Everyone woke up early that morning and started packing their things back in their bags.

Kie and JJ walked out to the beach one more time before they left. It was early morning and the sun was barley up yet.

"This week has been amazing" JJ said as they walked down the board walk together. The morning wind blowing through their hair.

"It really has" she smiled and held his hand. "A part of me misses the obx though"

"Yeaa, I'm definitely ready to see John b and them again" JJ agreed. "Not ready for school to start back though"

"Ughh don't remind me" Kie said, not looking forward to it "only a few more months left"

"Yea then we have to do it all over again after summer" JJ said

"But then we're free" she smiled and looked over at him "we graduate and then we can do whatever we want"

He looked at her and smiled as well

"That's when the real fun starts" he smirked

They made it to the water and took in the last bit of paradise before heading back to the house. 

They packed all there things into the car and started back to Outerbanks.

They cuddled in the car for the first half since it was still morning and they were tired.

Kie sat in the middle and leaned on JJ as he held her in his arms, covered up with a blanket.

They drove for 10 hours straight, occasionally stopping at gas stations.

They were almost home and stopped at one more gas station before the final stretch. Everyone went inside to stretch there legs and use the restroom if they needed.

Kie and her mom went into the bathroom while JJ and Mike stayed back and looked at snacks to buy.

JJ was standing next to Mike when he turned his head and saw rafe standing in the check out line. JJ instantly turned back to Mike like he was looking at him for help.

"Mike what is he doing here" he said quietly, trying not to get mad. This was the first time he had seen rafe since he put his hands on Kie. He was scared that he was going to do something and Kie would get mad at him.

"What?" Mike said, looking behind JJ to try to see who it was. He saw rafe and then it all made sense.

JJ stayed looking at mike, his back turned away from rafe so that he wouldn't have see him and risk getting angry.

Mike got concerned at seeing JJ start to get mad.

"Alright- just.." mike said, not knowing what to do.

"I swear to god if he says something-" JJ says, looking back at rafe

"Hey- calm down" mike said, trying to get his focus off of rafe. "Look at me"

JJ kept starring at him

"JJ look at me. Go stand back there" he said gesturing to the freezers in the back.

"No?" JJ said like he obviously wasn't going to do that, and looked back behind him.

"I'll go wait by the bathroom for Kiara and Anna, okay you just need to calm down and not do anything stupid" mike said, pointing at the back of the store.

JJ thought for a minute and then slowly made his way to the back, watching rafe from over the isles as he kept walking around to get a better look.

Mike went to the bathrooms to wait for them as JJ kept starring.

They walked out and rafe noticed Kie . He laughed a little and looked back up at the line. He left his spot and made his way over to them.

JJ saw this and instantly left the back of the store and stepped In front before he could even say anything

"Hey rafe, hows it goin" JJ said, pretending to be polite

"JJ- what a pleasant surprise" rafe said, cocky

"What's goin on man" JJ said stepping closer to him

"JJ" mike warned as if he was calling of a dog

"I heard you've stopped by the chateau a couple times" JJ said, ignoring mike "looking for anyone specific?"

"Look dude, I'm just trying to talk to Sarah- alright" rafe says putting his hand on JJ chest "you should really mind your own business"

"Don't fckin touch me rafe" he mumbled and grabbed his wrist and pushed his hand off of him

"Chill out- I just want to talk" rafe said

"What?" JJ asked, confused

"You never even listen to me" rafe said, a single tear randomly falling from his eye "I didn't do it"

"Rafe what are you talking about?" Kie asked

JJ looked back at her confused

"I didn't do it- so stop thinking that I did, alright?" rafe said, tapping his forehead over and over again with his thumb "I didn't mean to"

"Rafe" JJ said, trying to get him to snap out of it.

Rafe looked up at him. His eyes were scared.

"What are you talking about" JJ asked

Rafe said nothing, turning around and heading out the door with his hands on his head

They all looked at each other confused

"What's wrong with him?" Kie said, a little concerned

"That's what John b and Sarah were talking about" JJ said "he's loosing it"

"Let's just get out of here" mike said as they checked out and then went back to the car.

They made it back to the obx and they both looked out the window at there home town. They loved Florida but it sure felt good to be back home.

They got to Kies house and it was already almost sunset.

They all agreed to unpack tomorrow and just go chill for the rest of the night.

JJ thanked her parents again for letting him come, but he had to go back to the chateau. He said goodbye to Kie and told her he would be back tomorrow with John b and the Twinkie to come get his things.

He got on his bike and road to the chateau.

John b and Sarah heard his bike pull up and they went outside to great him

"Heyyyyyyyy!" Sarah said excitedly and gave him a hug

"You're backkkk" John b said, excited to see his best friend. This was probably the longest he had ever gone without seeing him, so he definitely missed him.

"Hey guyyyss" JJ said, hugging Sarah back and then hugging John b

"Bro you missed so much" John b said once they pulled away

"Did I?" He asked

"Yea, come on we'll fill you in" John b said, and they headed back inside.

They went inside and all sat around in the living room.

"So what did I miss?" JJ asked

"Well, first of all" John b started "Pope and Cleo broke up"

"What?!" JJ said "why?!"

"I don't know, he won't tell us" Sarah said "they broke up like two days ago and we haven't heard from Cleo since"

"Is he okay?" JJ asked sincerely

"I dunno" john b said "he's coming over tomorrow though"

"Shit" JJ said, leaning back into the couch. He knew that had to be rough on pope.

"And the other thing" Sarah started "rafe"

"Yea he's been coming to the chateau like three times a day lately" john b explained "we've been looking into mental hospitals for him and I think we're actually going to try to get him help."

"Yea, I know he's a dick, but he's still my brother you know" sarah added "i can't just leave him out in the world like that"

"Yea, no I get it, we ran into him today at the store" JJ said

"Wait you did?" Sarah asked "what happened"

"He was being normal at first but then it was like something flipped and he was just completely out of it" JJ explained "he kept saying that he didn't do it or something, but I don't know what he's talking about"

"Yea that's he keep saying to me too" sarah said "what didn't he do?"

"I dunno, but I think he really needs help" john b said "we'll figure out all the detail tomorrow when everyone come over"

"Yea, good idea" JJ said "well actually tomorrow I have to go back to Kies to get my things, can you drive me with the Twinkie?"

"Yea, sure" john b said "then we'll beg her parents to let her come to the chateau tomorrow night"

"I don't think they'll mind" JJ said

"So tell us JJ" john b smirked "how was it"

"What Florida?" JJ said "it was amazing"

"You know Kie sent me a picture of a sea turtle? What was that about" Sarah laughed

"Oh Marley, yea he was cool" JJ said, thinking about it

"Marley?" John b laughed

"Yea we watched a bunch of turtles get released into the ocean" JJ said casually "it was dope"

"That's so random" sarah laughed

They stayed up a little longer talking about everything that had happened over spring break, and then eventually fell asleep. John b and Sarah went back to there room and JJ crashed on the couch.
