Visit From the Weasleys (Part 2)
Lily’s POV
I woke up to find that James wasn’t beside me in the bed. I looked around and didn’t find him anywhere in the room. So I decided to get up and go to the kitchen to start breakfast. I was about to enter the kitchen when I heard clanging in the room. I grabbed my wand out from my pocket, ready to attack the intruder. I slowly opened the door and saw James, Remus, and Sirius grabbing the pots and pans, making a ruckus.
I fully opened the door and they all looked at me. “Well, you’re all up early,” I stated.
Sirius cleared his throat. “L-little Red. We didn’t expect you to be up for another hour.”
“Hmm, well I’m up. What are you three doing?” I asked.
All three men looked at each other and hesitated. Eventually, James spoke up. “Well Lilyflower, we decided to clean up the kitchen and cook breakfast.”
I stared at them, not believing a word. I laughed. “Okay, now what were you really doing?”
Remus, James, and Sirius all looked at each other then to me. “We mean it, Lils. You’re going to be busy, wanting to cook a feast for the Weasleys. So we decided to clean and cook for you,” Remus spoke up.
“Oh...well that was thoughtful of you three, but do any of you know how to cook? And I mean besides eggs, James.”
James sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. “Well, I was going to cook eggs, Remus was going to cook pancakes, and Sirius...what were you going to cook, Padfoot?”
Sirius stood there, thinking for a bit. “Cut fruit?”
“Cut...fruit? Are you sure?” Remus checked. “Maybe you ca-”
Sirius interrupted him. “No, I’ll cut the fruit. And Little Red can make the coffee and get the juice.”
After everything was settled, they got to cooking. Remus started making the batter, James scrambling the eggs, and Sirius looked for the fruit.
After about half an hour, the pancakes were cooked, along with the eggs, the fruit was cut, and coffee was brewed and on the table, along with the juice. I looked at the clock and saw that it was close to 8.
I looked at Sirius incredulously. “You were up before nine?”
Sirius glanced at me. “Yeah. Something wrong with that?”
“No. Nothing wrong with that. I was just surprised. I’m going to wake Harry up and see if Petunia and Dudley are up as well.”
I walked upstairs to see Harry walking to the stairs. “Good morning, Mum.”
I smiled at that. Hearing him say ‘Mum’. “Good morning, Hazza. Your dad and uncles made breakfast. So how about you go down and I’ll go see if your aunt and cousin are up?”
He nodded and continued downstairs. I went to Petunia’s room and knocked. She responded that she and Dudley were up. I descended downstairs and saw James swinging Harry in the air, making Harry laugh.
“Having fun, are we?” I examined. They both looked at me and James ran at me and grabbed my waist, hugging me close.
I heard a camera click and looked up to see Remus holding a camera, smirking. Suddenly, I heard laughing and giggling. I turned my head to see Harry giggling and Sirius laughing. I teared up with happiness.
“Mum? What’s wrong? Why are you crying?” Harry asked worriedly.
I smiled and hugged him tight. “Nothing is wrong, mon doux amour, my sweet love. I’m just very happy today. My favourite people in one place, having fun, laughing, smiling.”
We all sat down and dug into breakfast. Everyone laughing, smiling and just having fun.
James’ POV (2 ½ hours later)
We all had gotten ready to go visit The Grangers and pick up Hermione, Harry’s friend. Harry was really jittery and pacing-well more like trying not to run-everywhere.
“Harry James Potter. Stop running around the house and calm down, please.” Lily pleaded.
Finally, Harry had stopped and looked down with shame. “Sorry Mama,” he apologized.
Lily’s eyes teared up and picked his head up. “It’s alright. Just calm down, okay Hazza?”
He nodded and Remus and Sirius came up. “Are you guys going yet? You’ll be late if you don’t leave now,” Sirius joked.
“We’re leaving soon. Once Harry has his shoes on correctly, we will,” Lily affirmed.
I looked at Harry and saw he had mis-matched shoes on. He looked down and saw his shoes and went upstairs to change them. After about five minutes, he came down with matching shoes. “Now may we go?”
Lily nodded. “We can.” She and Harry grabbed onto my arm and I apparated them to an alley of the town The Grangers live in.
We walked the rest of the way to their house and knocked. The door opened and we saw a short head of bushy hair. The bushy head of hair rushed and hugged Harry.
“Harry! It’s good to see you!” said the bushy head hair that I figured was Hermione.
Harry laughed. “‘Mione! We just saw each other about three weeks ago!”
“Exactly! Too long!” she laughed.
I smiled at the scene. “Hermione, dear? Would you mind letting our guests in please?” someone from inside asked.
“Oh, sorry! Please come in,” she urged. We entered and her parents greeted us.
“Hello, Mr and Mrs Potter. We’re William and Jean Granger. Thank you for inviting our daughter to go over,” welcomed Jean Granger.
“It is our honour. And please, call us James and Lily. No need for Mr and Mrs.” Lily reassured. “Is Hermione packed? We’ll bring her back on Saturday.”
Jean and William nodded. They both said goodbye to their daughter and we left.
Hope you enjoyed it Luvs. I sure did enjoy writing it. And as I promised, I did a long chapter. It is 951 words, not including these ones. And it was 3 pages long, not including this one either. Next chapter, I hope to bring in the Weasleys. And…*evil laughter* I have a great idea that I have been pondering on for a while. You’ll see it soon. Bye for now!
