James POV

Casually sauntering over to the desk where Lily was busy packing away her cauldron from the potions lesson we had finished 10 minutes previously, I rubbed my hands on my shirt preparing myself for what I was about to do.

Most of the students had already disappeared from the dungeon, preferring not to stay a minute longer than necessary. I was normally amongst those students, with the marauders. But today was different. Today was special.

Lily POV

James was edging slowly towards me awkwardly.

"Is something wrong James? You haven't set fire to the common room, have you?"

James looked surprised at my question. "No-no. No."

"So... What's up then?"

"Well you see, erm..."

"Yes?"

"The Halloween Ball."

"What about it?" I said, butterflies in my tummy.

"I was just wondering..."

"Yes..." I mumbled, butterflies practically swarming in my tummy now.

"I was wondering if you would like to come with me, Lily?" James said, scratching the back of his head.

"Oh." I whispered, blushing.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked, it was stupid. I just thought..."

"No- James I would love to come with you. I was just a bit surprised, that's all. You asked me without using the words 'Evans, go out with me!'"

"Yeah, well I guess I've changed... Hopefully for the better."

"Definitely for the better."

So that's part 1 of this chapter and its going to be followed up, hopefully on Tuesday with the Hogsmeade Date! (Definitely this week) Its a huge time skip of nearly 2 months but I feel that if I want to cover the whole seventh year in this book then timeskips are necessary. Sorry xoxoxoxo

I know this chapter is REALLY short, but it does take some time to get in this mindset again after almost 2 months of not updating. The other chapter this week will definitely be a lot longer!
