JJ's POV:

Tonight was my rehearsal dinner before my wedding. I know, it's shocking that I'm getting married. I never thought marriage was for me. But John B and Sarah were married, Pope was engaged, and Kie has been in a serious relationship for years now.

My fiance's name is Ashley. We met when I went on a little surf trip by myself. She was originally from South Carolina and she comes from an amazing family who welcomed me into their family right away.

The rehearsal dinner and wedding was in Charlotte and it was huge. I basically only had the pogues there for me and the rest of the people were there for Ashley. Her family wanted her to have a huge wedding and they were paying for it. I just wanted Ash to be happy.

John B and Sarah were here and so was Pope and his fiance Taylor. I haven't seen Kie or her boyfriend. Then, I saw her. She showed up in a tight red dress and wow, she looked gorgeous. She saw me right away and we walked toward each other.

"Hey, congrats! Tomorrow is the big day" She said smiling

"Yeah, who would've thought I'd have a wedding like this" I said referring to how fancy it was

We both laughed and then we walked over to the bar. John B and Pope came over and asked where her boyfriend was and she said he was coming. He was just running late. We were still in the social hour of the dinner.

I had John B as my best man and my groomsmen included Ashley's brother, and two of her cousins, Pope, and Kiara. I know it's strange having Kie up there as one of the groomsmen but she deserved to be up there with John B and Pope. She was just wearing a long black dress tomorrow.

Usually, the bridesmaids stand behind the bride and the groomsmen stand behind the groom. However, Ash wanted the opposite so she could see her bridesmaids and I could see my groomsmen. Apparently, it was pretty common so I went with it.

The actual rehearsal part started and I was standing there with Ashley as people were going through the ceremony, it wasn't the whole thing, just the important parts. I honestly zoned out and got lost looking at Kie. Her curls looked so perfect and her dress was gorgeous on her. She was beautiful and we made eye contact and shit what the fuck was I doing.

I quickly focused back on Ashley and it was time to eat. We all sat down and ate and talked and Ashley's parents did a short speech thanking everyone for being here. I was alone with Ash at a table in front of everyone and I was again looking at her parents who were standing near Kie.

I couldn't help myself. My eyes were like magnets and now I had a serious problem in my boxers. I casually readjusted and tried to think of sad things to make it disappear. Thankfully, the speech ended and everyone who was there was socializing and dancing now.

I snuck out of there and went outside to get some air. I used to have this massive crush on Kie growing up but I got over that a long time ago. At least I thought I did,

"What the hell was that?" Kie's pissed off voice asked

"What was what?" I asked playing dumb praying she didn't notice

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Like what?"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about, JJ" She said with a sharp tone

I looked at her and said, "I don't want to be looking at you, Kie. I want to be looking at Ashley, my fiancé, the woman I am marrying tomorrow. Do you seriously think I want to look at you that way at my rehearsal dinner?"

I realized I was raising my voice and thankfully we were alone. I didn't mean to get so mad but I was mad at myself for looking at Kie.

I continued, "Do you think that when Ashley's mom and dad were giving their speech? That I wanted to be looking at you thinking about how fucking hot you look and get a damn boner thinking about all the dirty things we could do tonight. I can't do this, Kie. I thought I was over you but clearly, I'm not and I can't marry Ashley and live my whole life as a total lie"

Kie looked at me and laughed and said, "The reason why I was late was because I got into a huge fight with my boyfriend and I kinda broke up with him but asked him to still come because it looked pathetic showing up alone. You weren't just looking at me, I was looking at you too"

Holy shit... Kie was single and she was looking at me. I looked at her and said, "Wait here"

I ran back inside and I found Ashley. I brought her to a private room and I told her I couldn't marry her. I told her that I wasn't over old feelings and that it wasn't fair to either one of us. We talked and of course, she was pissed. I left the room and went back out to where Kie was waiting. I ran to her and kissed her. It totally caught her off guard and she kissed me back.

I broke the kiss first and said, "Let's get out of here"

Kie and I went back to her hotel room and as soon as the door shut she looked at me and asked, "So, what were all those dirty things you were thinking about doing to me?"

I wasted no time as I kissed her aggressively and passionately. We were making out things escalated quickly. After we were laying in bed and I pulled her into my arms. She was lightly tracing shapes on my chest and she drew a heart. I looked at her and I said, "I love you, Kie"

Again, she was caught off guard and I said, "I know it's soon but I've known you forever and it's always been you that I was in love with. You taught me what love is because my dad never did"

She looked at me and she was crying. She kissed me and then she said, "J, I love you too"

I held her in my arms and I just knew that she was the one I wanted to spend forever with. She must have been thinking the same thing because she said, "Promise me that when we get married you won't find another woman to leave your rehearsal dinner with"

"I promise, you're my girl and you're the only one I'm leaving my rehearsal dinner with. Actually, can we just say fuck the rehearsal dinner and have a small wedding on the beach with just our friends and your parents?"

"Don't trust yourself, huh" She teased me as she kissed me and then told me that sounded like the perfect wedding

The next morning, Kie and checked out of the hotel and we went to Ashley's parent's house to grab my bags. They were sitting outside the front door, perfect! We loaded them into Kie's car and then she got a text from her boyfriend asking for a ride home. She couldn't just leave him here so she said yes. We picked him up and he was pissed to see me in the front seat. He got in the back and didn't say a single word the whole way home. She dropped him off and then we went to the Chateau and there were our friends. All eyes were on us.

"Thank you for everything and sorry the wedding didn't happen, but don't worry, there will be another wedding soon" I said kissing Kie

We explained everything to them and everyone was so excited. Now, I had to pawn Ashley's ring and go get Kie a new ring. I'm so lucky that I didn't make the biggest mistake of my life and marry Ashley.
