What brings you here?" she's smirking as he stands right next to me.

"Is that Firewhiskey?" Draco completely ignores her question as he nudges his head towards the bottle in her hand. She nods excitedly.

"You bet it is! Here!" she holds out the bottle towards him, "—take a swig! I have two more bottles anyway!" She is most definitely drunk as her eyes are slightly bloodshot, and she seems to sway a bit.

Draco looks at the bottle in her outstretched hand for a moment before grabbing it and taking a long swig. After he pulls the bottle from his lips, he wipes his mouth with the back of his free hand. He holds the bottle out towards me, his eyes egging me on to take a drink too.

I shake my head 'no.' "I don't care to drink."

"I figured as much. You're a lame Hufflepuff, Tonks." I narrow my eyes at his smirking face before snagging the bottle from his grasp and taking three big gulps from it. It burns my throat as it goes down, but it has a surprisingly good taste. This earns a squeal in delight from Hannah and a surprised look from Draco.

"I don't need alcohol to have fun, but I guess a little won't hurt," I say while licking the remaining liquid off my lips.

His eyes dart to my mouth briefly as I do this and an unreadable expression appears on his face before he turns his head away, looking towards the groups of students dancing.

"Hannah did you grab my discs... you know—" I bend down, so I'm closer to her ear, "—the Muggle music?"

She nods, grabbing my case with all my Muggle music off the table with the boombox and handing it to me. I'm flipping through the discs as Draco leans over my shoulder to see.

"You listen to Muggle music?" Draco asks, his face, no doubt, scrunching up in disgust.

"Yeah. It's actually pretty good. My sister got me to like it," I say before grabbing the newest disc, the one labeled "This Is How We Do It," and sliding it into the boombox. The room is quiet for a moment as the song starts up. "This one, I've heard is one of the most popular songs in the Muggle world at the moment!"

He looks at me curiously before I grab Hannah's hand and bring her out into the middle of the room. We begin to dance as I sing along to the lyrics.

At first everyone is a little hesitant to dance along to the unfamiliar music, but after a few seconds everyone is back to dancing.

I twirl around and move my body along to the beat, feeling Draco's stare on me as he holds onto a cup of pumpkin juice from the food and drink table. I'm thoroughly enjoying myself as Hannah and I swing our hips and wave our hands in the air.

Just as I'm letting myself relax and fully enjoy the moment, I hear Justin yell, "Stop staring at my girl, Malfoy!"

Snapping my gaze to where I heard him, I look over towards Draco. He glances over to his side where Justin is standing—more like stewing in anger. Justin seems to be holding one of Hannah's bottles of Firewhiskey as he narrows his gaze at Draco.

"Oh, shove off Finch," is all I hear Draco say. Draco then looks back towards us in the crowd, taking a sip from his cup. His eyes lock onto mine for a moment before I look away and continue dancing along to the music.

"You think I'm going to listen to you because I'm scared?" He throws back a bit of Firewhiskey before glaring back at Draco. "Well I'm not scared-hiccup-of you!"

Draco sharply turns his head to look at Justin. Menacingly, he sneers, "weren't you the one who got petrified by a measly snake our second year, Finch?"

By measly snake... does he mean the Basilisk?!

Hannah tugs at my arm, making me look at her instead. She spins me around, and then leans down to say, "I'm going to go dance with Nevy... are you alright with that?" She has a drunken smile on her face as she speaks.

"Of course, Hannah. Go on." There's no denying the fact that Hannah fancies Neville...a lot.

I watch as she sashays over to him on the other side of the room, dancing around him. Neville looks like he's attempting to dance, but from what the bright blush on his cheeks tells me is that he's not very good.

As I'm about to dance with some younger years in a little dance circle, I hear Justin yell, "at least I'm not an over dramatic wuss like you!!"

Is he trying to start a fight? He couldn't fight with someone who isn't Draco?

With that, I see Draco stalk over towards him, so he's looming over his figure. "Did you just call me a wuss?" His voice is so low and predatory as he sneers ,and I find myself rushing over to where they're both standing. The last thing I need is a fight at our party—especially one where Draco is involved in.

"Yeah, I did...wuss." Justin narrows his eyes back at him as he spits out at him. Draco brings his arm back, his fist clenched, but I make it there in time to push them apart before he can punch him and cause a bigger scene.

"Enough! We don't need a whole brawl at this party!" I yell at both of them.

Justin takes another swig as he glares at Draco, still ignoring me. Draco briefly glares back at him before looking at me with a slightly milder expression.

"I won't back down until he-he—gets the hell out!" Justin says, slurring his words. His eyes are glazed over. Reeking like he's the Firewhiskey bottle himself.

"I was going to leave anyway. This bloody party sucks!" He snaps out before angrily setting his cup down onto the nearby table, causing the remnants within the cup to splash out, and storming out. I find myself running after him as fast as my heels allow me to.

His long legs already have carried him to the hallway as I rush behind him. "Draco! Wait!"

He stops, turning around to face me. He looks confused as to why I'm following after him. For some reason, I'm feeling warmer than I did inside the packed common room.

"I'm sorry...for what happened back there. Justin, obviously, isn't in his right mind." I'm rubbing my arm as I speak, darting my eyes around the dimly lit corridor. For some reason, I'm having a hard time looking him in the eye.

"Well, just keep your little boyfriend under control," Draco snaps out at me, before turning right back around. Did he seriously assume Justin is my boyfriend?

I've already been down that path, and with what happened last week in the common room, I'll never be going back down it again.

I let out a scoff before charging after him. Clenching my fists angrily as I walk up more behind him, I say, "he is not my boyfriend." He only shakes his head with a dry laugh, as if he doesn't believe me.

Irritated, I grab onto his tense arm and pull him so he faces me. A flash of anger crosses his face before it's replaced with annoyance.

"Look at me when I'm talking to you!" I snap in a demanding tone. This makes him raise his eyebrows before narrowing his eyes into deathly slits.

"Don't ever talk to me like that!" he yells out, and, by the looks of it, he's trying to contain his anger by breathing deeper and slower. His eyes are filled with passionate fire, and I feel my cheeks and whole body getting hot from his intense stare.

Just as I'm about to say something back at him, the voice of Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts, rings out through the dark halls.

"Who's out there?!"

Draco hastily pushes us up against the wall, his arm pressed firmly on my front side as his eyes dart around for the Squib.

Filch is notorious for catching kids out in the corridors out past curfew. He also isn't the biggest fan of children, so it's almost as if he stalks through the halls at night to get them in trouble. I've been nothing but nice to him these past five years, so I don't feel as scared as Draco is feeling right now.

"Draco I-"

"Shut up, Tonks! We'll get caught!" Draco whisper-yells at me, placing his other hand on my mouth. His cool palm feels good against my warm skin.

I take his hand off my mouth after a few seconds and say, "I'm not afraid to get caught." I push out of his grasp as Filch nears our hall with his lantern held up above his head. He has a slimy grim look on his face as he swings the lantern from side to side.

I carefully walk over towards him, causing him to jump a bit. "What are you two doing out this late?!" His eyes glance from me to Draco, I assume, standing behind me. I give him my most dazzling smile as he brings his eyes back to mine.

"Hi, Mr. Filch. I was trying to find a first year who was missing," I give him a sad frown before continuing, "Draco was helping me find him. Since we're both prefects it is our job to keep an eye on the younger years and trouble makers." He gives me a wary look before, what I think is a smile, forms on his features.

"Hmm alright. Since you seem to be tellin' the truth, I'll let it go this one time," he then looks at Draco behind me, "and Malfoy...you're lucky you were with Miss Tonks here."

I glance behind me with a giggle before turning my gaze back on the greasy-haired caretaker. "Thank you so much, Mr. Filch. Have a good night!" I smile warmly at him.

He nods his head before saying, "Goodnight Miss Tonks. Malfoy." He turns back around with his lantern. Draco waits before Filch turns down another corridor before speaking.

"Nobody is on Filch's good side. I didn't even think he had one." I turn to look at Draco, but I find myself turning a little too quick, and with my heels on, I trip, falling onto Draco.

He's awkwardly holding me out in his arms as I say looking more at his chest, "I guess it pays being nice, hmm."

I finally look up at him, feeling a rush of euphoric confidence as I say, "you smell really good. Like the most expensive cologne with a hint of apples and mahogany wood." My mind is becoming clouded as I keep looking up at him.

He pushes me off of him gently so I'm standing on my own. "Are you drunk, Tonks?"

I lean in more towards him as a giggle escapes my lips. "Are you, Draco?" He rolls his eyes at my question.

I feel myself swaying a bit, as he asks, "are you able to walk back to your dormitory on your own?" He cares...but, as if he knows what I'm thinking, he adds, "—not that I care."

I look around, trying to remember where I need to head first. "I think I head down there," I say pointing down towards one end of the long corridor. For some reason my memory is fuzzy.

"Are you sure? Because I think you would be heading towards the Ravenclaw dormitories if you went down there."

He crosses his arms while giving me an all-knowing smirk. I step closer to him, drinking in his features as the moonlight streams through the windows and hits his face.

He looks like a dark angel in this lighting, and I can't help myself as my hand reaches up and strokes his cheek.

He grabs my hand, tilting his head slightly into my touch for a bit. His eyes seem to darken before bringing my hand back down; disappointment fills me up at his action.

"Come on. I guess I'll have to bring you back." His voice is a bit gruff as he speaks this time. He's also still holding onto my hand with a firm grip as he swiftly leads me down the halls.

"Your grip is quite tight." He doesn't respond as he keeps pulling me along, so I take the opportunity to continue. "I knew you were a dominant one, Draco." My tone may be teasing, but, even as a joke, it's something I would never say sober.

This causes him to stop abruptly, turning his head so he's looking at me. His eyes are wide and mouth is agape. He shakes his head slightly before saying, "shut up!" He turns around again and continues dragging me down the hallways before stopping in front of my common room entrance.

I watch as he does the entrance passcode with no hesitation or flaws. He looks disgusted as the entrance opens up. "I swear that better be the only time I ever have to do that stupid passcode."

"I can't believe you memorized it so fast...then again, you are super duper smart...right, Draco." The words seem to just pour out of my mouth like water from a fountain; I can't stop myself as every thought seems to spew out.

I see him physically shiver in disgust as he pulls me through the entrance and passageway up the stairs into the common room. The party is still going on, but it's mellowed out a lot more since we've left.

Draco seems to be heading towards a red-headed girl—perhaps it's Susie, my bestest friend in the whole world—as he beckons for her. She doesn't seem to hear him as she drags another blonde-haired girl towards the girl's bathrooms. The girl looks like Hannah, but I can't tell since my vision is quite hazy; it's as if things are moving too fast for me to fully process what's going on.

I watch as his eyes dart around until he spots a taller brown-haired boy.

"You there! Macmillan!" He then stops as the boy is helping another boy towards the dormitories, dragging his body down the tunnel. "Bloody hell, your friends are useless."

"At least I have friends...unlike you, Draco."

His grip on my wrist tightens a bit. "I have friends."

"Then you and I have a different defying—no—definition of friends."

The room seems to be spinning as Draco pulls me up a staircase; I stumble up a few steps, but he continues on as if it didn't happen. The stairs look familiar, but my vision is quite out of sorts that I can't be too sure.

I watch as Draco opens up one of the three doors to-

"—my room!" I squeal in delight as he tugs me through the doorway and pushes me, a little too aggressively, onto the bed. "Oh, don't you think we're moving a little too fast?" I'm giving him a cheeky smile as I say this.

He rolls his gorgeous gray eyes in response.

"I'm going to go get your friend to help you out." He begins to walk out, but I stop him by calling his name. "What is it now, Tonks?"

I feel really sad now for some reason.

"Did you like the party tonight?"

He gives me a questioning look, utterly confused at my sudden mood change, before saying, "well, I didn't hate it."

I nod before asking him another question, placing my head on my hand as I look up at him. "Do—do you like my dress?" I feel my cheeks blush a bit after asking that.

He huffs out at this. I see him gnaw on his bottom lip for a moment before saying, "If I say 'yes' will you stop asking me stupid questions?"

I shrug before asking him another one, much to his dismay. "Why do you bully people? What's the point in hurting others?"

He seems taken aback at my question and covers it by letting out a cough. Looking me dead in the eyes he says, "it's something you'll never understand because you don't have to."

What a peculiar answer, I think to myself.

I only furrow my eyebrows at that before feeling a wave of sleepiness surge over my body. "I think I'm done asking questions now. Goodnight, Draco. Thank you," I say in between yawns. I'm already laying down on my pillow, my eyes feeling incredibly heavy.

Just before I fully succumb to sleep, I hear him say, "Sleep well, Tonks." Then the click of my door resounds in the room, and I go to sleep within seconds.
