JJ and Kiara started dating during their senior year of high school and they got engaged while Kiara was in college. Kiara was completing college in three years instead of four due to the extra classes she took in the summer. The two were always together and the wedding was coming up fast. All the pogues were so excited about the wedding. Their two best friends were about to get their happily ever after. The past few months have been rough. Luke came home and he almost beat JJ to death. JJ turned to drugs one night and started doing cocaine.

The pogues promised to keep it a secret from everyone else and Kie wanted to send him to rehab, but he promised that he was clean. Luckily, JJ was able to sober up and be the best fiance to Kiara. They were both so excited for their wedding day.

JJ was in his dressing room getting ready when Mike Carrera came in. He looked at his soon-to-be son-in-law. He was polite at first and then he said, "You know that you're about to marry my only daughter. I just came in here to make sure you promise not to drag her into all your bullshit. She's becoming the successful woman that I always knew she would be. I don't want you dragging her down with all your daddy and drug issues. You marry her and it will probably destroy that. Use what's left of your brain and make the right decision"

Mike left a huge wad of cash and a bag of the white powder that JJ craved every day, but he stayed clean for Kie. Now, he was questioning everything. He couldn't help himself. He did a line of coke and then another. He was so high and it was his wedding day. Kiara deserved better. He grabbed his backpack and snuck out the backdoor. He got on his bike, went to their house, packed his bag, and he left the Outer Banks.

It was almost time for Kiara to walk down the aisle. They were lining up when John B came running out and informed them they couldn't find JJ. Kiara's heart sank. She disappeared into her bridal suite and broke down crying. She grabbed her phone and tried calling her fiance and it went right to voicemail.

"J, everyone is out trying to find you but I know you're gone. I have no idea where you went or what happened. I know you're gone and don't want to be found. I love you and I always will. Please be safe and take care of yourself, no drinking or drugs. You're so much better than that and you deserve the world. I'm sorry that I couldn't give it to you... I know you think you aren't good enough for me, but it's bullshit. The only thing that I want in the world is to be your wife, to be Kiara Anna Maybank. Please come home to me, we can figure this shit out, together. I'm here for you no matter what. I'll even come run away with you.  You are all I want. I love you, JJ so fucking much."  Kie said trying to pull herself together as she was bawling

JJ just left Kie at the altar. She went back to their house with the pogues and saw he had packed his stuff and left. Kie laid down on the floor holding onto a t-shirt he left behind. Everyone tried to get her out of her wedding dress, but she didn't want to move. Sarah and Cleo came into the room and they took her makeup off. They then helped her out of the dress. Pope laid down next to Kie, Sarah on the other side, and John B on the end. Cleo slept at the foot of the bed, but they were all there for Kie.

Kiara was a mess for a few weeks. No one has heard from JJ and then something changed. Kie had to pull it together because she found out that she was pregnant. The day she saw the positive test was the day she got her shit together. She was determined to be the best mom to her baby.

The baby gave the pogues excitement and brought joy to everyone. The pregnancy was going by fast and Kie gave birth to a little girl who she named Sophia Anna Maybank. JJ always loved the name Sophia, he told Kie that when they were dating.

Sophia was so loved by all her uncles and aunts. Kie was the best mom and Sophia was her little best friend. One day, when Sophia was four, they were in town at the Wreck stopping by to see Mike and Anna. Kie turned around and JJ was there. She hasn't seen him in almost five years.

"Kie" He said

"Jayge, what are you doing here?"

"Hi!" Sophia said to him

JJ got down on her level by squatting down and said, "Hi, what's your name?"

"Sophia" She smiled and JJ looked up at me

"You look just like your mommy"

Sophia was talking to JJ and he had the biggest smile on his face. He said goodbye and he left the Wreck. My parents were upset that JJ was back. I had my parents watch my daughter that night and Kiara went and told the pogues that JJ was back. They all asked what she was going to tell him about Sophia. He has to know that she's his daughter. Kie went home and JJ was waiting on the front porch.

"Hey, your dad said I could wait for you here" He said nervously

"You can leave now, I have nothing to say to you" Kiara replied pissed at him

"We have a daughter together... You can't cut me out of your life completely"

"How do you know she's yours?"

"Her name is Sophia, she's four years old, and she has my blue eyes... I want to be in her life. I need to know my daughter. We can do it on your terms and she doesn't need to know who I am yet, but I fucked up and I already missed four years of my little girls life"

JJ and Kiara sat out there talking. JJ hit the drugs hard and he's been clean for the last two years. JJ didn't tell her about what happened on the wedding day. It definitely wasn't the time to tell her that.

JJ hung out with Sophia all the time for a few months. They became little best friends. JJ was so good with her and one night as Kie was putting her daughter to bed, Sophia asked, "Can I call JJ daddy?"

"What?"

"Mommy, I know JJ is my daddy... Can I pleaseeee call him dad?"

Kiara was trying not to cry. She couldn't believed her little girl figured it out. She took a breath and replied, "I think he would love it if you called him daddy"

The next day, JJ came over for dinner and Sophia ran to the door and said, "Hi daddy"

JJ's eyes met mine and I smiled as I watched his eyes fill with tears as he picked our daughter up and said, "Hi Soph"

We had a great family dinner and two weeks later, Kiara and JJ were talking about the wedding. JJ admitted that Mike scared him off and Kie's heart broke. She felt betrayed by her own father.

"Jayge, you know that I loved you and all your issues. There is nothing about you that scared me away, not even the deep and dark secrets"

"I know that... I just didn't want to ruin your life and it's bad enough that I hurt you leaving but if I would have known you were pregnant, I never would have left. I know that sounds awful, but the last thing I wanted was to be my father and I'm exactly like him"

"You were like him, I'm not going to lie. You started fighting, doing hard drugs and drinking. Plus you left me and our daughter. You were exactly like Luke, but you came back and every day since you've been back you've made mine and Sophia's lives better. You got your life back on track, something Luke will never do. You might have been like him, but not anymore. You're doing all the right things and I love you for that"

JJ broke down and he hugged his ex-fiancé. The two shared the emotional moment. The two spent the night sleeping in the same bed. They just slept and woke up the next day feeling much better. Kiara went to her parents house and confronted her father. He admitted to everything and he also told her that once he knew she was pregnant, he found JJ. He was high out of his mind and living in a house full of druggies. Mike knew Kiara didn't need that so he left without telling JJ that he was going to be a dad. He did it to protect his daughter and future granddaughter. Kiara was pissed but she also understood why he didn't tell him. However, she'd never forgive him for he did on their wedding day.

Over the next few months, JJ and Kie had fallen back in love. I guess they never really fell out of love so they fell in love even more. The two got married and had a small private ceremony with just the pogues and Anna. Mike wasn't invited to the wedding and Kie had pretty much stopped talking to him.

Sophia was the flower girl and she looked so pretty, just like her mom! JJ and Kie were finally married and a happy family of three, soon to be four because they were expecting another little girl.
