It was early morning now and Mike had came back downstairs to check on them. They still lay passed out on the couch and he laughed.

He went over to the table and saw Kies camera with pictures next to it. He looked through the pictures she took of them playing and decorating cookies. He smiled going through them, and then got her camera and took a picture of her and JJ on the couch to show them when they woke up of how the fun day ended.

He sat the picture down in the pile with the rest and then went back upstairs to wait for everyone else to wake up.

Kie was the first to slowly start waking up. She opened her eyes, surprised by how light it was, and looked around.

"JJ" she said in a tired voice, pushing his shoulder to make him wake up.

"Mmm" he groaned, without opening his eyes.

"We fell asleep" she said, still trying to wake him up.

"Oh shit" he mumbled, opening his eyes and sitting up.

He rubbed his eyes and then looked at the empty couch

"Wait- your aunt was coming to pick them up right" he asked, a little panicked

"Yes" she laughed

"Okay good" he said yawning and then laid back down.

She laid back down as well and they started dozing back to sleep.

30 or so minutes later, Mike and Anna went back downstairs to wake them up. Her aunt, Jamie, and Mason were all coming back to the house soon to come pick up the toys that they left.

"Morning sleepyheads" Mike announced, throwing pillows on them to wake them up.

"Come onnnn, wake up" he said, tapping them

They slowly started to wake up again and sat up on the couch.

"What time is it?" Kie yawned

"7:00" Mike replied as he went back to the kitchen to start breakfast "your aunt will be here in 30 minutes"

JJ and kie slowly got up, eventually making there way to the kitchen and sitting at the barstool as her dad cooked

"So how was it?" Her dad asked

"Oh it was actually really fun" Kie said, glancing over at JJ and smiling

"There a handful for sure but there adorable" JJ agreed.

"I saw the pictures on the table, looked like y'all made cookies?" Mike laughed

"Yea" Kie chuckled "JJ brought them and Jamie and Mason had a blastt"

Mike looked over at JJ casually but He wouldn't have expected that.

"I took one last picture for y'all" Mike said, gesturing to the stack of Polaroid pictures.

Kie got up and grabbed the pile and brought them back to the counter so her and JJ could look at them.

"Oh my god" JJ laughed as he saw the picture of them on the couch.

"Thats actually so funny" Kie said as she smiled looking down at the picture of her and her boyfriend together.

"JJ, her aunts coming over for breakfast, you should stay too"

"You sure" JJ asked politely

"Yesss Jamie and Mason would love to see you one more time" Kie said and Mike nodded his head.

Her aunt came back to the house and JJ reunited with her cousins and they were all very excited.

They sat down and the kids started telling everyone all about how much fun they had last night.

"Uncle Mike, did YOU know that JJ wants to m-" mason started to say but JJ was quick to cover his mouth.

"Mason- buddy" JJ laughed nervously and Mason was giggling behind his hand.

Kie started laughing too since she knew what he was going to say.

"Uh ohhh" the parents started laughing since they knew it sounded like Mason was about to expose him.

"Mase, what where you gonna say" Mike said, trying to get him to spill

"He wasn't gonna say anything" JJ answered for him and everyone started laughing more.

"I was gonna say that-" Mason started as soon as JJ moved his hand but then instantly put it back.

"Mason, bro, you gotta stop tellin people that" JJ said as a joke but was desperately hoping he would not say that in front of kiaras dad.

"Oh! I know! he said that he wants to marwy Kiara!" Jamie added from the opposite end of the table.

"Wooooaaaaahhhhh!!" Everyone started bursting out laughing and JJ just hung his head and buried his face in his hands out of embarrassment.

"I did not say that" he said through his hands, knowing everyone already knew that he did

"Uhh yes you did, last night" Mason innocently reminded him

"Thank you.. Mason" JJ said sarcastically.

Mike patted JJ on the back as he was trying to stop laughing.

He looked up and was blushing like crazy. He just looked down at the table so he wouldn't have to make eye contact with anyone.

"Aaannddd you said you love her" Mason added since he thought it was funny that everyone was laughing

"Okayyyy okay" JJ said trying to get him to stop talking

"And that she gave you cooties" Mason said

"Bro-" JJ said putting his hands in his head again

"JJ how dare you, I do not have cooties" Kie joked, pretending to be mad but she couldn't because she was laughing to hard.

"Ohhh god" JJ laughed  "last time I ever tell you anything" He said, directing it towards Mason.

"Ohh ThatS funny" Mike said, still laughing at JJ who was blushing uncontrollably.

JJ looked up and accidentally made eye contact with Mike and they both started laughing harder and JJ looked back down instantly.

"That's brutal J I can't even lie" Mike said through his laughter, knowing that this had to be so embarrassing for him.

JJ was fine with telling Kiara that he wanted a family and to marry her one day, but everyone else knowing was so embarrassing to him. He didn't like most people knowing he had a soft side. It made him feel weak and vulnerable. And he hated that.

"Kids say the craziest stuff don't they" he says, pretending to not know what Mason was talking about as a joke. "We definitely, should take what they say with a grain of salt and never believe them"

"Oh no JJ the damage is done, it's been said" Mike teases him.

After breakfast, everyone still occasionally teased JJ about it but eventually moved on.

They were saying goodbye to her cousins at the door. Mason and Jamie kept jumping on JJ and hugging him.

Once they left it was just them in the house again. Mike turned back to walk away from the door and stopped when he passed JJ and looked at him. Mike tried to control it but then started laughing again.

"Alright okay" JJ said, taking in the humiliation. Mike laughed and pat JJ on the back again as he walked by

"Ohhhh funny stuff" Mike said and walked outside.

JJ stayed at Kies house for almost the rest of the day since he didn't have work that day, and had no where else he had to be.

It was 5:00 now and JJ and Mike sat outside on the porch, while Mike cracked open a beer.

"So Marriage huh?" Mike said, looking over at JJ who instantly dropped his head at the brought up topic.

He laughed as he cringed at himself.

"Yeaaaaaa" JJ cringed "that was taken out of context okay" he tried to defend himself but Mike just laughed

"Didn't know you were thinking about it in that way yet" he said

"I'm not I just-" JJ said, hating the feeling of having this conversation with her dad. "well I mean.. I don't think about it.. any other way" he admitted

"But it's something that you want one day?" Mike asked, looking over at JJ. He could tell he didn't like talks like this, and Mike almost found it kind of funny.

JJ paused, not wanting to answer. He took a slow deep breath before talking again.

"I mean, yeah" he said like it shouldn't be that surprising to Mike. But it was a little.

"Ohhh the day you come and ask for my blessing" Mike says comically "that will be one funny day" he said imagining how nervous JJ would be.

JJ laughed and looked down a little.

"Hey, remember when you said I'd never get your blessing" JJ smiled and looked over at Mike playfully , as if he was mocking mikes past words "and now I'm sitting here on your porch, talking about marrying her" he laughed

Mike laughed as he remembered how him and JJs relationship used to be.

"Myea, well, I thought of you as a different person back then." Mike said "your a hard guy to get to know"

"Still" JJ laughed "did I nail it or what" he joked

Mike laughed and then they both looked up at the door as Kie opened it and walked out

"Hey guys, what are y'all doing out here" she said, walking over to sit on the patio couch with JJ

"hey" she whispered with a smile as she got by the couch and sat down. JJ looked up at her with love in his eyes and a smile on his face as she sat down next to him, leaning her knees in his lap and he put his arm around her but kept it on the top of the couch.

Mike watched his eyes as she sat down. He had no doubt that JJ loved her.

"Nothin much, just talking" Mike answered her question.

They kept talking about normal things for a while, but then Mike figured he'd go inside and let them talk by themselves.

He left and watched them through the window briefly as he walked back into the kitchen. He noticed that at soon as he left, JJ moved his arm off the couch and wrapped it around her.

All the talk of marriage got him thinking. If he was only going to have one son-in-law, he was happy that it would be JJ.
