Just kiss her already!

Everyday we pass In the halls. Everyday he flashes me his award winning smile. Everyday he used to ask me out in his annoying yet cute ways. Everyday I consider saying yes but then remember what he did to Severus. Even if he did apologise numerous times after, claiming he had changed. It's more about pride now. What would everyone think if I said yes after two years of saying no?

Well I'd lost the opportunity. James had clearly got the message. He hadn't officially asked me out in months. Sure I was relieved. It was getting sort of annoying and at points frightfully embarrassing but I sort of loved the attention. And sometimes I sort of thought I loved him. Alice would tease me about him to no end after I told her I kinda liked him one late night. But I guess I didn't mind. As we were talking about him.

Ugh, I'm not that sort of girl am I. It's just so frustrating. Now that he's gone. I just like him more.

The pitter patter of rain was echoing the common room one night. Flashes of lightning illuminating the halls. Nearly the whole seventh grade of Gryffindor were settled in a sort of wonky circle on the floor. Everyone was pretty gloomy with mid year exams coming up. So of course, The Marauders had taken it upon themselves to cheer everyone up.
"Okay who's in for some fun!?" Called Sirius Black. A few grumbles escaped from their meek circle. Sirius pretended to look offended. "Fine okay, tough crowd." My eyes shifted to James and caught his. Even he didn't look in the mood right now. We exchanged a tired look. Even though he'd lost Interest in me romantically we were actually sort of friends now. Which was probably not helping my mini crush. Or giant crush. "How about a game of 'Never have I ever?" Sirius asked with a gleam in his eye.

{if anyone doesn't know what that is. It's a game where everyone has a shot glass and someone will say 'never have I ever.......'. If you have done it you must take a drink for the glass.}

"Come on please Lils?" Alice begged me.
"Oh, you only want to play because Longbottom is." I stated. Raising my eyebrows because I knew I was right.
"Whatever. James is playing." She baited, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Oh.... Fine then." I grumbled. She laughed and I hit her playfully on the shoulder.

Sirius passed around shot glasses of Apple juice. Apparently he had tried to bring in alcohol but the magic that enchanted the castle simply wouldn't allow it. Once that was settled, Frank Longbottom started. "Never have I ever..." he looked around. "Kissed a guy." Numerous girls around the room took a sip, including me. Some Ravenclaw guy in fifth grade. Don't ask. I looked at James, he was looking at me with a brooding look on his face. Weird.

"Oh and by the way, I enchanted the glass so you will be compelled to drink even if you don't want to admit to doing it." Sirius said with a cheerful smile. Quite a few people looked uneasy.

Some interesting things were found out but I managed to refrain for drinking much at all. Alice noticed this so she decided to get me. Not that everyone didn't already know it anyway. I think she just wanted to include me.
"Never have I ever... gotten straight A's." She looked at me pointedly. Waiting for me to drink. Although I felt like I was boasting, my hand felt like it was being dragged towards the cup. The liquid now poured into my mouth. I looked around seeing if anyone else had drunk.
There was one other girl. Jenna, I think her name was who I'd never had much to do with and then of course Remus. But then to my surprise James Potter took a drink.

It seemed I was just as confused as anyone else. Sure I knew he was smart but...? Straight A's? Wow. I didn't know he had that much work ethic. He smiled at me sheepishly and I felt my cheeks burn a little. Rounds went on and I kept stealing glances at James. Sirius called a bathroom break. Claiming he had had way too much apple juice so I turned to talk to Alice, only to find her following Sirius out of the room. Suspicious.

When everybody was ready to play again Sirius jumped up and down like a puppy.
"Oh god, you don't have to go to the bathroom again do you?" James complained
Sirius stuck his tongue out at James.
"No Prongs I'm just excited for my next question." He stated mischievously while winking to Alice. Oh god, what's going on?

"Never have I ever... Fallen in love with my fellow head student." My eyes widened in fear. Oh god. Alice set me up. This would be so embarrassing! Years of him joking around while asking me out and me declining him. Peter felt the need to mutter a quiet. "Ohhhhhhhh." My cheeks felt fried. James was glaring at Sirius. When I saw him i felt as though someone had turned up the heating on my cheeks another notch. I felt my hand reaching for the glass. I shut my eyes, figuring it would be easier to shut out the embarrassment. James never liked me. He was just kidding! And now I had to admit to practically the whole grade I liked him after turning him down for so long. I felt the continents of the glass spill into my mouth.
A girly giggle from Alice and.... Sirius? Filled the room.

"Lily open your eyes." Alice whispered in my ear.
"No, no I won't." I whispered back mortally embarrassed.
"Lilyyyy" she sung.
"No."
"Lily."
"No
"LILY EVANS." I fell back at the loud voice in my ear and opened my eyes in surprise, only to see the whole room looking at me except for one boy who was too busy blushing and staring down.

Down. Down at his empty cup. Down at his cup that wasn't empty before. Which meant... Uh. W-Which meant...

"Y-You like me?" I asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" He asked attempting to joke. But it didn't seem to work with his cheeks coloured crimson. "I've asked you out everyday for the last two years Evans." He tilted his head to the sky. "How is she getting straight A's?." He asked the roof.
"I thought you were just joking." I said. Excitement filling my stomach but guilt all the same. He was serious when he asked me? Ugh I felt so bad.
"Well I wasn't." He sighed. An empty silence filled the room while we stared at each other. Exploring the depths of his big, cute eyes.
"Oh come on Prongs, just kiss her already!" Remus exclaimed, throwing his hands up in frustration.

James looked at me, the mischievous grin coming back to his face. He was just so cute. Before I knew what I was doing, I leaned in and clashed my lips against his. Cheers erupted around us. And in that moment, everything just seemed perfect. My heart was melting and I was falling deeper in love by the second.

{I quite like this one! Comment what you think :)}
