Kie stopped and just stared at him in disbelief. She literally couldn't believe it. JJ started breathing heavier.

"There! I said it!" JJ said, becoming more and more anxious. "I don't care anymore. I can't keep feeling like this I can't-" His breathing got faster.

Kie watched him, still speechless. Frozen in time.

"Look- could you just say something?!" JJ barked. The longer she took to respond, the more freaked out he got.

After a moment more of processing, she walked up to him confidently, and wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him.

This caught him off guard, but he started kissing her back.

She pulled their mouths away after a moment and looked into his eyes.

"I love you too." She whispered.

JJ didn't know how to process that. He quickly pulled her back into a kiss. He had never been in this situation before. He had never gotten this far with a girl. He loved hearing those words back.

It felt so good for them to be kissing again. They had both craved it for so long. Their lips were like candy to each other.

Kie slowly pulled away again, looking up at him. He was calm now.

"Please don't ever think that you're not good enough." She said, her voice quietly breaking.

JJ looked down, his face slightly twitching and his eyes blinking rapidly. He knew he probably couldn't promise her that.

He looked back up at her. Her eyes were almost watering which made him want to tear up a little bit. He put their foreheads together, then pulled her face back in to kiss her.

Just as their lips touched again, they heard the door open. They quickly pull away and look at the door.

"I knew it. I knew you were up here being a little slut with your new pogue boyfriend." Rafe said coldly.

"the fuck man? You got a problem?" JJ, who was already on edge, said to him.

"JJ ITS FINE." Kie yelled, trying to get him to calm down.

"You really don't wanna mess with me right now pogue." Rafe said, almost psychotically

"Rafe what do you want." Kie asked, annoyed.

"I- I'm up here just, you know.. Wondering, why your your up here.. fucking..a- a pogue.. when, when you could still be.. with me. Kiara." Rafe said, stressing. his voice unstable and was obviously high.

"Still?" JJ said, looking at Kie confused.

"JJ-" Kie started

"Oh.. oh you didn't know?" Rafe said, trying to get him mad. "Oh yeaa me and Kiara.. we go wayy back. Isn't that right?"

Kie looked at JJ as he began to get more mad about the situation.

"Yeaaa, go ahead and tell him about your kook year kiara." Rafe said while getting closer. Kie was clearly upset.

"back off man!" JJ barked while pushing him away. "Why don't you just get the fuck outta here Rafe." He said right in rafes face.

Rafe lightly laughed as if he were leaving because he wanted to, then walked out of the room. JJ shut the door behind him and leaned on the door, facing away from Kie.

"Rafe?" He asked, kinda disappointed as he turned around and faced her. She had tears running all down her face.

"Sarah wasn't the only reason that, that was the worst year of my life, JJ." Kie said while crossing her arms and looking down.

He paused to think. As much as he was really uncomfortable with the idea of her and Rafe being together, He didn't want to make her feel bad about it. He knew this was already hard on her.

JJ walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders, holding her tight. She hesitated with her arms still crossed, but she couldn't hold it back anymore. She began sobbing into his chest.

"Shhhh it's okay it's okay" JJ tried to calm her down while stroking her hair. "Cmon, let's just get you home"

They walked down stairs and made their way through the crowd. JJ held onto her shoulders as if he was her guard dog, ready to pounce at anyone who messed with her.

They got to Kies car and JJ drove her home.

once they got there, he walked her all the way to her door.

"Thank you. JJ" Kie said once they got to the door.

"Of course" he said while giving her a smile and walking away.

"JJ- I really want to talk" Kie said, grabbing his attention. He turned back around and slowly made his way back to her.

"About what?" He sighed.

"About.. y'know.. the whole rafe.. situation" Kie Said, nervously.

"Right- well" JJ paused to think. "There's not much to talk about really. It's fine"

"I just-"

"Look we'll talk about it later, alright?" He said, loosely brushing the inside of his cheek with his tongue. "For now just.. get some sleep"

Kie looked down and took a deep breath.

"I'll see you tomorrow" JJ smiled "okay?"

"Okay" she faintly smiled back.

Kie went inside and went up to her room. She felt so confused. JJ... in love? She didn't even think he was capable of saying those words.

She then realized that he must be confused too. He just found out that her and Rafe have history. She felt like there was so much she had to explain to him.

Once JJ made sure that Kie was dropped off safely, he went back to the party to get his bike. But once he got there, he saw John b and Sarah get into the Twinkie. He could tell what they were about to do... if ya know what I mean.

JJ didn't want to rain on their parade so he got on his bike and went home. It was late so his dad would for sure be passed out.

He got home and saw his dad laying on the couch with a beer bottle still in his hand as he slept. JJ walked past him in disgust, and went to his room.

He couldn't believe he had finally told her. He just couldn't help it anymore. He was so painfully in love with her.

He laid down on his bed and stared up at the ceiling, when all the sudden he heard a knock at his window.

He went to go see what it was. He opened the blinds and saw Kie. He quickly opened his window and helped her in.

"What are you doing here kiara, if my dad sees you he-" he said, stressing as he helped her in.

"I know" she cut him off "but I feel like we need to talk."

JJ closed his window back and made sure his door was locked just in case. He had to make sure his dad won't see her.

Kie sat down on the side of his bed and She looked worried.

"What did you need to talk about?" JJ asked while sitting down next to her. His back against the wall.

"Just... everything" she said while scooting back next to him. "But.. mainly I feel like I need to explain to you what happened with Rafe."

JJ sat there is silence after remembering about Rafe.

"Kie.. he's like enemy number 1" JJ sighed "what were you doing with him"

"Look- During my kook year.. we kinda had.. a thing" Kie said shamefully

"What kind of thing?" JJ asked

"We dated.. for a month- less than a month really" she said "and then afterwards, when I broke up with him, he tried to blackmail me."

JJ sat there and listened while Kie started to choke up.

"He just made up so many rumors about me, and everyone stopped talking to me- And at the time it was just really scary..I mean you know how Rafe is." She said while collecting herself. "I know it's stupid but it was just really scary"

"Hey no it's not stupid. Alright." JJ said, reassuringly "you don't have to worry about him anymore. I'm not gonna let him near you."

"JJ you don't have to-"

"Hey" he said as he went to hold her hand. "It's okay"

Kies heart skipped a beat by this embrace. She just wanted to tell him that she loved him again, but felt it was too soon.

"Kie.. can I ask you a question" JJ asked while still holding her hand. "Why.. don't you want to officially, y'know.. be my girlfriend. I'm not mad I'm just wondering"

"Because.. JJ" she said hesitantly. "Once we officially start dating...that means we can officially break up. And I'm scared."

"What?" He asked 

"You mean to much to me JJ.. and I can't loose you."She said, looking into his eyes. "I don't really know how.. but some where along the line you made me fall in love with you."

JJ smiles softly when he hears her say it again.

"And I'm just scared that once we officially date...That you're gonna get tired of me and move on."

"Kie.." he said in a whisper and pushing her hair behind her ear "That's never gonna happen. I promise."

"How can you be sure?" She asked, looking down at her hands.

"Because.. i just know. And I know that I want to be with you, Kie." He said, lifting her face back up to meet his eyes "and I know that I-" he swallowed back his nerves "that I love you"

She looked as him deeply. She was relieved to hear him say that.

"I know it's probably weird to hear me say all that.. at least to me is" he admitted.

Kie chuckled

"But I- I've never.. I've never felt like this before" he said as his eyes nervously bounced around her face.

His hand in hers. His other on her Cheek. She couldn't help but to slowly go in for a kiss.

Their lips touched and it was like magic all over. both still against the wall, turning their heads to
Kiss each other. JJ slowly pulled Kie closer, and she follows his lead.
