(This one is pretty different than my usual things I write and the ending is kinda weak but I hope you enjoy!)

My hands were shaking. This shouldn't be so hard. I didn't want to ruin but honestly wouldn't it be better she was safe than mad at me? I had to just do it and I was going to. Right now. Right. I could do this? Yeah?

The sight of Lily in an old jumper and sweats with her red hair up in a cute messy bun in the kitchen gave me the courage to approach her. If she got hurt I would never forgive myself. As cheesy and cliche as it sounds.

I wrapped my arms around her small waist and kissed her gently on the forehead. I saw the edge of her face form Into a bubbly smile. I knew I had to do this now before I lost the courage. "Hey Lil," I spoke softly.
"Yeah James?" She said tiredly, this war had out such a toll on everyone. Seeing her like this made my heart feel like falling out its chest.

"I'm gonna say something now and I really don't want you to get mad at me." I whispered.
Her body tensed. "What's up?" She asked sound cautious. Merlin, she probably thought someone had died. We were all expecting the deaths soon, fresh out of Hogwarts and straight into war. This was just the beginning.
I spun Lily around and looked her straight in they eye.
"Drop out of the order." I said, it flew out of my mouth before I could stop it. She pulled away from me. She looked hurt,
"What?" Lily spoke defensively.
"It's just I don't trust you to stay safe anymore." I blurted. That was not what I meant to say, Idoit. She gasped, her eyes already filling with tears.
"It's just not safe anymore lil." I said, trying not to raise my voice. This was not going how I planned.
"No James, it was never safe! " She said, her face already flushing red. This was happening too fast.
"Please Lily, I, I'm not trying to insult you or anything it's just-"
"I can take care of myself thanks." She said hotly.
"I can't be with you knowing that one day we might not get back home alive."
"Well maybe we just shouldn't be together if you can't handle it." She yelled.
Did I just here her right? Wait what? Were we breaking up? No that happened much too fast. I could feel my eyes watering before I could stop them. I was meant to be the tough one. But how could I? After waiting these years just to break up with my true love, the one I love the most in the world.

The one who's ring to be hung in my pocket like a weight.

"I-i didn't mean that." Lily began.
"No." I stopped her tears were streaming down my face and my vision was swimming and my head was spinning. "Is this what you want." I spoke in a monotone voice. Unable to process anything else.
"No No James, I'm really sorry please I didn't mean it, I love you." She said she reached out and grabbed my hand. Her soft hands spread warmth to my body. I sighed.
"I'm sorry." I said softly.
"Me too." She replied. "My hormones are just running everywhere lately." She added.
What was that supposed to mean? How was I meant to reply to that?
"Uh... Are you alright Lily?" I asked, utterly confused.
She rolled her eyes but she was beaming.
"James, I'm pregnant."
