3rd Person POV
It was a Sunday evening and the Ocean emperor and his daughter we're preparing for the royal ball which was being hosted by the Mezalean King and Queen, Queen Rosemary and King Jeremy the Third.

"Are you ready to leave?" John, Lizzie's father, asked.
"Yes father," 14 year old Lizzie replied, not really wanting to go. She would have to stand around as her father talked with the other rulers. The only reason she agreed to attend is so she could see her brother and mom, Jimmy and Miranda.

You see, Miranda and John got married but had to live in their own empires as they are the rulers of The Ocean Empire and Mezalea. Their children had to live separately as they were their heirs to different empires. The only time they got to see each other we times like this but they were still really close.

The royals were escorted down towards where the boats were and they set off towards Mezelea. It was a pretty short ride as Mezalea was one of the closest empires.

As soon as the got on land the young axolotl hybrid got tackled into a hug by her younger twin.
"James I told you to wait for them to get off the docks!" Miranda scolded her son. He mumbled an apology and let his sister stand up.
"Nice to see you too," Lizzie said to Jimmy while ruffling his hair.
"We should get going," John said, smiling at his kids. The reunited family made there way up to the Matral Palace.

Joel POV
I stood with my parents and greeted the other rulers as they entered the Matral Palace ball room. I saw quite a few kids from different empires, most of them looking around my age but one looked at lot older and one looked very young.

"Go introduce yourself to the other heirs. They look around your age," My parents told me as they went to go talk to the other emperors and empresses.

I stood around for a while and watched as the adults talked about politics and other things I would rather not discuss.

"Hello! You're from here, right?" I heard someone ask. I turned around to see an axolotl hybrid with pink hair.
"Yes I am. My name is Joel of Mezalea," I said as I bowed.
"Elizabeth of the Ocean Empire but you can call me Lizzie," she said as she curtsied.
"I assume you don't know anyone else here."
"I only know my brother, James of the Swampeth Empire or Jimmy, whatever you want to call him," she pointed to a blonde axolotl hybrid who was talking with the Mythland heir.

We continued to talk for an hour or so and it turned out we had a lot in common. We both liked animals a lot and many other things. After a while she excused herself to go make sure her brother was not causing trouble. But for the rest of the evening, I couldn't help thinking about her.

3rd Person POV
"And that my children, is how me and your father met!" Lizzie said. She was sitting on a couch in the Matral Palace next to her husband and two children.

"That's so cool!" one of them said. It was a young boy, around the age of five, with pink hair looking like his mothers.
"Can you tell us more stories?" the other one asked. She was probably six and had long brown hair and axolotl gills.

"Now it's time for bed!" Joel said as he picked up his kids. They giggled as their father took them up to their bedrooms. He tucked them in and kissed them goodnight before heading back to the room where his wife was.

"Who's idea was it to have kids again?" Lizzie yawned. It was very tiring being a parent.
"Pretty sure it was yours," Joel replied, kissing her.

The couple went upstairs and changed into more comfortable clothes. Joel turned on the TV and cuddled with Lizzie as the watched the musical Hamilton. Around the end of Act 1, Lizzie couldn't keep her eyes open for much longer and cuddled up to Joel.

Joel smiled and said, "I love you."
"Love you too," Lizzie mumbled as she fell asleep.

Joel smiled at his wife sleeping peacefully. He turned off the tv and the lights and went to sleep holding his teenage crush who just happened to be his wife now.
