JJ's POV:

It was New Year's Eve tonight and I was hanging at the chateau with John B. Pope and Kie were coming over soon and then we were going to a Boneyard party.

"Who are you gonna kiss at midnight?" I teased John B

"You already know I'm macking Sarah Cameron" John B said and Sarah laughed from the kitchen

"I think the real question is, who are you macking?" Sarah asked me

"No one" I said laughing

"Yeah, right" John B said knowing I would find someone to kiss

Pope and Kie showed up and we all just were chilling for a bit. We were talking about the party tonight.

Soon, it was time to go. We all piled into the van and John B drove us. We got to the party and there were so many Kooks there.

After an hour, we decided it was time to head back to the chateau and have our own party. We got back and started playing a game. Sarah found a bottle of champagne.

"JJ, you gonna mack Pope?" Sarah whispered to me

"Fuck off" I said annoyed and Sarah just laughed

Time was ticking down and the countdown was on. Twenty... Nineteen...

Then I got a crazy idea. I should kiss Kie.

Fifteen... Fourteen....

But Kie has made it clear many times that she isn't interested in me. But it was New Year's and I had to kiss someone and Pope was not an option so that left Kie.

Ten... Nine...

Shit. I was getting nervous. She was right next to me so I had to contain my nerves and excitement. I looked at Kie and we made this intense eye contact.

Three... Two... One....

The ball dropped and we crashed our lips into each other. She was actually kissing me. Like we were making out.

"Oh come on! I'm the only one who didn't have anyone to kiss" Pope complained in a joking matter and that caused everyone to laugh

Kie and I broke apart and things went back to normal. John B and Pope were giving me shit for breaking the rule. But John B broke it before me.

Kie got up and walked outside. I decided to follow her and make sure she was okay. Considering I kissed her out of nowhere.

She was sitting on the railing outside and she smiled at me when I walked out.

"So looks like we had the same idea..." She said smiling

"Great minds think alike.." I said awkwardly

"Come here..." She said

I sat next to her and she said, "It was just a fun New Year's eve kiss, right?"

"Yeah, totally harmless" I said acting as if it meant nothing

We both sat there in silence. I was thinking about the kiss and I knew Kie was too. As if it was timed, we both looked at each other. It was the same eye contact we had before we kissed. We both impulsively leaned in and started making out with each other. I stood up in between her legs and we were now using tongue. 

I've waited so long for this moment. We continued to make out and Kie wrapped her legs around me and I carried her to the hammock. I laid her down and carefully got on top of her as we continued our makeout there. 

We broke away both breathless. Kie laughed and said, "I have a feeling 2022 is going to be the best year yet."

I kissed her soft and said, "I love you, Kie..."

"I love you, J.." She said using the nickname only she called me

I kissed her again she fell asleep in my arms. I lightly kissed her forehead. This was the best New Year's Eve ever.
